On the Trail Towards Home

[Kimiko Taiyou]

"Forgive me for being so rude." Ki spoke softly before hearing his last words and she blushed at the remark.

Many beings had been curious as to her origins, especially since her transformation, it was still unknown even to her. Between all her doings and personal life, she had barely made any headway into figuring out her own mystery. Here was a moment that was no different.

Her face saddened and eyes averted, ears falling low on her head as she fidgeted with her glass,"I...don't even know what I am, or where I am from. I have been searching for answers for years to no avail."

Her head shook as attention returned to him,"I did manage to track down several leads on my previous 'owners', and when I spotted you, I thought you were the same as me...maybe I would get somewhere. Now, this...this Dancer, I need to find him. He must know something...if only...only..." her words were ridden out on a roller coaster of emotions, starting calm, getting angrier, then cutting off just before the tears streamed down her face again...

Maybe she shouldn't have undertaken this journey. It was bringing up to many memories for her, eroding her like a river through a canyon. But she needed closure, no matter how hard the trip would be.

Emanating an aura of calm, Ryn reached across the table, not touching the girl, but laying his hand in her downcast field of vision. A show of solidarity and comfort.

"I know your plight all too well. I did not know until I was almost a grown man as to what I was. You will find your truth [member=Kimiko]. I know you will."

He continued the smile at her, hoping she'd find some comfort in his words.

Her eyes raised and through tears she offered a slight smile before taking the offered hand, finding a solid platform for stability.

"I do hope so. I feel like I need to find where it is I come from."

A shaky breath was released and her grip tightened slightly before Kimiko continued,"You...You did say you had never seen anyone like me?"

Shaking his head slightly, ears drooping apologetically, before looking the young woman in the eyes once more. "I am afraid not. You are as unique to me as I am to most of the galaxy." he answered sadly. A reassuring squeeze was given, as he attempted a comforting smile. "But, I do promise to aid you in your search to the best of my ability, however much value that offer may hold."

His heart ached for the girl. He knew the pain of loss and confusion over his identity, and it was a torment he could not bear to witness another person suffer through.

The BB unit rolled up to them at this time, trilling enthusiastically. "Yeah, he's right.... do you know where we might be able to start searching for this, 'Dancer'? BB will be able to get the coordinates punched in if you want to dive right into the hunt?" He asked, ears peeking forward eagerly.

Ryn was a good person, one of the best Ki had met outside of the Outback. He was genuine in his concern and she sensed he had been through a similar path as the one she was on now. Perhaps it was some sort of fate that their paths crossed here, who knew?

Her hand on his squeezed gently, the faint smile broadened, and she seemed to lighten the air around her. She wanted to say yes to the offer, have a companion in her endeavor, but her answer would be,"I...appreciate the offer, I do. But I cannot burden one who has already found their answer to help me seek mine. Please take no offense, I would enjoy the company, but this journey is one I must carve myself."

She stood after taking a final sip of her caf, emptying the glass. Her cloak returned to cover her ears as she turned to face hew new friend,"I will keep you in mind, and let you know when I find the answer I seek." she smiled warmly and her blue eyes sparkled as she rounded the small table towards him.
