Intent: To provide a special reward for the Omega event.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: The Omega Station & Castameer Collision
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Omega Event reward recipients
Modularity: No
Production: Limited
Material: The remains of the Omega Station and the planet of Castameer

Strengths:
  • Resistant to penetrative radioactivity.
  • High tensile strength.
  • Highly conductive. (Not superconductive)
Weaknesses:
  • Low ductility, things created from Omegium are more apt to break without plastic deformity rather than bow or bend. In simple terms, it is not very flexible.
  • High conductivity means greater potential heat factor, meaning that Omegium will reach a higher temperature than Durasteel when exposed to the same heat index for an allotted period of time. This would make it less suitable for heat-resistant materials as it would actually increase the rate at which it reaches a given temperature.
  • Extremely scarce - May only be used for unique submissions.

Description:
During the events of the Omega War many lives were sacrificed to bring an end to the rogue elements of the former One Sith that had created a massive space station devised for the destruction of worlds throughout the galaxy. A massive campaign against the Rogue Sith was led by the likes of the Mandalorians, First Order, Galactic Alliance, the remains of the Galactic Republic, Kathol Outback, and Silver Jedi that saw the defeat and damaging of the Omega Weapon itself.

The colossal station, however, was set on an unavoidable collision course with the planet of Castameer that resulted in the mutual destruction of both. The incredible release of energy from the station's reactors along with the friction of its collision with the planet, and Castameer's core itself, saw the creation of a blend of both the Omega Weapon and a small portion of the remains of Castameer. This material has since been dubbed as Omegium and existed only in extremely scarce quantities.

Omegium appears to be resistant to penetrative radioactivity, retains a high tensile strength, and is highly conductive but also lacks ductility and is prone to breaking rather than deforming or bending. Small amounts of this material, only in large enough quantities to provide a very small, unique, creation or memento from the events of the Omega War, found its way into the hands of many of the people who put their lives on the line, prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice, in order to save the rest of the galaxy.

When compared to more mundane materials, such as Durasteel in particular, it has a very unique color - it is always black, obsidian, in color - and is extremely durable. For example, Durasteel might cleave beneath the force of a blow from a vibrosword - Omegium, more often than not, would hold its shape and hold up to the tension of such a strike. Enough force applied, however, will result in the metal breaking rather than bending, or cracking rather than denting. It is very comparable to other low-ductile, high-tensile strength, metals in that regard.

This may only be used once per member for a single unique submission. May not be used for: Armor, Vehicle, Starship, or Droid submissions.
