Description: Taking a cue from the relatively massive boltgun that so defined the early days of the Protectorate, Sarge saw an opportunity for a crew served weapon capable of readily dealing with both the heavy armors so common in the galaxy now, as well as the abundance of Force Users.

To this end, he took the old boltgun and turned it into a crewed weapon, firing a more standard shell that was less a 'grenade' than the bolter (although there's still a relatively small explosion at the end). The reason for that being he wanted to be able to put a decent amount of ammunition in each box for feeding into the weapon - the original weapon suffered from low ammunition counts due to the high amount of explosives packed into each round. While he lowered the explosives amount, he's still essentially firing a larger version of the regular bolt round. Just slimmer and with better penetrative capabilities.

So while it now lacks a lot of the 'boom' on hit, it makes up for it with simply kinetic impact, volume of fire, and general armor piercing capacity. It's able to fire your standard slugthrower round types - armor piercing, armor piercing incendiary, etc. The hope is that these weapons will help provide an edge to the Protectorate military on the battlefield while also providing their dropships with new weapons with which to clear landing zones.

You've also your standard downsides of it being heavy, ill suited to mobile tactical operations and a near complete inability for a soldier to carry and fire it by themselves. Sarge, of course, would be able to manhandle one around but its accuracy would be a little hilarious.

As for the mounting on the dropships, they're generally going to be dual linked and then fed from within the vessel itself. Otherwise, you've your standard multipurpose heavy machine gun.

Note for crew shield: Big enough to provide a little bit of protection to the gunner but doesn't cover their head. Doesn't offer much to the helper. See here.

Impacts on various armors:
Standard Armors (Ex: Plasteel) - Disastrous. Serious damage.
Light Restricted Materials (Ex: Cortosis) - Disastrous. Serious damage.
Heavy Restricted Materials (Ex: Beskar) - OK. Most damage from kinetic impact of rounds.
Heavy Armor (Vehicles) - Weak. Need either weakened armor or significant luck to do much.
Light Armor (Vehicles) - Hazardous. Capable of penetration. Loses decent damage in process.

Are you certain you only want full auto or do you want a semi auto option? Also if you could drop in an approximate min and max effective range, I think you'll be golden.

Edited.

I wasn't sure what to put for 'minimum effective' because unless you're behind it, it's gonna hurt. Naturally, however, the bipod would necessitate a minimum range so I've thrown that in.
