Question Old Republic Era Astromech Concept

Working on a sub for an astromech that's supposed to be from waaaaaaaay back in the Great sith War era that my character came across in an old jedi tomb, need some help from someone more familiar with star wars tech (especially in regards to chaos) than I am.

Old Republic era droids don't differ toooo much from current era in terms of funcionality. Their designs are just different xD

functionally, it would've been designed to accompany jedi on missions.

I'm not one for technical stuff, so what that entails I'm unsure. Best I can come up with is the ability to fly starfighters, a portable personal shield generator to give the jedi a moment of reprieve in a fight, and maybe the ability to store survival equipment in a pinch.

I would assume the first requires a droid brain of some kind, but I couldn't seem to find a sub for one or an article for one on wookiepedia.

DeadpoolMLP hmm all of that is easily doable, the personal shield projector is an interesting idea not often seen. If you have an initial sub pm me and we can work it up
