SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Capable of remote control of chosen starship(s) via a virtual interface through the use of a touch interface and pre-programmed flight patterns which can be adjusted through manual manipulation of a touch-enabled screen, and although there is no upper limit to the number of starships this can be done with each starship added into the queue becomes exponentially more difficult to direct effectively. That is to say, if manual adjustment of multiple ships is required, only one can be adjusted at a time, thus massively risking potential damage or other undesirable outcomes if a user is attempting to command multiple starcrafts at once.
  • Capable of distributing commands or messages to an operator's droid(s) via a virtual interface. There is no upper limit to how many droids can be controlled or contacted in this way, but signal latency beyond two dozen droids becomes exponentially degraded, causing desynchronization and other potential errors with the droids receiving commands/communications.
STRENGTHS
  • Remote Control - Though less intense and less invasive than the Aurek-Zerek Avatar Node co-developed with Tanlab, the Okkeus Prosthetic Arm possesses a similar ability to control technology (either starships or droids) a user already has access to and to do so remotely without sacrificing their ability to move independently or retain consciousness. This gives one the advantage of orchestrating large scale operations solo.
WEAKNESSES
  • Signal Latency - As powerful as the arms virtual interface is, its small form factor means the signal producing power of the prosthesis is limited in range. Commands either become corrupted/misinterpreted/lost to any intended target beyond a ten-kilometer radius for droids and fifty kilometers for starships.
  • Limited Numbers - While there is no manufacturer's limit to the number of droids and starships that can be utilized at once by this prosthesis, there are practical limitations that limit a user's capability beyond a single starship and more than two dozen droids. These limitations, coupled with its "limited" range, prevents an operator from single handily commanding a Starfleet or a veritable army of droids. Even with some means of artificially boosting the signal, the number of starships that can be effectively utilized by this prosthetic is still limited by the user's ability to manually adjust starships one at a time.
  • Mass Broadcast - While an operator could theoretically field a large army of droids within a ten-kilometer radius, or perhaps larger if connected to a signal booster, commands or communications given to droids are done en masse, meaning there is no way of separating commands to specific segments of such a hypothetical army. Every droid connected to the prosthetic's program would receive the same message or command, and given the latency issues, the farther away from the operator the more degraded the message will come for every droid it needs to be sent too. As such, fielding literal armies with this prosthetic alone would be unwise.
DESCRIPTION

Inspire by the recent development of the Avatar Node in conjunction with Tanlab, Lance of Dreams jumped at the chance to further his cybernetic expertise to fulfill the request of the Jedi Okkeus Dainlei Okkeus Dainlei for a prosthetic to remotely control his starship with the assistance of a touch screen, and contact his droids as needed. Attempting to expand on these abilities as much as possible to appeal to a broader market, he got right to work reconfiguring the Avatar setup into a form factor fit for someone's arm (as opposed to head) and additional limit the amount of functionality lost to the body while providing the requested benefit. In the end, the Prosthetic is a light way, slim form factor, with a powerful signal processor with great versatility considering its small size.
