OH to be Older than Dirt (Mandalorians, Dominion of the Wheel)

Location: The Wheel

The Event:
STRIDER GARON TURNS 61!
Hard to believe the Mandalorian had made it to be that old. Hard to believe some woman hadn’t shot him, or some bastard child take revenge for a mother left behind.

The elderly man, who was now well into his membership of the AARP (Amoral Arousal Retirement Program). But still she had nothing but fond memories of him so when the opportunity came up to do something for the long in the tooth man she decided why not, give him a treat.
Alexis using all of her skills, and her abilities to send out messages across broad bands to all the Dathomiri Witches, and Mandalorians to come and celebrate his long life.

She made arrangements for a few dancers, booked the bar, and all the available rooms. There was gambling, wresting, tests of strength, lots of alcohol, and lots of food.

And one large birthday cake, which maybe she could hire someone to..well..jump out of. She’d have to think on that…the men might like it, but she wasn’t sure about the women.

The invitations were out, the party set. The Wheel was prepared to receive all celebrants, Alexis for the time being sat in the bar, with two fingers of whiskey neat in a glass. She’d change when guests started to arrive, otherwise pants, and a shirt, with boots current adorned the night sister.

Kay had never been to the Wheel, though she had been to Mandalorian space a few times, mostly while she was the COO of ArmaTech. But that felt like forever ago, even though it had just been over a year. She had hear about a big gathering happening and while still recovering from torture by Thraxis of the Jackals, she decided to venture to where she figured was out of the reach of the Hutt Cartel.

Even though she was a member of the Galactic Senate, she didn't arrive at the gathering to represent anybody but herself. She needed allies. The more the merrier. Some of her favourite hired bodyguards were Mandalorian. But what if there came a time when she hadn't the credits to hire anyone for help? She needed allies that she didn't have to buy. That shouldn't be too much trouble for her though as she made friends rather easily. But wherever she made friends, she made enemies as well. But that was probably the same for everyone.

Kay stepped in where the main festivities were taking place, dressed rather modestly yet elegantly as well. ( https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/14/29/19/1429195dec33a2e62be01bfd3e1bb48f.jpg)She didn't want to give the wrong impression to anyone that had had too much to drink or had delved into spices. And as always her well worn satchel was slung over her left shoulder.

It was safe to say that she had arrived early. Hopefully not too early. Kay stepped over to the bar next to [member="Alexis Ravensclaw"] and ordered a cup of Sapir tea. She then bowed her head to the woman. "Evening."

The massive mandalorian was there and walking, the Wheel as place they could celebrate on while she stood in the beskar'kandar with her spear. They might be here for a party but her husband's brother had a problem... with women and last time he had been around them her sister Basaba had need to cool him off with a knee to the groin. She'd just let the massive size of his sister in arms keep him away before she was crossing her arms and looking to see who else was planning o show up.

The Wheel, the last time this had been taken by the mandos, Kad's sister met the man she had married the first time. She'd fallen in love with the Mando'ade, and Kad had gone along with it. He remembered feeling like the man stole his sister from him as the vode had been rather close. Instead, Kad learned to love the man as a brother, and gained a niece from the pairing. Unfortunately the universe had not seen fit to keep them together, and both he and his sister experienced heart breaking loss. Briika had moved beyond it sooner than Kad had, but now Kad was well beyond the loss.

Today they were on the Wheel to celebrate a birthday for the Hound of Keldabe. He was turning another year older, and was among the oldest of their culture. This was something to be celebrated. With Kad for this party was his bombshell of a brunette, [member="Eliza Steele"]. This would be the first time he'd taken her to Mandalorian function. He had no worries about it though as the Corellisi was truly Mandokarla. She'd fit in well, especially since Kad was a great goran.

"Just a warning. Strider is like your dad in a certain area. He might want to show you how Striagra works. Just so you know."

Arla was here because...she needed a break. Did she want to help the man who put her buir in prison? Or the one that hit harder than a rancor on spice? She was definitely still made [member="Strider Garon"] for what happen with @Ordo.

She was uncertain about what she felt about [member="Garrus Garon"] he drank a lot. She noticed. She worked in a cantina for a long time she saw signs of drinking in lots of people. While Garrus did not seem to have those signs she couldn't imagine that his liver was loving it. Why should she care?

He was just another teacher in a line of teachers. Another Field Marshall.

Eh.

Arla looked to the darkness of space trying to calm the spirit within, to think of what to do next. Where was her life leading her? she couldn't just be a soldier all the time, she wanted more than that. But what was that.

Docking Pier

After getting clearance from The Wheel's flight control, Eliza Steele landed the Corellian Dawn in the large space station's Docking Bay 31 with well practiced ease. A quick post-flight was done, then the petite smuggler was ready to party. She was even dressed for the occasion in a present from [member="Kad Tor"], one that was unexpected and totally blew the spirited Corellisi away; making Lizzy go hmm, which was a hard thing to do.

The silver beskar'gam with a green kute was of the lightest weight to afford the smuggler some protection, but still allow her to move freely. It would take some getting used to being dolled up like this, but she'd humor her lover as it was a thoughtful gesture on his part. Now the true meaning behind the present, well that was yet to be determined.

The goran had invited her to the life day celebration for one of the Mando'ade's Field Marshals. Apparently this [member="Strider Garon"] was quite the character, one that apparently out did her father, [member="Remy Steele"], in the womanizing department. Thank the Force the elder Steele had taken care not to provide any siblings for her. Eliza wasn't quite sure how she'd react to a little brother or sister being the only child for all these years.

"lol Is that a bit of jealousy I hear in your voice… Come on, Saberboy. I need to break in this gorgeous suit of armor you made for me," the brunette smiled, then grabbed the gifts for the birthday boy off the lounge table on their way to the boarding ramp of the YT-1930.

" I live another year" The old man smiled as his eyes glued to the stage curtains before him as he stood their alone. This was his birthday and he had a surprise for his guests that will be remembered for decades to come. Strider Garon was many things, some desired some not, but tonight he was going to be the life of the party. That he knew was a guarantee. Aging was a privilege in a warrior culture and for one to make it to such an age was a feat and half. But here he stood, nervous as hell and dressed head to toe in some goofy musicians jump suit complete with sparkled embroidery and tassels. An image of difference for those use to seeing him clad in beskar or his usual simple garb of black combat pants and T shirt. He was the fool tonight and he was going to own it, it was his fething b day and he was going to make the best of it. Who knew if there was going to be another.....

"You ready?" A young attractive twi'lek questioned the older Mando.

"As ready as I am going to be, cyar'ika!" He gave the girl his custom flirtatious smile before turning his back to the red velvet curtains. He would then give her a nod to begin.....

The curtains of the Casino would slide open and there The hound of keldabe stood, his back turned to the crowd and his arms stretched out to either side. The embroidered gems upon his snazzy outfit sparkled in the stage lights and the music began.....

"Jealous, no, concerned, yes. The man makes passes at my sister constantly, and she's married. Does he care, not really. I'm not concerned about this guy when it comes to you. The distance thing we do is hard enough, and yet here we are... No I'm pretty sure he doesn't stand a chance."

Kad smiled. The armor looked good on Lizzy. It hugged her in all the right places. Not bad for surprising her with it. Kad may had to steal one of her black lacy bras to get the bust size the way he needed to. Either she didn't miss it, or she didn't care. He was certain he hadn't gotten away with it. Lizzy was to sharp for that.

The Goran followed her down the ramp and into the station. Signs were posted all over to the main celebration area. The bar was going to be the place they were all headed to. It would be packed. The chances were Graad and Briika would be staying behind. She was due any day now, and the closer they got to fall harvest, the more Briika looked like she was ready to be done. Kad couldn't wait to meet his nephew. It had him thinking about his own future, especially involving Lizzy, but neither seemed to be there yet. Kad had healed, but he just felt as though he was still earning the right to be that guy for Lizzy. She'd been burned, a lot. Kad wanted to prove that wasn't going to be him.

"Ever been to a Mando party before, Liz'ika? Better be ready for more Tihaar!"

The last he said with a wink, and smirk of fond memories. The rose tattoo was still on his butt from that night.

Kay took her tea from the bartender and paid for it. She wasn't expecting to run a tab or anything as she wasn't a drinker. Tea was more than enough.

As the curtain went up, Kay took a sip of her tea. Music started playing and a rather oddly outfitted man started to make an attempt at singing and dancing. It was like a bad accident. She couldn't look away yet she wanted to run and hide. "....I guess that the rest of the nearby entertainers were booked." Poor guy. At least they gave him a chance to earn his money. Maybe the others attending would be too drunk already to notice the awkwardness of it all.

[1/20]

"WOO, TAKE IT OFF!"

Came the raucous cry from the bar and the group of five Mandalorians standing, or leaning as the case might be since they worked rather fast where open bars were concerned, as they watched [member="Strider Garon"]s performance. Their hosts might wise up at any time after all.

Because Buruk Squad was Buruk Squad, and did not do fancy dress, their single concession to this being a party and not a war-zone, since they two were often indistinguishable when Mandalorians were involved, was to actually have the safety on the weapons they'd refused to give up engaged and to have their helmets off and hung on their belts, subjecting all those around them to the banter that was normally confined to their squad comm channel.

"D-d'ye reckon they're gonna keep th'bar open?"

"You'll be under the table long before they close it Sasctika."

"'M jest gettin' started!"

"Sure y'are big boy, shuddup and drink yer drink. Anyway, we can always get some credit on here easy enough."

"How d'ya figure that?"

"Gladiatorial match o'course!"

"...We're fighting in one even if the bar stays open aren't we?"

"You're fethin' right we are! Come t'the wheel and not fight in the arena, pft. If y'come here and y'don't kill something, kark something get some credits and then lose 'em again, y'ain't doin' it right."

"Do we have to do the losin' credits bit."

"Do it all."

"Ha! Beragas game, Clan Dardalab puttin ya t'shame!"

"I didn't say I wouldn't, I just wanted to know if we had to."

"Yes."

"Okay."

"Can we go back to the karking bit?"

Bar/Casino

"Thanks, but no thanks, Kad'ika… I'm sticking with good ol' Corellian whiskey for my drink this time around thank you very much. Though, I do rather like private Mando parties from previous experience," the petite smuggler winked as they walked up to the bar.

Eliza had been to The Wheel a few times over the years smuggling things on and off the space station for clients, but never for purely social means. This was going to be interesting. Seemingly the celebration for the Hound of Keldabe was going to be quite the affair from all the advert's posted throughout the facility. Who ever had put this thing together for [member="Strider Garon"] had gone all out even with live entertainment as a male performer dressed in a glitzy outfit took the stage in the casino.

The spirited Corellisi couldn't help herself and started clapping with the rest of the patrons as the grizzled-looking older man began singing and strutting his stuff.

"Oh gods… This guy is a hoot!" Lizzy laughed flashing a lopsided grin [member="Kad Tor"]'s way.

One couldn't move in the circles Veino or Thyria did and not know of [member="Strider Garon"]. The man was a living legend, with the emphasis on living and legend. He was easily one of the oldest still-fighting Mandalorian warriors, which couldn't be said for many of them a third his age. And wonder of wonders, the man was having a birthday party, out at the Wheel. Veino wasn't sure if he'd ever been there before. He'd been travelling so long, he'd lost track of everywhere he'd visited, especially if they were quick stop-overs. Thyria had been there, she'd said, and her emotions were rather conflicted at the memory of the place. So Veino never asked.

Thyria was here today, though, dressed up in a slightly fancier version of her usual outfit. Veino had done the same. Not exactly normal party clothes, but this wasn't exactly a normal party. At least he hoped it wouldn't be. That wouldn't have been worth the trip halfway across the galaxy. He had a feeling that wouldn't be the case though, as the two of them strode out of the docking bays towards the party section. Veino could sense the energy picking up as they neared it. This would be crazy. That was quite certain.

He paused at the entrnaceway and paused as he caught sight of an old man singing. Was he hallucinating? Or was that the actual Strider Garon, one of deadliest warriors in the galaxy, in a sparkly costume and singing? He couldn't quite tell from this angle, so he nudged Thyria and gestured off to the side. He twisted his way between people, watching the man on stage until he could get a better view of the profile. He shook his head. That was indeed Strider Garon.

He laughed and leaned against the wall. That was worth flying halfway across the galaxy for.

There was a commotion around the stage, Alexis turned to look. There was a war whoop then the sound, listening waiting. Alexis looked over at the tea drinker to her left,

The poles where the women generally were grinding poles, and laps everything had been taken out and the stage the only thing left.

Then the curtains opened. "Close your eyes honey" [member="Lady Kay"]

Oh my Goddess was all Alexis could think. Strider was…wearing…something hugely gaudy. Oh god watching him she felt part of her shriveling up and dying.
Stay out of his bedroom…ok, not a problem.

The only heat right now was from everyone wanting to burn the music to this song.

OIH MY GODDESS he’s going to hurt himself singing like that

Alexis grabbed a droid, “Bring me a bottle of whiskey, I don’t care what kind” Alexis sat back, thankful that finally Strider was leaving the stage.

She finally began to laugh, she was watching the reactions around the room. Some thought he had guts getting up there, some though he was insane, gone over the moon of Endor, and then there were others that just sat in shock.

Her eyes were wider as she was looking and there were others there now, more brothers and sisters before she watched the stage with the music and Strider.... Attention going back to her drink as she motion. "I am going to need more... a lot more, just bring the whole cask." She wasn't kidding though while sitting there and watching the sight of it all. All she was wanting to do was scream she was scared for the first time and wait for [member="Garrus Garon"] to appear before she possibly ruined her vision of the clans leader as a man of... something not old leather. "Good thing Basaba isn't here."

Arla could hear the commotion echoing down the halls of the Wheel. It must be a heck of a party in there for [member="Strider Garon"] . oh she knew she should let this go for tonight it was not every day that someone got to reach his age.

Arla needed a drink herself something to help celebrate a wrinkly old man.

Walking into the bar she saw something she prayed she would never see again as long as she lived, and that was Strider in fringe and sparkles. He looked like he was ready to take up with Bobbi the Hutt.

She grabbed a beer from a passing waitress, as she finally was able to take her eyes off Strider she saw someone else.

Was that a Red Hulk? Was that Garrus’ wife.

Holy mother of ……whatever. She is huge…how did they…and..nope not going to entertain that idea.

The old mule must be stronger than she thought. Which meant when training he was holding back, good thing she didn’t need broken bones.

The song was over, he had tortured his fellow guest enough with his magical voice for now. "Thank you, thank you very much!' The old man applauded the cheering crowd and took a bow. Don't know if they were cheering for his bravery and talent or that he was getting off the stage. Either-way the old man had entered his party with a bang and a fashion statement to top it all off. Now it was time to get drunk for he had did this performance far to sober.

Strider jumped off the stage, his frizzles flapping about while he menouvered through the crowd and towards the beautiful organizer of this event. The busty witch had her hands on a bottle of whiskey and what better way to start the night off then drinking with a hot witch that had all the curves in the right places. The old man, still dressed in his 'gaudy' jumpsuit gripped the witch around the waist and quickly planting an affectionate kiss on her lips, then pulled back "Thanks cyar'ika! Thank you for dragging my shebs out here, this is great!!"

He grabbed the whiskey bottle from her hands and poured her a cup and himself one. He looked to his right and noticed another attractive woman he did not recognize. He poured her a cup as well and slid it towards [member="Lady Kay"] . "Enjoy!' His deep resonating voice was directly in conflict with his outfit.

He would then turn his attention back to [member="Alexis Ravensclaw"] "I owe you one!' he said raising a cup in her honor.

Preliat stood silent at the edge of the room. His helmet was off, and his face was locked in it's semi-permanent scowl. Hard to be happy when your wife and kid were stuck in hell, or worse, your brother disappeared, and your people lost a war against a weak, pitiful enemy. But the furrowed brow was lessened for his friend and mentor's birthday. [member="Strider Garon"] had achieved an old age, he was aging- but showed no signs of stopping. Preliat was reminded of his own age, and he was set to turn 32 in the near future.

Preliat approached his friend, but kept his distance. He was busy conversing with some lady, another thing he didn't want to think about. There was a visible cringe across Preliat's features as he glanced around the room. Nobody of interest to talk to. So, he held onto his gift, a neatly-wrapped (gift-wrapping was something that his wife taught how to do expertly), waiting for Strider to finish talking to the floozie.

He sat down at the bar, but ordered and said nothing.

It was one of the oddest spectacles that she had ever seen. True she hadn't been to many parties, not even for herself, so she wondered if this was just how the Mandalorians did it. What was even shocking still was that the entertainment for the evening just happened to be the guest of honour himself.

As he approach and kissed the woman that she was standing near to, Kay moved aside a bit to give them more space. Or maybe they needed a room? She sipped her tea just as the cup of whiskey slid towards her, it's contests sloshing on the counter of the bar. In this kind of place it would be best if she kept her wits about her, so she just slid the cup to the next person at the bar. It was bad enough that she felt overdressed, but how was she to know what kind of a gathering it was going to be?

Kay cradled her tea in her hands and surveyed the room, studying those already inside, not yet losing hope that there were allies to be found here somewhere. If not in this particular room, then maybe somewhere else in the Wheel.

Alexis put her palms on each of Strider’s cheeks they were flush from his singing, “oh Strider dear, how many times do I have to show you how to do this”
Alexis pressed her lips to his, for a brief moment they shared the taste of the whiskey, and for a brief moment Alexis cared less about his reputation, his name, his family, his age and just kissed him.

She pulled away, “See, that’s how to do it” She winked at him, let them all think what they wanted.

It was Strider’s birthday, and she was the organizer. She smacked his bottom lightly, “I owe you 61 more”

She looked at [member="Lady Kay"] who was this again.

Daren was no stranger to parties, but a Mandalorian party? -- he just couldn't miss that. So, he had found himself a transport to The Wheel, where the party was being held and was weaving his way through the people towards the sound of music and general cheer. He was dressed in standard Republic clothing not wanting to draw attention to himself as he passed into the room which was the center of the party. He had arrived just in time to snatch a shot of whisky from the bar that [member="Lady Kay"] had sent further up the bar, away from her. He downed it in one gulp and shivered at the familiar and welcomed sensation of the beverage traveling down his throat.

His life was all politics now, though admittedly he hadn't had much to do with the political nature lately, but he would relish in the time of freedom that he had. He walked up to Lady Kay...

"Senator Kay." he greeted kindly with a slight formal bow and a swift turn as another whiskey shot slid up the bar and landed in his hand. He had to give it to them, they certainly had a way with their alcohol. He welcomed the informal atmosphere of the party as he downed his second shot of whiskey, the faint tingle of inebriation starting in the recesses of his mind.

"The next four rounds are on me." he called over to the bartender, "Bring out the best you've got."
