Ode to Tranquillity [Tionne]

Mission: Build an Embassy or Silver Jedi Temple

The Domain of Tranquillity, so known because there was so much rubble where there used to be opposition clans, High Chief Kinnakar had but three rival clans left over the vast mountainous range of Silnannon. Though all Cordu-Ji were so incredibly Xenophobic, that any such contact by the Silver Jedi was being met with the usual disdain, as all outsiders faced.

Kei, a newly appointed Master, had been sent to try and negotiate the building of a temple, or if not that at least an embassy here to the clan-like four armed Cordu-Ji, which as you can imagine was not being greeted with a great deal of warmth or understanding, least of all by one Kei Amadis who was the last person you really wanted negotiating anything, as his patience was still a virtue he was endeavoring to find…

At the end of a long bridge, standing outside the castle of Chief Kinnakar, a rather impressive old stone fort, he and several dignitaries or company officials from nearby worlds were being kept waiting for an audience. Today was one of the few meetings that the chief took with outsiders, wanting a brand new spaceport and modernisation of the chief’s own territory required a rare opening up of his domain to them, and such things happened but once every few years.

Kei was dressed in camouflaged temple robes, this time to blend in with grey stone and shrub, his black tactical pack stood out a bit, and his black utility belt held his usual saber unity, with a modified blaster carbine slung over his left. A handful of special forces wildcards were with him, along with three or four silver Jedi knights dressed in more traditional Jedi temple robes, or basic light durasteel armor.

Another thing that definitely needed getting used to was other Jedi. They called themselves Silver Jedi, a group of lightsiders which broke off from the Galactic Republic, dissatisfied with their overly militant agenda. In Tionne's time these would be considered a sect, with the Order strongly against such an arrangement, let alone openly supporting them. Thus, a plea for cooperation came as a complete surprise before someone bothered to explain they were on speaking terms with the Silver Jedi. It was expected of her to aid them in their endeavour to establish diplomatic relations with the xenophobic Cordo-Ji. After all, she was the only light sider who knew they language and had first hand experience with their peculiar culture. Additionally, her senses were so attuned she could hear when they communicated on high-pitch frequencies in order to avoid being overheard by off-worlders. In a way, Thanewulf was Silver Jedi's best shot at keeping negotiations civil and unhostile.

"Are you here to invade or negotiate?" a female voice sounded behind the Jedi Master. Tionne chose to wear a long white dress that complemented her frail figure; it was not too loose nor too tight, with no ornaments of any kind. The seam of the dress just barely touched the floor, covering white sandals she wore on her small feet. Ginger hair was arranged in a long braid that meandered down her back, putting forward her symmetric freckled face and almond-shaped, expressive gray eyes. Her gaze trailed up Amadis' garb and mobile armory strapped around his belt.

"You might want to put those away for the time being." she suggested, motioning towards the general area of his groin - "They attract too much attention."
Her own lightsaber was strapped to her thigh, well concealed under her dress. Hopefully, it would remain unused throughout the negotiations.

Checking their vast multitude of weapons, some of the veteran special forces smiled, they could tell a small Amadis line was coming, because they’d all heard it before, a hundred times. “You’d be surprised how often negotiations are invaded.” Kei said simply with a broad grin to the lady, having seen more than his fair share, not realising who Tionne was at this point, and treating her comment in good humour.

Kei had never shied about being a Jedi or telling others so, he was proud of it, and wore it like a symbol to shield others, something they could look to for protection, “they do, that’s the point.” Kei said somewhat directly, he didn’t hide from who he was or those he had to protect, and never had through his life, he was an epicanthix to the core.

Extending out his hand, “names Amadis miss, a Master of the Silver Jedi order, who would you be representing here?” He’d heard of the cooperation between the SJO and the republic, even some exchange programs being set up for padawans, not coming across any directly. Kei was a stubborn old dog by this point. He loved the Silvers and what they represented, freedom, equality, and non-judgement, to him they were the pinnacle of a Jedi order, and why he had dedicated his life to the men and women there.

With that the large dusty front gates were finally opened, and the delegates scrambled to be first to enter for attention, Kei waited back, looking over the men and women with him. For all his self talk about not having patience, he was gaining it, and found no need to jostle for position ahead. Because after a time they all began their walk down a long stone corridor, so long you might think it was used to intimidate guests or build a sense of status for the occupier, and you’d be right.

Welcome, wait. A spindly little Codru-Ji greeted them all, clasping all four of his hands together, and by greeted I mean he past them two worded barks in his native tongue, then ignored everyone while they waited for yet another door to be opened… one or two of the delegates tried to get his attention but he just kept his back to them, not many could speak Codruese after all.

“Well really…” one of the human company representatives at the back, threw up his hands, already losing his own patience. “Shabala” A certain rough looking weequay from one of the groups added, insultingly in Mando’a, but most so far were not complaining, even if they had been kept waiting a few hours now some of the groups, on purpose.

Thanewulf smiled playfully, but did not shake his hand in return. Instead, her own frail hand was extended, literally begging for a courteous peck. The xenophobes they were surrounded with did not need to know two factions of Jedi sent their representatives here. Cordo-Ji needed not to suspect the Republic having any interest in their remote planet.
"I'm not representing anyone, merely aiding you in negotiations. I'm your translator and guide to this ominous society. You may call me Tionne." the redhead offered briefly as they stolled through tall hallways supported by weathered pillars. The Coruscanti briefly glanced backwards to Amadis' entourage, their insignia attracting some attention from other guests of the castle.

"Jedi Knight Tionne Thanewulf is my name. I am a Watchman with Jedi Order of Galactic Republic. But lets skip the formalities, Master Amadis. You may not call me by my surname or rank in this place. Also, you may not speak to this people until I tell you what they are saying. Cordo-Ji know basic, but refuse to speak it. Consider this a friendly warning." the Jedi Knight projected mentally, speaking directly into his mind.
"This will be the way you and me communicate with delicate matters. Do not utter a single word you do not wish them to hear. Cordo-Ji have so sensitive hearing they could hear you urinate from a mile away. Also, they communicate in supersonic pitch which I am able to hear with the aid of the Force. And also understand. I've been here before." she continued telepathically as grey eyes skimmed the perimeter - "Do you have a first name I can use when we talk in the intimacy of our minds?"

She then turned to four-armed majordomo and approached the creature, leaning in to whisper something into his ear. The Cordo-Ji opened his mouth which then moved, but no audible sound came out. He then turned and motioned to the Jedi delegation to follow him, much to the dismay of others waiting for audience.
"I was never fond of standing in lines." said Thanewulf out loud and walked after the majordomo so other Jedi may follow.
