Ode to Ionite

"Oh, that. Thicker armor, heavy shielding, redundant hull bracing, it can be done. For down payment, I would like 210 of the same construction droids, and the rest to be paid in credits upon delivery"

Clearly that ship [member="Rhodes"] asked for bears some resemblance to the Alexandria-class, in that stealth seems to be favored. However, whereas the Alexandria favored long-range firepower, much like the Lothal would, that ship seems to prefer using stealth missiles over direct-fire long-range weapons. Just that an actual military would have a different use for a stealth carrier than a band of Sith, if the client is who she thinks it is. Said Sith can't be everywhere at once, but when they do strike, one has to expect tons of casualties. How many credits would the rest of that be worth, if, with 210 construction droids would net us a down payment for that? she thought, while paying close attention not to overthink. Or to think about too many things at once. But he doesn't suspect that mechu-deru is going to be the main instrument that makes these specfications possible. It seems that Force-using naval architects have to be increasingly skilled with mechu-deru to make it in that field these days...

The crime lord did some quick math in his head. 210 of the droids would remove a considerable swath from the ship's price, and he expected Ferus to pay him back in full anyways. He was happy to get some of the construction droids out of the warehouse regardless. He had been rather inactive with Kalor-Tech as of late, causing a considerable drop in revenue that was beginning to show on the company's quarterly reports. He was planning on revamping the storefront soon, as well as developing some new cutting-edge tech to be sold to the galaxy at large. This deal would serve as a kickstart to the company to get it going again.
"Very well, your two-hundred and ten construction droids will be shipped here within two business days. Transportation vessels for these droids are always available at our storefront, as they will not be able to make it into space without it. My men will begin unloading your forty droids in exchange for the ionite now. I am glad we could come to an accord, and I look forward to doing future business with you and your corporation."
As if on queue, a pair of men would exit his ship pushing a large wooden crate on a large repulsorlift. "Kalor-Tech" was stamped across the side in bright red, as well as the serial number for the package. Janus would give the woman a curt nod and turn around to head back to his ship. He had a meeting to attend.

Usually ships in that size bracket are worth about 60-70 million. If 210 Kalor-Tech droids could make a significant dent into the price, I'm more than satisfied. Still about 50 million left to go, she thought. Then again, the Alliance Navy would be billed about 50 million or so for each Lothal they would get. Now that Rhodes stands ready to leave, she was relieved that she could actually get to work on first rebuilding the Sacul slipway and building the ship they ordered afterward. With 250 construction droids, now that's going to make the restoration of the orbital facilities over Ringo Vinda much faster and much more satisfactory for the residents of the planet. That is going to be the end of it to her. She knows that the Lothal will be delivered in short order, and that ship will be delivered quite a while later. So long as her complement of 250 is in proper working order, everyone is happy and the construction can proceed as agreed upon by the two parties.
