Odd Jobs are Still Jobs (Everyone Welcome!)

Lumi Snow

love, hope, and peace conquer all
Agony. Pain. More of it. And such hostility it was crushing. Through her blindness, Lumi could feel it all less than a few feet away. A pair of voice she could hear arguing through the Macroconsious, like two beings in a shouting match. How did she end up so surrounded by such anger and hostility?

That didn't matter. She needed to help bring this to and end, not through violence but through peace. Peace and love conquered all, always.

Lumi pulled herself up to her hands and knees and began to crawl, crawl towards the conflict. Her muscles ached, her atrophied body barely managed to pull her across the hot sands. The world seemed to spin around her, twisting and turning in a wild cacophony that made her movement even harder. But she had to, she had to make it. She Had to.

Her hand wrapped around the center of the mental fight's foot. ([member="Katelyn Thanewulf"]). With what little strength was left in her failing body she reached out and broke the barrier between their minds. It was incredibly shallow, just enough for basic telepathy, just enough to convey messages. Her strength was failing fast, she had no idea how long she would be able to keep it open, but for now, it was all she could do.

Come to the light. Come back to.... the right way. You can follow it---you are strong enough. You know--the way.... this violence is..... only.. hurting others.......... and yourself........

Lypheen scooted off to the side of the hut to perform the task instead. He wanted to avoid any contact with the others. Once the explosives were wired up, he pressed the button. Still no success. One more wire...

"No! Don't!" he was back in his mind.

"There's no stoppin' him."

"Silence. There is stopping him."

"How?"

Lypheen came back to his senses. The others were stupid. And one was dead. Terminated. But now he was in control. He finished wiring the explosives. He noticed no one was inside the hut anymore, they were just out front. No matter, the blast would at least injure him.

BOOM!

THE MALEVOLENT ONE HAD STRUCK AGAIN
