Obsidian Armaments was founded in 860 ABY as a government corporation. It does not manufacture items for profit, instead serving only as the framework through which the Knights Obsidian are supplied. While it can take requests for custom items from the Knights, such orders must be approved by the Obsidian Council, or privately funded by the individual making the request. Many of the items created are mundane and hold no special properties. However, given the nature of the organization that Obsidian Armaments produces for, there are a number of craftsmen skilled in the art of Force Manipulation that can create imbued or alchemized items.
RATIONALE
Obsidian Armaments was originally founded by Voph shortly after he assumed control of the Knights Obsidian. The Knights Obsidian, to date, had no dedicated manufacturing wing, and most of their equipment was supplied by private companies. Because Voph did not wish the Knights to be beholden to businessmen that were not aligned with the Confederacy's interests, he created Obsidian Armaments and established the Lord Commander of the Knights Obsidian as the "CEO," ensuring that the Knights would have access to cutting edge armaments and armors without need for political games. Funding would be supplied by the Confederate government, and whatever private donors wished to contribute.
