- Extensive Modification: The Observatory-Class Space Yacht can be modified in many different ways. Allowing the owner of this vessel the chance to customize everything from the engines to the communications systems and completely redesign the stock variant to suit their individual needs. The only thing that can't be modified on the yacht is the overall shape and frame of the vessel as that is essential to the overall design and function of the vessel.
- Extensive Cargo Space: The Observatory-Class Space Yacht comes equipped with many areas for storage. Allowing the owner of this vessel the chance to store all kinds of things and still have space to store more inside the vessel. It is also allows the owner to pack up on extra supplies without them getting in the way of the luxury purposes of the yacht.
- Spacious Interior: The Observatory-Class Space Yacht comes equipped with a large interior that can provide almost the luxury of a hotel packed inside of a ship. Allowing the owner to show off all their collections and other ornate items that they may possess without feeling like they are crowded in terms of overall space.
- Weaponry: The Observatory-Class Space Yacht comes equipped with weapons on its hull; allowing the owner of the vessel to defend itself against pirate raids and other marauders that might try to take the cargo inside of the vessel. Also allowing the owner to feel more safe while using this class of yacht during their travels.
- Average Weaponry: Much like it can be a strength; the Observatory-Class Space Yacht only has basic weaponry and defenses on it; this lessens its offensive and defensive capabilities against enemy starships. Which makes it not able to stand up to heavy patrol ships and should steer clear of those types of vessels.
- Lack of Armor Plating: The Observatory-Class Space Yacht wasn't designed for combat and doesn't come with heavy armor plating on its hull; leaving it more vulnerable to damage when the shields go offline or are damaged in conflict with another vessel. This makes it not able to go up against vessels with heavy cannons or other types of heavy weaponry that an enemy may have on the battlefield
The Observatory-Class Space Yacht was designed by Paranoda Mancheron Boggurobb using the EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate and the Minstrel-class space yacht as his starting point before adding in elements of the current line of luxury yacht classes used by the galactic corporations of the modern era. Using aspects of both the nebulon escort frigate and the minstrel class space yacht and using the hull designs from the various other classes; the first protoype was developed by Paranoda Mancheron Boggurobb using the Ancient Skytrooper Factory on Darvannis under the panel of an "Armed Personal Transport" as most of the more standard weaponry was added later down the line to prevent pirate and marauder attacks against the owners of the vessel. The vessel was pressed into service by the Hutt Families due in part to its extensive storage space; and the ability to modify it to suit all there individual needs that they might have. Its average design and weaponry makes it seem not a threat to others; allowing the element of surprise to be maintained when engaging a pirate or marauder vessel that things that it is an easy target to plunder. The Space Yacht doesn't come equipped with any special features; but the strengths of the yacht make it have more benefits than a standard yacht of the same class. Some of the advantages of the Observatory Class is its; Extensive Cargo Space allowing more supplies to be stored for the owner to use. Due in part to its relatively cheap design; the space yacht can be modified to suit any individual needs that the owner of the vessel might have although the stock frame and overall shape can't be modified from the stock variant. With a luxury yacht such as this; the interior is extreme spacious allowing the owner the chance to show off their wealth without it feeling crowded on board. Unfortunately the vessel also has some drawbacks to its design; while it has average shielding; the vessel lacks any heavy armor plating that can protect it once the shielding goes down or is disabled. Allowing an enemy the chance to destroy it with only a good volley's or two from there turbolasers once the shield is offline. The average weaponry of the yacht also is a vulnerability because it can't stand up to an enemy warship in a long drawn out engagement and is certainly not able to go up against the heavier patrol craft that an enemy might have in there possession. This is because in order for it to go through inspection; the weaponry had to be standard issue as to not draw suspicion to the owner of the vessel and bring them unwanted attention to themselves. The vessel also comes equipped with a single fighter craft hanger and can store up to 1 starfighter squadron and 1 support craft squadron in its hanger bays; allowing for the owner of this vessel to defend itself from other starfighter and bombers. The finished product is out of production and will soon be operational for sale to the galaxy's wealthy or people who can afford a vessel of such size for themselves. It is listed as an "Personal Transport" to prevent any trouble with the galactic powers that currently have authority over sectors of the galaxy to which this vessel might find itself in. And better allowing for a surprise against pirates and marauders as they think that the vessel is only an unarmed personal transport that can't defend itself from there attacks on it.
