Description:
The OBL-3 Attack Drone is a step away from its lighter and smaller cousins.
Unlike its predecessors the OBL-3 is far more complex, powerful, and well put together. This weapons platform is a considerable upgrade from its smaller cousins. It has thicker armor plating, smarted programming, and is generally all around 'stronger' than one might expect when given the previous two models of drone that were manufactured by Astraeus Industrial.
These drones do in fact have advanced programming. Though they do not have artificial intelligence, the OBL-3's are far more clever than their smaller cousins. They are able to think independently and figure out tougher situations. They are capable of solving problems and 'hunting' targets down instead of just facing a massive army. This is what makes the OBL-3 Attack drones instead of Defense drones as they are more than capable of going on the offensive. It should be noted however that the OBL-3 was still vulnerable to heavy weapons fire and a single concussion missile can destroy it entirely. The back draw to this is that the OBL-3 is much slower than both of its smaller cousins.
This means that unlike their cousins, the OBL-3's could be considered to be fairly 'smart' compared to other droids and drones.
Their purpose in combat is far more sinister than their smaller cousins. They unlike the OBL-1 and the OBL-2 were designed as hunter killers or as heavy fire support to army units. These drone are given a target and seek it out, being capable of taking on anything from infantry units to light tank divisions, its heavier weaponry and powerful shielding giving it enough survivability and damage output to survive not just one but several engagements.
Unlike the OBL-1 and OBL-2 The OBL-3 is hardly seen working together with others of its kind. Instead the OBL-3 is assigned to individual units, spreading around the fire support that the heavy Drone can provide.
