CULTURE
The people of Oberon consist of a very wide diversity of humans from across the galaxy, most races of humans can be found on this planet. However their culture is not seen within the one major city of this planet. The culture has become a stand alone and unique itself rather than a blend of all the diverse races of humans that inhabit it. The reason being Is that in the beginning the first king of Oberon had abolished any form of culture identity to bring the races closer together and over time bond and walk into the light hand and hand. The people of this planet are a very tricky race of who go by customs that would be considered strange even for most people in this galaxy.
Customs- The people of Oberon believe that gifts are non existent and should not be given. There is a saying in the planets around Oberon, "never accept a gift from child of Warren."The reason why is because they will trick you into forced work and slavery until the debt of their "gift" is repaid. They however do not tell you the consequences of accepting a gift from them.
Gender Roles: Oberon is a very female dominate world in terms of its leadership. When the first queen came into power she proclaimed that the men were not to have any position of power when it came to the throne. so her husband and former king Warren would be the only king in history. The champions chosen by the queen are responsible to act as their general to the small army the queen has beneath her.
Men: The men of the planet are generally treated as work horses to the massive amounts of produce the planet puts out, that is not saying women do not tend the plow as well but it is a predominantly males who farm and harvest the planet. Most men in the capital usually end up as packagers, general labor workers, repair technicians, and the occasional soldier for the army.
Women: Women are regarded as being more or less in charge, most tribe leaders are women following the traditional ways of women of summer. But women who are not leaders generally serve as the care takers of children, watching and loving for their families. For the women who choose not to live in the nomadic tribes of Oberon and choose a more luxury filled life in the capital their work lives consist of book keeping various produce companies, managing, and serving in small positions appointed by the queen to tend the day to day operations of the city. Generally women serve in more of the logistic side of the planet but they are allowed to work the lands with the men if they feel it is their calling.
Children: The children of the planet grow up in two different manners. For the wandering tribes and farmers of Oberon the children are raised by their families, but the village elders usually school and teach the children about the ways of Warren and living off the land, most of them begin work at the age of thirteen when raised in tribes.
Children in the capital are sent to school and are taught in a more formal manner in the teachings of Warren and their history with a basic education until they reach the age of eighteen. Once they have finished schooling the children of the capital usually go into business working for the various produce companies that hire out to tend the crops surrounding the capital.
Life in nature: Most of the people on the planet follow the path of nature and decide to live only in the wild away from the capital mostly in small villages and nomadic tribes that live off the land as farmers who sell the fruits to the capital city who then sell it to the galaxy. Seventy percent of the people of the planet live this farming and nomad life and although they do not have the luxuries of the capital they are happy to simply live a life with nature and serve the rulers of the planet with their labor. Farming is a big way of life on Oberon and the people enjoy it, most only use the money they make to buy more equipment to continue their service.
Long life- Due to the two suns of the system the planet is never shrouded in darkness unless a lunar eclipse occurs, eternal light and summer always reigns upon the planet causing various fruits and vegetables to grow. And due to their healthy diet and active life styles the people of Oberon normally live to be well over the age of one hundred normally spanning into the high one twenties and low thirties before death.
Warren: The god in the eyes of the people of Oberon. It is their belief that Warren reigns over eternal summer from the heavens and to follow his teachings is to secure a spot in the afterlife. His ways are to forsake greed and money and live a life with nature and summer. To love and and defend your home from invaders no matter the cost, for what is lost can be rebuilt so long as you work towards, for they will come and take what is yours and spit upon the graves they bury you in.
Women of Summer: The "government" of Oberon is ran by three women in reality, they serve in the eyes of the people as the chosen ones by Warren to run the kingdom after his ascension into the heavens. The Women of summer consist of three different roles.
The Summer Queen: Serving as the ruler of the planet the summer queen resides in the capital city. She is the planets ruler and her word is law. The queen is a direct descendent to Warren himself and is the most fitting to lead the people of the planet and provide them with the technology and equipment to allow the people to harvest the fruits of their labor. Each of the summer Queen 's are expected to pick a champion of her people. With every new queen comes a new champion.
The Summer Champion: Serving as the knight of the queen the champion is responsible for defending Queen and country in the capital city. Other duties of the knight is to father a child with the queen to serve as the heir to the throne so the cycle always continues and a queen will be there. Male children are often given to the nomadic tribes of planet at birth to serve as farmers for the kingdom.
The Summer Mother: Once the queen becomes too old for her position she retires to either live out her days alone or to serve as advisor to the current queen. Most mothers tend to live their days in peace due to the fact that they had been serving most of their lives in a very stressful position of power.
The Summer Lady: The princess of the world, the summer lady is next in line for queen. Her jobs and duties are often not very extensive normally only dealing with diplomatic missions and envoy's. her life is considered that of a more party and carefree lifestyle since when she takes the crown she will no longer have time for the more pleasurable things in life. She will have to pick a champion and bear an heir for the kingdom as all queens before her had done.

635 ABY - 640 ABYFounding: In the beginning there was Arcadia N-30 or New Arcadia as the locals called it. A world ran by greed and marketing, and from Arcadia a man was spawned. A man who did not agree with the ideals of the planet. A powerful force user by the name of Edward Warren, serving as the personal advisor and guard to the president of Arcadia at the time Warren decided that he needed a break from his duties to find himself in this galaxy. Upon wandering wild space he visited many planets from jungle, to crystal, to the frozen worlds of wild space until he found something that moved him beyond all compare. A beautiful lush green world that night never fell upon, a world that was overgrown and empty of mammals and life except the nature and forests that consumed it. The planet sat in a unique spot in the solar system between three suns suns so the dark never saw it.
It moved the man so much that he decided to return to Arcadia to gather followers to come to the planet and colonize a new way of life on it. To throw down their greed and meaningless lives devoted to money to live among the love of eternal summer and lush green life of the planet. So now on his mission Warren took to the streets of Arcadia to gather all the people he could to bring them to this new world. Being a market world Arcadia had almost every fruit and vegetable known to the galaxy on it. So taking a freighter packed with his followers he bought the seeds of every organic fruit or vegetable that could grow in temperate weather and brought them to the new planet he had discovered in wild space. Once arriving to the planet Warren christened the planet Oberon after the eternal god of the sun, one of the many religions on the planet Arcadia. Though being seen at as a god his followers looked to him for guidance in the new ways he had taught. After laying down the laws of the land and abolishing culture identity the people soon cultivated the planet growing almost all forms of plant and vegetables in the galaxy on Oberon. It was almost a garden of Eden so to say, but over time as all things Warren aged and eventually died leaving only his wife and daughter. This lead to the founding of the capital.
645 ABY - 657 ABY Summer's Love founding: Proclaiming herself Summer's Queen Warren's wife Lilly ruled over the people of Oberon and saw exactly what her husband had left her with. Dirty squaller and untapped potential that could be harnessed to make Oberon a huge player in wild space. So her daughter and Summer Lady Amalia founded the capital city of Summer's Love. Taking the various fruits and foods that now grew on the planet she established the city as a trade hub to ferry them off world to the neighboring planets of Arcadia and Olvan to be bought or traded for farming technology and credits. After many successful runs the people of Oberon prospered in their growing city. However most of the people did not agree with living in the large city and formed their own tribes to live off the land and on their own accord. But within her old age Queen Lilly was wise and allowed the the people to leave and live as they saw fit. Being with less and less products to sell to Arcadia the capital city was thrust into economic despair until Queen Lilly stepped down as queen to become the first summer Mother and allow the current Lady to become queen. Little did she know the ambition she had, or what her daughter would bring upon the peaceful people of Oberon.
657 ABY - 665 ABYThe Red Queen of Summer Amalia: Being thrusted into the position of queen at the age of twenty six the new Queen looked upon the flailing capital and decided it was time for a change. Forming a new law the Queen proclaimed that every queen must have a champion to father future queens and protect the kingdom. Once her new law came into effect Amalia became obsessed with returning the capital to its former glory, so she took a champion from off world. A powerful Sith from the planet Aurum, filling her head with madness and the dark side the sith advised her that the only way to bring the capital back was to find the wandering tribes of the planet and murder enough of them and subjugate them to work the plow to bring back the life sustaining foods of the world to be sold once more. So being young and easily corrupted by the dark side of the force the young queen agreed and saw to it that the tribes would be put to the sword if they were not to join the capital and provide tribute.
668 ABY The Night of the Blood Moon: No one in the capital would allow the slaughtering of innocent people on Oberon so help had to be found off world to a planet known simply as Dredd (To be subbed after approval of Oberon) . A place of scum and villainy, the Summer Champion gathered enough of the local guns for hire to come back and begin the mass slaughter and subjugation of the nomadic tribes. Upon the day of the eclipse of the moon of Puck darkness fell over the land of eternal summer and the slaughter began. Forcing the tribes to become one with the capital and pay tribute many died and when the eclipse had passed Amalia's victory was complete and in the following months tributes of produce were paid and the capital flourished under her iron reign for years to come.
687 ABY The Return of Light: The spawn of the sith and the red queen Summer's Lady Josephine, a more kind and gentle child she grew up reading the original teachings of her grand father Warren. And in her readings she could see that this was not the way he would of wanted it to be. Her mother and queen at the time Amalia killed any and all who dared defied her. So Lady Josephine at the age if nineteen traveled off world to the core worlds where in the drunken billows and partying of republic world of Zeltros Josephine found a former jedi master to proclaim as her champion to lead a rebellion against her mother. Violence was the only way to stop her as the sith had corrupted her too far by now.
687 ABY - 690 ABY The war of Oberon and the exile of Queen Amalia: On return to the capital Lady Josephine rallied the disembodied tribes with her to march upon Summer's Love and retake the capital from the evil that had ensnared it. over the course of three years the bloody rebellion was waged, but with her champion at her side the whole time the people of Oberon struck down the Sith Lord and banished Amalia to become the exiled mother of summer where she would spend the rest of her days in cottage in the forests of Oberon destined to die alone for the sins she had committed upon the people.
690 ABY - 736 ABY Queen Josephine the Brave: Being released to live upon their own again the tribes of people were so grateful of Josephine that they agreed to still pay tribute to the capital in produce to see the kind Queen succeed and keep the capital afloat and in return the queen would gift them with the tools and equipment for them to have more comfortable lives and live with nature. With her champion they brought forth the next generation of heirs to the throne until her retirement into the summer mother and eventually into her grave. Queen Josephine would forever stand as one of the most iconic and greatest queens of the planets history. For years and years to come.
