SPECIAL FEATURES

• Lightsaber Nullifier - Contained in the plastod shell behind the axe-head is a small lightsaber nullifier, only powerful enough to disrupt a lightsaber when in contact with the blade. Having a similar effect as cortosis, but with a fundamentally different mechanic, bypassing cortosis' weakness to certain lightsaber crystals. Due to heat restrictions, the nullifier is not turned on permanently but must be temporarily activated by a pressure switch on the handle.
• Sarrassian Iron - The Sarrassian Iron used in the blade resonates strongly with the dark side of the force, enhancing the potency of dark side abilities used by the wielder.
• Sith Blade - Being able to clash with lightsabers, being preternaturally tough, being extremely sharp, and being able to deflect a laser if the user is skilled enough to use the ungainly weapon in such a way.
• Armour Piercing - Enhanced by Sith Alchemy, the blade can cut as if it were a lightsaber, using pure force energy, a way around the commonplace methods of lightsaber protection.

STRENGTHS

• Lightsaber Nullifier - The lightsaber nullifier installed in the blade allows for the axehead to cut directly through a lightsaber blade, disabling it for a few critical seconds, excellent for catching a foe off guard if they are unaware of the weapon's capability.
• Alchemized Blade - The blade of the weapon is enhanced by Sith Alchemy, giving it the usual benefits of such, as well as strengthening the cutting ability.
• Dark Side Resonance - The weapon resonates heavily in the dark side, enhancing the powers of a Sith or other darksider using the weapon.
• Cuts deep - The weapon can cut as if it is a lightsaber blade without the usual weaknesses of a lightsaber's blade, such as Beskar and Cortosis.

WEAKNESSES

• Ranged Defence - Due to the shape of the weapon, even though it is technically possible to block blaster rounds with it, it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and might as well be considered useless for that purpose.
• Two-Handed - Since the weapon is two-handed, unless the user has more arms than the average person, they can not wield additional equipment to help in offence or defence and use the weapon at the same time.
• EMP/Ion - Due to the mundane electronic components in the Lightsaber Nulifier, it is susceptible to EMP and Ion weapons disabling it.
• Dying Light - Because the Dark Side resonates so strongly with the weapon, it is anathema to lightsiders who will feel sick and weakened at best, or be in violent agonizing pain at worst. The effect is stronger on those who are more in tune with the light side.
• Force Protection - Items enhanced to protect against direct use of the force completely nullify the alchemical enhancements that allow the weapon to cut as if a lightsaber, leaving it no stronger than a regular alchemized blade.
• Force Null/Suppression - When entering an area where the force is suppressed or otherwise blocked, the weapon loses all force enhancements and its ability to enhance the dark side, though the lightsaber resistance of the blade is retained as it comes from changes made to the material at a base level when alchemy was used in it's creation.

DESCRIPTION

With her planet developing and plans moving forward without the need for as much of her attention, Darth Morta moved onto personal projects, experimenting with the force and its capability to make weapons far more deadly than the mundane.

With a blade forged from the heart of a dead star in the Stygian Caldera, creating the same conditions for producing Sarrassian Iron so long ago. Darth Morta spent days labouring over the force rituals discovered in the depths of the Krayiss II Library-Temple to imbue the blade with the ability to "Sever bonds, vows, and fates by delivering a shard of destined death to those struck by the weapons crafted with this incantation." A side effect of the incantation oven into the weapon being a particularly nasty one is that those in tune with the dark side find their abilities enhanced, while those in tune with the light side of the force find touching the weapon painful to touch and weakened by extended contact. The longer the contact is with the weapon, and the stronger the person is attuned to the lightside, the worse the effects are, though the pain is entirely psychosomatic and leaves no lasting damage other than the weakness, which takes a few minutes to hours to recoup, depending on the length of contact.

Though Morta suspected the language used was mere hyperbole, it did enhance the weapon's lethality far beyond that of a normal alchemized blade and inspired the name she would give it, Oathcarver. Although the trade-off of being able to strike through materials like Phrik and Beskar that would stop a lightsaber was that even the most basic protections from the force protect from this enhanced strength, leaving only the basic enhancement of an alchemized blade.

With this weakness in mind, Morta dove into every archive she could access, and many more that she should not have been able to, but did anyway, finding the basic description of how a Lightsaber Nullifier worked. She was unable to build a model small enough that could fit into the protected area on the haft behind the blade Morta was able to make it so while activated, something it could only do for short times due to overheating issues, the blade itself could nullify the blade of any lightsaber it touched for a few seconds.
