SPECIAL FEATURES

• Integrated Blaster Suppressor with toggle, incompatible with particle bolt function. The selector is located above the trigger guard on the exterior side of the frame, beside the X-Citer power calibrator.
• Integrated targeting systems for sighting, tracking and ammunition display can link-up with Itzhal's helmet and HuD.
• Standard iron sights and mounting rail for detachable optics.
• Toggle to switch between standard blaster bolts and particle bolts, through the use of an amplifying chamber. The selector switch is located within the rear stock of the weapon.
• Toggle for lethal and stun settings. The selector is located above the triggers on the interior side of the frame.

STRENGTHS

• Versatility: Designed for adaptability on the field, Itzhal's custom Westar models are capable of distinct firing options, from battlefield situations where standard bolts or particle beams might be more useful to quieter operations that require a blaster suppressor. As standard for most blasters, the weapon is also capable of firing a stun bolt, though only effective at close ranges.
  
  
• High Power: In a battlefield situation, the heavily modified Westar models are capable of producing a high quantity of powerful bolts in a very short period of time. Combined with the amplifying chamber creating unstable particle bolts, it is possible to bombard an area in little to no time.

WEAKNESSES

• Compromises: Although the blaster suppressor is useful for commando operations where stealth is required, the modifications to reduce the firing profile of the weapon also have a negative effect on the blaster's range and damage output. The process that creates particle bolts is also incompatible with the blaster suppressor and will fail to fire when both modes are activated simultaneously.
  
  
• Ammunition: Due in part to the modifications made, neither of Itzhal's pistols are conservative with their ammunition and drain a standard power cell exceptionally quickly in a combat situation.

DESCRIPTION
Originally dated to the first centuries of the Ruusan Reformation, Itzhal's original Westar models were created by Concordian Crescent Technologies and would serve as inspiration for centuries of Mandalorian suppliers, including the later Westar-35 model. Sadly, over a thousand years of blaster technology progress and a lack of maintenance had worn out the old model. As a result, Itzhal has been forced to upgrade his pistols with a variety of up-to-date components, leaving very little of the original pistols in the process apart from their distinctive shape.

Using a mixture of his previous expertise and the information he's been able to piece together about recent developments, Itzhal has reforged the barrels of his former pistols in Dallorian alloy, dramatically reducing the heat buildup that naturally builds up from these fast-firing weapons in the thick of combat. Internally, the weapon uses durasteel to cover the exterior of key components, including the amplifying chamber, which can convert tibanna gas into variable power settings, such as high-density particle bolts at maximum power, and the induction chamber, which can be regulated as part of the blaster suppression systems for a much quieter shot. Externally, a mixture of durasteel and duraplast is used for the weapon casing to protect it from combat damage and environmental factors that would wear away the internal components. For a comfortable grip, a segment of fibermesh has been implemented and custom-built for the pistol's grips.

A versatile blaster for a Mandalorian often left to wander by himself, the rebuilt Westars are capable of quietly dispatching foes with near-silent shots at close range or tearing through enemy forces in a stream of high-powered blaster bolts delivered as quickly as he can pull the trigger.
