SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Highly modular: This droid frame can essentially support any and all imaginable parts from any company, allowing for a wide range of uses as the basis for combat droids, security droids, construction droids, etc...
  • Standard resistances: Due to the material mock up of the skeleton and internals, this frame already possesses a resistance against elemental weaponry and thus also atmospheric conditions and energy weaponry.
STRENGTHS
  • No Limit: Due to the design of the frame and its high modularity, this frame can be used in essentially an unlimited variety of applications and designs, from combat droids to construction droids. This makes this frame a very good basis for both large scale, mass produced droid designs from any company due to its accessibility and small scale, unique projects for tinkerers and the likes.
  • Base resistances: This frame can boast standard higher resistance against elementally related circumstances such as heat, heat based weaponry, extreme cold, etc and has a higher level of resistance against energy based weaponry or circumstances due to the used materials for its mock up.
WEAKNESSES
  • No plating: As this is a mere open, unplated frame, though the skeleton itself may resist energy, extreme heat and extreme cold to a very high degree, with exposed internals, it is still not sensible to try and test that resistance, thus making the frame itself rather useless without proper additional protection being applied.
  • Acid burn: Due to the exposed internals, acid is especially effective in rendering these frames unusable.
DESCRIPTION
When the N&Z Umbrella Corporation sought to rationalize its assets and line ups, one of the more obvious answers was to start building a solid foundation or basis for a large number of its products, to lower the amount of overhead and production costs, while not having to compromise on quality and testing. The first of these so-called foundation products was thus being designed within its facilities located on Schesa, as it was located close to the R&D headquarters of a major faction's military to provide some additional tests in regards to application and use of this first foundation product. The foundation product in question was the Theta-type modular droid frame, with the name making sense as it would be the basis for the eventual planned successors of the succesful zeta-type droid lines of the company's Nargath Holdings subsidiary.

The Theta-type modular droid frame was constructed out of an impervium reinforced Ersteel 145 compound which would form a solid basis for the most basic ammeneties a frame could have, such as the gyroscopic servo motors, the gyro stabilizers and the various mounting points for equipment and weaponry. This skeletal, material mock up also would provide the droid designs based on this frame a very sturdy and reliable foundation when it came to elemental resistances such as extreme heat and extreme cold and energy based weaponry or materials, thus making sure that the basis of any future droid design using this frame would have a distinctive advantage in terms of varied use and applications beyond being a mere combat droid basis.

As the skeleton of the frame had also been built with the option of being adapted for construction droids in mind, the frame sadly is a lot weightier than the more flexible and agile frames usually seen on specialized combat or assassin droids, thus somewhat limiting the frame's use in that regard, though any good engineer or tinkere(r may still find a way to adapt or rework these issues given the right amount of time, materials to work with and adequate technology at hand.
