PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Can be scaled down to the size of a slugtip without losing both functionality and processing power
  • Can be used in conjunction with any other ZEUS, KRONOS, ATLAS, PROTON MkI droid brain in order to create a serial system and in order to boost the main brain's processing power.
  • Works very well in conjunction with bio-organic systems due to its unique data transfer method.
  • Unique data transfer method, utilizing thermal conduction and magnetic induction rather than gabonna crystals, making slicing a wholly different experience and virtually impossible without the proper tools.
STRENGTHS
  • Versatile: This model of droid brain can be scaled down from it's usual size of around a child's clenched fist to the size of a small caliber bullet-tip, making it extremely useable for small applications, as an additional back up droid brain and as a means to regulate larger droids and machines more efficiently due to the ease of placement.
  • Bio-compatible: Due to its unique form of data transfer, the Neuron works very well with bio-structures, granting it great capacity in cybernetics and bio-enhancements.
  • Very hard to slice: Because of its unique form of data transfer, methods for cracking electrical circuits in standard forms have little effect and those who know how to configure gabonna crystals have no use for said knowledge when cracking these droid brains.
  • Good EMP resistance: While the EMP resistance does not effectively safeguard the entire system this droid brain is part of, it is a good way to retain memory, safeguard information and sensitive codes in case of retrieval.
WEAKNESSES
  • Higher Tier means obey: While the Neuron like all other uniquely N&Z droid brains is very hard to slice, it is easier when one realizes all one needs is a higher tier of N&Z droid brain to coerce access. While still not as easy as opening a door, this is the backdoor to the resistance against slicing.
  • Difficult to combine: The Neuron due to its intricate design and complexity is notoriously difficult to combine with non-N&Z sanctioned systems and materials, meaning that if used on systems and with systems which have not been worked on with the N&Z or any of its associates, the results may vary wildly.
  • Pretty darn expensive and hard to repair: Though upon acquirement they are not at all expensive, the fact that most utilized technology and materials for the Neuron are either only available or known to the N&Z umbrella Corporation and it's subsidiaries, makes it near impossible to have it repaired, converted or upgraded by any other company that is not affiliated to the N&Z.
DESCRIPTION
The success of the Proton Mk I auxiliary droid brain was an unexpected boon for the N&Z and this single product was partially responsible for the company's survival during the lean years. However, with the product now reaching it's fifth decade of production, despite still being quite useful and widely applied, a smaller, more competent version was envisioned by the top brass of the N&Z in order to propell the company's product lines into the next millenium. With the advent of new bio-cyber creations, bio engineered electrical systems and biots, the best way to counter these new discoveries and inventions, was to further boost the power and capacity of the smallest possible quantum computing droid brains, allowing for a massively widespread use in both civilian and military applications and allowing it to effectively combine with biological neuron networks if this was necessary (hence the appropriately chosen Neuron name)

The engineers at EnSol worked tirelessly, utilizing previously unthought of solutions, utilizing miniature applications of already downsized tech from previous iterations of the N&Z droid brains, utilizing the new methods learned from the newest generation of quantum computing, and combining all this knowledge in a never before seen scaleable package which would be capable of supporting entire systems or act as support to main droid brains as a process power booster and overclocking mechanism. With newly written and devised coding, utilizing a miniaturized internal magnetic field generator and an electrum-neutronium alloy induction coil, the Neuron will be the droid brain to hail in the future of the N&Z and the future of Tech in general.
