- Intent: To codify the Nymvar Ash as a rare, Force-reactive hardwood whose resin is the sole organic source of Aegisite, the only known containment medium for Hollowite's null-field.

- Name: Nymvar Ash
- Origins: Native to Veridia , Centerra, & near by planets
- Other Locations: Cultivation is near impossible outside Hollowite-rich bedrock; offworld transplants fail to produce viable resin.
- Classification: Hardwood tree.
- Average Growth Cycle: Requires ~50 standard years to mature before resin production; can live for up to 300 years if undisturbed.
- Viability: Thrives only in high-altitude, Hollowite-rich soils with strong seasonal temperature swings. Requires abundant sunlight, low humidity, and mineral-laden meltwater.
- Description: Pale-grey bark with fine striations, silver-green leaves with a waxy finish, and deep resin channels in the heartwood. Resin glows faintly in the presence of Force sensitive being or Force activity.
-
- Average Height: 18–24 meters.
- Average Length: N/A
- Color: Bark – light grey to silvery; leaves – silver-green; resin veins – amber-gold when dormant, pale blue-white luminescence under Force influence.
- Nutritional Value: None significant to humanoids; leaves are mildly bitter and unpalatable. Flowers and fruit can be made in to tea.
- Asterlight Tea
- Source: Petals of the Nymvar Aster.
- Look: Glowing pale blue-white; brighter with Force activity.
- Taste: Light floral sweetness with notes of pear and vanilla; faint cool mint aftertaste.
- Aroma: Fresh mountain air, white tea, and wildflower honey.
- Effects:
- Minor Force sensitivity boost (1–2 hrs)
- Calm focus
- Gentle warmth in cold
- Source: Fruit of the Nymvar Ash.
- Look: Oval, silver-blue skin scattered with tiny bioluminescent specks; pale, glowing core with starburst seeds.
- Taste: Sweet and juicy, like pear with a hint of citrus and melon.
- Uses: Eaten fresh, brewed into glowing cordials, or candied.
- Special Trait: Glow intensifies in presence of Force energy.
- Risks: Overindulgence can cause euphoria, heightened Force sensitivity, and vivid Force-induced visions.
- Asterlight Tea
- Toxicity: Non-toxic to most species unless consumed in large quantities (causes nausea).
- Other Effects: Resin exhibits Force-reactive luminescence. Hardened resin acts as an organic crystal lattice capable of sealing Hollowite's null emissions.
- Distinctions: Resin channels spiral around the heartwood in a helical pattern unique to each tree; these crystalline alignments are "tuned" by Hollowite in the soil. Glow patterns vary with environmental Force intensity.
- Nymvar Resin
- Look: Amber-gold when dormant, with silver spiral inclusions; shifts to pale blue-white glow under Force influence.
- Texture: Glassy and smooth when hardened; tacky and cool when fresh.
- Traits: Glow pulses faintly; refracts light into shimmering arcs.
- Uses: Refined into Aegisite to contain Hollowite's null-field; prized for decorative inlays and ceremonial tools.
- Risks: Prolonged contact during Force resonance can cause mild sensory distortion or involuntary visions.
Strengths:
- Produces Nymvar Resin – the only known organic substance capable of forming Aegisite.
- Natural Force Activity Detector – resin and blossoms glow in response to Force presence.
- Culinary & Medicinal Value – petals brew into Asterlight Tea; fruit (Hollowglow Pods) valued for taste, mild Force attunement, and trade.
- High Durability – heartwood is dense, resilient, and resistant to decay in harsh climates.
Weaknesses:
- Extremely Slow Growth – viable resin harvest takes decades.
- Strict Habitat Needs – only thrives in Hollowite-rich, high-altitude conditions; transplants fail.
- Overuse Side Effects – excessive ingestion of petals, fruit, or prolonged resin contact may cause disorientation, heightened Force sensitivity, or uncontrolled visions.
- High Poaching Risk – rarity and unique properties make it a black-market target.

The Nymvar Ash was first documented in early High Republic survey logs, though its true value went unnoticed for centuries. Local wardens of Nymvar's Groves understood the tree's Force-reactive nature long before outsiders, tending the groves in near-religious secrecy. Its hardened sap, later named Nymvar Resin, was eventually identified as the key to neutralizing Hollowite's dangerous null-field, allowing it to be contained safely in Aegisite.
Imperial science teams under Project Obsidian Bark attempted large-scale cultivation and genetic engineering to bypass its environmental dependencies. All such attempts failed, with transplanted trees producing only inert resin. Smuggling of wild-harvested Nymvar Ash wood and resin has been an ongoing black-market trade, though most off world trees do not survive transplant.
