PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Slave-Rigged — This ship has a slave circuit system which has significantly reduced the manpower requirements of the Numerator-class.
  • All Around — The Numerator-class has a sufficient amount of speed, armaments, defense features, and support from its complement, to challenge most ships in their size bracket.
  • Carrier — The Numerator-class has increased hangar capacity which allows this ship to carry more small craft.
  • Rapid Launch — The Numerator was equipped with catapult pressor system which allows this assault frigate to launch starfighters in rapid succession
WEAKNESSES
  • Exposed Bridge — The command bridge of the Numerator-class is located inside a tower structure which is an easy target for enemy harassment.
  • EMP Weapons — The Numerator-class does not have adequate resistance to weapons or natural phenomena that cause electrical disturbances.
  • Slave Rigged — Because a significant portion of the Numerator-class has been automated, this ship has increased vulnerability to Slicing and EMP weaponry.
  • Dorsal Firing Arc — The heaviest weapon emplacements of the Numerator-class are situated on the topside of this ship, which leaves its ventral area noticeably vulnerable to ship-to-ship combat.
  • Exposed Rear — The aft section of the ship completely lacks any weapon emplacements, which leaves the engines of the Numerator-class vulnerable to enemy harassment.
  • Maneuverability — The Numerator-class is unable to swerve away from fast moving objects, like an asteroid, or a last-ditched suicidal run.
DESCRIPTION

The Federal Cooperative received a contract in 801 ABY from a consortium of sectoral governments to create a series of frigates. Rather than reinventing the wheel, the Federal Cooperative decided to base the new class on the Vindicator-class, an antiquated design from the Sienar Fleet Systems. Aside from slight differences in their dimensions, a significant source of difference between the new hull and the Vindicator-class, would be the incorporation of a reconfigurable ventral frame to allow interchangeable modules to be rapidly replaced to extend the shelf life of the ship hull.

The consortium of sectoral governments wanted the Federal Cooperative to develop three variants: 1.) general purpose frigate, 2.) surveillance frigate, and 3.) missile frigate. The Numerator-class would fulfill the role of general purpose frigate. Instead of equipping the ventral frame with additional sophisticated equipment, the design team would expand the hangar and install additional rooms to increase the ship's capacity to carry troops. This would allow the Numerator-class to bring more military assets to any mission, allowing the ship to more effectively operate independently or serve as an escort ship.
