DESCRIPTION

The NSLR drone carrier began as a basic bulk freighter design, which was repurposed to carry as many drone squadrons as is possible. All sacrifices have been made in the pursuit of maximum capacity, and the ship itself is barely worthy of being called a warship. All of its defensive and offensive potential lays in its large central hangar, and the craft deployed from there. It has only a quartet of quad-laser turrets on the dorsal and ventral surfaces located port and starboard, bow and aft for its own protection. The hangar itself runs the length and width of the ship, with openings at the bow and stern.

While the main hangar is open to space, the ship is incredibly vulnerable, and a wise Captain will close the pylons once they have launched their fighters. Even with this precaution, the ship itself is not designed to fight directly, it is best sheltered under the cover of more capable warships until the time comes to resupply its small craft.

The ship has berths for its drone pilots, as well as the maintenance and repair staff, and the ship's own crew. A pair of linked droid and drone control centers allow the pilots to maintain real-time control of their drones from the safety of the carrier.
