  • Extremely swift and agile.
  • Small carrying lockers to transport supplies and ammo.
  • Powerful sensors and life form scanners to hunt for enemy infantry.
  • Piloted by intelligent droid brain.
STRENGTHS
  • Hybrid: Like its larger cousin, the Strider is capable of switching between an insectile walker form and a treaded tank form to navigate different types of terrain.
  • Speed Demon: In either of the above forms, the Strider is extremely fast, capable of chasing most forms of speeder craft on even terms.
  • Eagle Eye: The Strider possesses an array of powerful sensor modules, similar to those on the Nightcrawler, in an even more mobile body.
  • Ant Farm: The vehicle is generally deployed in small formations of 2-6 individual droids, and in numbers can damage light vehicles with its repeating blasters.
WEAKNESSES
  • Low Firepower: Though it can effectively engage infantry with its two repeaters, it is mostly helpless against anything more armored than a light vehicle.
  • Softshell: The Strider does possess shield generators and armor, but these will not suffice to fend off anything heavier than small arms fire, and it is easy prey for anti-vehicle measures.
  • Ion Vulnerability: The droid's advanced brain and delicate sensor equipment are especially vulnerable to Ion weapons.
DESCRIPTION

The NRH came about when battlefield data showed a need for a very small, all-terrain vehicle to accompany recon units in the pursuit of their duties.

Standing at around 2.6 meters in height when in walker mode, the Strider doubles down on the advantages of the Nightcrawler (which it is frequently seen alongside), being both very quick and small enough to accompany infantry into tight alleys or indoor areas.

The droid is capable of switching quickly between a hexipedal walker form that can climb rough terrain or even scale vertical surfaces, and a tank form for quicker travel over long distances. In either configuration, it is extremely fast and agile, capable of ducking through storms of gunfire to pounce on the unlucky operator.

Most importantly, the droid is equipped with powerful life form scanners, as well as broad-spectrum visual, auditory, and many other sensors. These allow it to detect a broad range of threats, and it is also equipped with the intelligence and initiative to respond to these threats if need be.

The droid is armed with a pair of Herald repeating blasters, allowing it to project a blizzard of anti-infantry firepower over long ranges, and when in walker mode can use its sharpened climbing claws as weapons.

These droids are programmed with devious, somewhat skittish personalities, and generally operate in a pack, surrounding and harassing larger targets when direct force fails. They are rarely (if ever) seen alone, most often deployed in small formations of two to six droids, or alongside infantry needing light fire support.

The NRH is fairly fragile, capable of absorbing small-arms fire or lightsaber strikes with relative grace, but folding quickly under even moderate anti-armor firepower. Its ranged armament, while capable against enemy personnel, struggles against anything harder than a light vehicle, and these droids will most often swarm larger targets in unison, picking away at them with their razor-sharp, saber-resistant claws.
