The Jedi Master Dune Rhur looked up from his lesson. He'd been asked to teach the learners here and was happy to oblige. Today's lesson had been about something he knew well. The history of Bith in the Galactic Republic.

There was a disturbance in the Force. He visibly shuddered as he felt the fear and pain reverberate. Something horrible was happening not so far away. His attention was brought back to the class by the insistent question of a youngling.

"Yes...I'm alright," he replied quietly. "I think that will be all for today."

They'd all filed out a few moments later and Dune quickly walked towards the Council chambers. He could feel the tension in the other Knights and Masters as many of them joined him there. They'd felt it too. Yutan needed to be contacted but he knew the younger students were a priority.

He picked a pair of Knights and their learners to account for the youth. They were to round them up and bring them to the common area. Once they were safe they were to contact Dune and inform him. The four beings bowed and set about their all-important task.

He turned to face the others.

"Contact the Chancellor."

"The human body is such a frail thing," a strange voice rasped. "Don't you agree?"

The disembodied head stared back at him through two clouded eyes. Its slacked jaw still spewed blood that trickled down the pallid arm and splashed to the dirt. The catastrophic blaster fire sounded in the distance as Meru Spaceport was engulfed in calamity. As the signal flared skyward- the reddened haze of firepower and black smoke from charred corpses- the second unit began its vicious duty. "My Lord," the stormtrooper glanced to the side, pointedly avoiding the unnecessary carnage on behalf of his assigned leader. "You took a great risk murdering that civilian before the mark-"

"Extremely frail," the Sith continued as he turned to regard the Infantryman with his hand outstretched. "but the spirit even more so. Fear is their baseline. They crave it. They creep toward it innately, and when they find it at last..." The troops shouldered their rifles and aimed into the anticipated crowd that had begun to gather in the square. Herded like animals into a slaughterhouse, they flooded into the open area from every angle. "...they flee from it. How utterly boring their lives must be."

"What an odd bastard," Corporal Kenney muttered over the comm unit in his helmet, secured so that the Sith Lord would not overhear the conversation. He fingered the trigger and pulled back on it, and the first of many shots ripped into the crowd. A pained outcry, the distinct sensation of horror and panic, and the scene caused by a body falling in a crowd happened all at once. As heads turned to make sense of the sudden calamity, more shots joined with the first and tore into their numbers.

Gasps became screams. Several units of commandos flanked the streets and closed off the routes of escape, and one stormtrooper called out to his peers. "FRAG OUT!"

The thermal detonator beeped thrice as it screeched through air, then landed with a thud after colliding with a wall. One man called out for his family to take cover and threw himself over the device, at which Xenro managed a snort. "Leave none of them alive," he glanced over to Kenney with a distant look in his eyes. "Take any who manage to resist into custody so that they can be publicly executed. Make a show of it, just like Zambrano ordered."

"Yes, sir!" The black robed man dropped the mangled head with a sigh.

The thermal blast ripped through a small chunk of the building and flames consumed the father's body in an instant. Charred remnants of his bone fell as ash to the ground, and his children screeched out in agony. "Sir," Kenney glanced back at the Dark Lord, and Xenro quirked an eyebrow. "The children?"

A wry smile etched across the man's face. "Bring them to me."

------------------------------------------------
The Holonet buzzed to life all over Deneba in an instant. Every network showed the same transmission, regardless of attempts to change stations.
There was no sign of who had done it, nor were there traceable signals. The slicer employed for this spectacle had to be one of the best in the galaxy. Flames of chaos had already started to consume the greater Meru area. Even as the Republic worked to contain them, one fire would give rise to another. Many attacks flecked the communities all at once, none of them seemingly connected to any of the others. At first, it was one. Then there were two, four, eight, sixteen...
The chaos flickered away, replaced by the visages of two small children. Their faces were frozen masks of terror, the moment of their deaths forever remembered on the only canvas worth mentioning. Flesh peeled away from muscle at their lips to reveal their immature dental structures. Blood spilled over the edges of their mangled eyelids, pried away to reveal the emptied out holes from whence they had once seen the world.
In their bound hands, each child gripped a pair of still eyeballs, which gazed skyward in eternal, futile hope.
No words came across the screen, nor did anyone speak. The corpse statues spoke for their creator.
Down to the Last Child.

Death looms over Deneba in this hot morning.

The coordinated forces of the Black Empire would strike the Galactic Republic in their recent efforts of acquiring the Deneba system and neighboring sector. They would show that the Republic was not capable of defending its own citizens, that their promises of safety and prosperity were simple false. The Empire would throw the seed of doubt within the Republic's ranks and those that were planning on joining the expansive Galactic Republic.

The Black Empire would show them the only true law of the galaxy - death.

The Harbinger was only here to bring the message.

Donning completely black clothes, with a graphite colored zeyd-cloth cloak all over his body. A hood on his head to cover his face, he walked through the busy streets of Meru.

Looking at the time on his wrist datapad, he knew that it had begun.

--

City of Meru, Deneba
8:42:23

Time to show them. Time to break their chains. Time to end their deception. Time to open their eyes.

These four phrases were on repeat in Kavreen, a young human male with troubled past. Often bullied throughout his years as a student at school, he grew tired. He grew desperate to escape. His obstacles in life would seem to never cease until the apparition came and revealed to him the truth.

Kavreen parked his truck speeder at one of the busiest places in downtown, all the people currently heading for work. He looked behind at the black cover that hid beneath it the explosive.

Everything was false.

There was only one path to walk.

...

The explosion tore his body to pieces along with the office building and the people gathering around it. It was not only the explosion that would slay and injure the hundreds of people around but the demolition of the building would also increase the resulting damage.

--

The Harbinger heard the explosion a few blocks down. It was the one at one of the busiest business centers down the road. The people around him began fleeing. Less than thirty seconds after the explosion another one followed, one that was two blocks down from him. He could see the flames of it. It was the explosion at one of the downtown's malls. Another ten seconds after a block behind him, another explosion rocked a touristic place close to the city hall.

It felt like being a conductor on the stage again.

It felt great. And there was more to come.

This was just the exposition.

Of the symphony of destruction.

Earth shifted underneath the hands and boots of Darth Ashmedai as he vaulted himself over the final ridge to the final plateau of Mount Meru. The journey up the mountain had been much less comfortable than his otherwise routine transit here as merely a passing merchant bringing a routine shipment of imports. Standing to his full height, the Sith Lord's silver-green eyes rather immediately registered the modest, rebuilt Jedi Enclave in the distance. Having sealed himself off from the Force by employing the use of Art of the Small, Ashmedai was completely unaware of the unrest and destruction being spread throughout the town of Meru by the Black Empire. He knew of this group, naturally. No. Specifically, he knew Kaine from the days that most people knew nothing of, days when he was the Director of Intelligence for the Empire before even Moridin had ascended to the Throne.

This did not make them friends. In fact it barely made them acquaintances. While Ashmedai did not necessarily agree with all of the man's various methods, he knew well enough when you merely needed to awake a sleeping pit bull to deal with the cat that constantly sought to poke and tease the presumably tranquil beast. Reports of the Republic's spread to this system had been delivered by patrols some time ago, and the Triumvirate had simply elected to wait and watch the Republic peddle their nonsense to the people of the Deneba system. It was actually impressive...that any living soul in the galaxy even entertained the notion of giving such a backwards, corrupt, pitiful government like the Republic...the time of day.

Because the galaxy is composed of sheep, Cameron.

From beneath the veil of darkness provided by the hood of his simple, brown cloak, the Sith Lord smiled thinly and stepped into a rock outcropping that provided a decent view of the distant enclave. For the moment, he merely took a seat. Rest would surround him for now...no need to rush into the fray. Either way...the sheep and shepherds would share the pain for the transgressions of both. Justice and security were so often paid for in blood.

Security detail was a boring job. It didn't pay well, it didn't offer benefits, and the people she usually worked for were rich snobs that acted like they had more money than her step-father but had probably less money than the imbeciles that used to run the Shadow Empire - or whatever they had called its latest incarnation. But it brought her places, usually places outside of Sith space and generally places within either Alliance or Republic space. So imagine her surprise when the holonet went alight with gruesome images - a sight that was rather unsettling for the uninitiated and downright strange for a planet like Deneba.

Now, Lisette wasn't a mother - she was trying to postpone the inevitable as long as possible, to ensure she never turned out like her mother - but there was a certain part of her that held a disgust for the maiming of children. Whether it was a clinging remnant inside of her that denied her slow descent to the dark side, or if it was because she saw her younger twin sisters in the faces of those being killed, every fiber of her being screamed out in rage at the sight of children being tortured and killed over a live broadcast. Her employers, ever the cowards, had left her a small sum of money and fled the planet rather than try to work out a trade deal when such atrocities were being committed on the planet. She couldn't blame them, it took every bit of her strength to not throw up watching the broadcast.

If she had been there, if she had physically witnessed the horrors being showcased over the Holonet in person, there would have been no telling what might have happened. On Coruscant she lost the restraint she held on herself and lashed out against the Sith she dueled against with wild abandon - she wasn't certain what happened to the Sith, whom she left to see another day rather than become a monster herself - and that was merely the succumbing to the emotions of combat and the ferocity of Juyo that required her to up the ante in an angry way coupled with the hatred she held for the Sith as a whole. But this? She could feel the disturbance in the force from where she stood, and though she was on Deneba she was by no means near the actual killings that took place. Was this meant to draw the likes of her out? Senseless violence and killing of children?

Maybe they'd prefer they be treated the same way?

Maybe she ought to find out.

CHARACTER ARC: GHOST
CHAPTER I: HEIRS OF DARKNESS

The sooner he got this over with, the better; this was suicide, he knew that, but he was too deep to back out now. He had pursued the fruits of curiosity or, perhaps, mild comfort from insomnia too far. Damn a good night's sleep, he wasn't going to sleep again if this went wrong! Well, to reiterate, it was already going wrong: Jansal was suspended exactly two-hundred, forty-six point twelve-repeating feet in the air. 'Why?' you might ask: because evil. Jansal had sought out the Black Empire in pursuit to relieve himself of the nightmares which had plagued him for months on end, aiming to get to the source of the matter; when that source, ultimately, resulted to be a malevolent God-Emperor, he naturally felt trapped in his decision - and, with monstrous, black fleets encircling Panatha's orbit, fleeing wasn't necessarily a given option. So he pledged himself and, he would be a liar if he said some part of him, some little, carnal part that he never knew was there wasn't enthralled at the prospect. But he shut that thing soon out after.

He didn't remember when he got the call to head to Deneba - hell, he couldn't even recall the flight over for that matter; regardless, he had a single mission: chaos. Jansal didn't give a sheb about civilians - well, he did, but that was a matter of the professionalism he so lovingly preached - pity was a no-go. It's not like he was sleeping at night to begin with, anyway. He wasn't necessarily directed to a spot to cause this, in fact, the guy who contacted him seemed to know less than he did: some scrawny fellow, a go-between for the mighty Sith Lords who ruled like gods from dark temples to their little chess pieces down here in the real world. Poor bastard probably got Force-choked to death when they saw how much he was shaking. Anyway, the guy had, with a stutter, babbled how Jansal was to report to Deneba at once under cover, and immediately commence with, quote, "Chaos-making." The mercenary had to bite his tongue where he was to keep from laughing, even while suspended hundreds of feet in the air.

So, naturally, to go along with this intricate plot, he crafted his own MacGyver-class plan to keep him as far away from trouble as possible. Post-arrival on the planet, he immediately vacated the presence the moment he noted a man in black robes and made way to the nearest fairly-tall building around, one which was a good couple and/or multiple hundred stories tall, towering well into the skyline, and began scaling it. It was a slow process, a matter of repeatedly shooting a grappling hook into the air, waiting for it to hook into an extended piece of metal, maybe an antenna or gutter, then slowly walking up - his boot soles magnetically clung to the surface and, whenever muscle fatigue set in, he'd kick in a window, scare the living crap out of its inhabitants, then find a beer to drink. Yeah, Chaos. By this time in the story, as he reminisced, he was about five nineteenth's the way there - not an accurate statement, just one he snarkily pulled from his ass - and boredom had begun to set in.

Harley was under orders to cause mayhem, but not to use the force until told she can. As he was her god emperor, she would obey. She moved around the city on deneba, it wa quite a beautiful place, no wonder he wanted it. She was wondering what she could do to cause mayhem, then she saw a stray animal being chased by nasty republic. They put noose round it head, then dragged in the back of the van. She felt sorry for it, it reminder of the out back and [member="Bryce Bantam"] and that floating droid [member="General Beyyr"] did to her. She was going to liberate them, and all the other animals they had. She followed them on her bike, through the light midday traffic to a building called Animal Control. She wonder Why would anyone wana control animals, they are born free. They should die free, and be eaten or how ever else they die naturally. In her mind this was proof of the republic barberism. She then head in, when she saw a woman behind a desk. The woman got up and asked, Here to pick up, check you lost a pet or adopt a new one? her voice was non committal, like that of someone who did not care, and was only here for the money. Adopt was harley reply, the woman got up said Follow me I show you the ones up for adoption. Harley followed the woman, she head to pen area. She literally hundreds of dogs and cats, and other domestic animals. There alot animals here, what do you do with the ones you can't adopt? Her voice was a little whimpery now, the woman replied We have to put them to sleep. Harleys started to get mad , as she looked at one of them.

She then pulled out her hidden woe bringer, and shot the woman. Her draw was fast and furious, and shot the woman straight between the eyes. Her body slumped in pile on floor, while parts of her head was smeared against the wall. She then grabbed her keys, to get through the building and out of it. She then also pulled a switch, which let all the dogs and animals free. ASs she did another warden came in, he got shot in the stomach and he crumpled on the floor too. Soon Harley opened emergency escape door, and hundreds of dogs began running out into the city, she then got on her speeder and raced off, looking for next point she would be causing havoc in.

Deru city had become an odd place. And when push came to shove, odd places were home to men like Vorhi Alestrani. Light, dark, those terms rarely mattered. He was a man who saw. Slaughter, war, chaos, growth, life, death, he'd seen plenty of all of it. And once again, yet again, history refused to repeat itself, but damn half the galaxy if it didn't rhyme. Slaughter, just like on Roche and Togoria and Druckenwell. But not. The champion turned drunken Wastrel had been here a few days, and now it was beginning. He could....hear it. See it. The dead, they were calling to him yet again. Begging for justice, and vengeance.

But, the atrocities were not as grand yet. Druckenwell, Roche, Corellia, those swift dissipations, that snuffing out of so many so fast, had been a odd sort of beacon, a sudden rift in the force that was easily traced and measured. No, this was subtler. The force tainted these actions, but faintly. Whomever was doing was trying to conceal themselves, trying to avoid having their darkness envelop the planet all at once. There were still ripples, cracks in the darkness, glimmers and echoes from the dead and dying.

The blind shaman sighed as he looked up. Another ghost, leading a trail to somewhere, moving along a thin, wispy path. Perhaps it would lead to an answer. Or, at the very least, an enemy that could be seen long enough to fight. Or, maybe he was just an old drunk chasing after spirits. Hard to say. Still, he climbed the wall of the old building in the city, following the ghostly trail. Only one way to find whatever it was he was looking for.

On most mornings, the Chiss woke up to the sound of the chirping of birds, whirring of service droids, or light, calm conversations. But today, she woke up to the sound of distant, unearthly screaming.

Thema had heard the lives lost a split second after the council Masters themselves started looking worried. It was as if... As if the padawan could feel an immense amount of pain, suffering, and death, yet no release. Her blue skin was covered in goosebumps, and she found herself shivering, despite her species' natural resistance to low temperatures. Something was wrong in the Force. Something dark, and chaotic. Another shiver running down her spine, she got up from her resting position, and quickly undressed. A split second decision led her to choose her Republic fatigues, along with her pilot jacket. For whatever reason, she felt she'd need it.

Rushing out of her chambers, she walked past a group of equally distressed Jedi Knights, grimly pacing their way towards the Council's chambers. Thema needed to know just what was happening. Trying to blend in, she walked alongside them, hoping to pick up on whatever fragment of news they had. No such luck. The Jedi were uncharacteristically silent.

Her little group entered at just the moment Master Rhur walked into the Council chamber. Reaching her hand up to him, she bit her tongue once she saw him speak, preferring to not interrupt him. She had so many questions... But the time for knowledge obviously wasn't now. No, Thema needed to adapt.

And just the opportunity. Thema had been one of the four Jedi to volunteer to round up the younglings. The fact that she was the only padawan in the group was unsettling, but irrelevant. With a nod, the group moved as one, escorting the confused, slightly scared younglings to the commons.

"Master?" A young twi'lek girl called, soft tones of innocence unknowingly mistaking her rank. "What's happening?"

Thema bit her lip, frowning, but resuming her swift pace. "I don't know, young one." She muttered, sighing lightly. "Just... Stay in this room, and make sure to be aware of your surroundings." She looked down at the girl, inspecting her stature. Thema aged her at about... Six, maybe seven years old. Hopeless to defend herself if a Sith were to storm the temple. Still, she had to smile. Such concern in a girl that young meant something. She was no doubt feeling the same- albeit watered down- feeling of dread Thema was. She was probably make a great Jedi, someday. "May the Force be with you."

"Always." She recited emptily, wide eyes looking up at the padawan. Taking a final glance at the group of younglings, Thema turned back towards the passage back to the council chamber, and joined her little Jedi squadron, walking in unison back towards Master Rhur.

Volunteering her time as part of her acceptance now of the strictly Jedi path, Padawan Lorr was also at the Jedi Enclave helping young learners adjust to their new life. She’d recently tendered her resignation as Home Secretary of the Republic, having mixed feelings about doing so. Politics were not exactly as she thought, and the nature-lover spend more time indoors with her head down in flimsiplast than she liked, but enacting change was a goal of the Eldorai’s.

You will do better right where you are, Cath, she reasoned.

Padawan Lorr felt the disturbance in the Force as well, like Master Rhur did. She still had access to the same communication lines that she had as Home Secretary - although locked out of the more sensitive areas now – so excusing herself for a moment from the padawan learners, she went to a quiet area outside of the enclave and checked the information.

Terrorism had broken out across Deneba, a relatively peaceful world, but government was likely left vacuous by the Techno Union’s retreat from the sector. Still, the Republic was locked in a “Sith Sandwich” with the One Sith to the north and the Sith Triumverate to the east. If someone wanted to engineer a false flag operation, it would likely be the Sith. She’d encountered [member="Haytham Kaze"] on Ruusan, who tried to convince her that the Triumverate would be taking out criminals very much like these terrorists, but the Eldorai was not convinced.

Shutting off her datapad and walking swiftly back inside of the enclave, her soft boots padding along the corridors soundlessly, she found Master Rhur, a Bith Jedi who she’d not yet had the pleasure of meeting and said, “I have read the news and it’s alarming. Please let me know how I can assist you in dealing with this threat.” A fellow padawan, a female Chiss also approached and Cath regarded her with a curt nod.

Calle Rhane's apartment, City of Meru, Deneba

Today was the day. The day where all her work would come to fruition. This had been Ameli’s longest assignment yet. Her mission demanded that she stay undercover for the entire process. She had had to manipulate and infiltrate certain established circles and gain their trust. More than that, she also had to push the anti-Republic activists over the edge from being young people who talked a lot, to being young people who were willing to act on those words. Fight and die for the cause.

Ameli was almost surprised that she had managed to stay focused and in-character for so long. Sena would have been proud. The seeds of rebellion had been planted. By the end of the day she expected the entire terrorist cell to be dead. Ameli held no attachments to them. Not even Calle Rhane. It had always been a game to her, but she had made them believe it was real.

Meru Concert Hall, Deneba
08:41:07

“Where’s your girlfriend, Rhane?” a masked man hissed in a hushed tone to the one standing beside him. He was taller than Rhane, bigger too. Rhane wasn’t built like a brute. His mind was his real weapon. He was the cell’s charismatic leader. “She’ll join us later. And don’t use our names again.” he reprimanded the big man. Ameli, or as he knew her, Helene, was originally supposed to be with the group at the theatre. Last minute, however, plans had been changed and she got assigned to go somewhere else. She had even made Rhane think it was his idea. Out of his love for her, and his desire to keep her safe, he had changed her task to what he thought would be less risky. He never discovered how the young Sith had played with his mind.

“Forget about her.” Rhane repeated, before giving the men and women to his side a quick look, concluded with a firm nod. “It’s time.” From the sounds of it, the opera inside was reaching its highlight. This was the part where the man the audience had been led to believe was the hero got killed. As it turned out, it was the damsel in distress who actually would take up his mantle and finish what she had made him start in his name. It was a modern thing, appealing to the feminists of the planet. Of course, the audience would never get that far. Rhane had decided that it was time the rich elite who had so willingly handed over custody of their planet, ceded their liberty to the hated Republic, got what they were owed.

Moving in pairs of two, the group kicked open doors from various entry-points. They marched into the main level, as well as the galleries. The exits had been barred. There would be no escape from this carnage, and carnage was the name of the game. There were no words of warning, no demands. Only the sound of the ominous beeping of thermal detonators in the moments before they ignited. One had been thrown from each group into the crowd. The explosions cut the opera short. After the blasts went off, there was a roar of screams and chaos, both from the maimed and the frightened. The cacophony of terror was shortly thereafter accompanied with blaster fire as the attackers opened fire upon the crowd. They moved down the steps, clearing the rows, with watchers to take out the runners. As brutal as it was, it was highly calculated murder.

Dune looked up from the holonet display. There he found the Padawans Cath Lorr and Thema Csapla waiting expectantly. It would seem that the Enclave's members were looking to him for guidance this day. It felt like not so long ago that he'd looked to the Masters too.

"We've informed the Republic, giving what details we can," he filled the older apprentices in "They'll arrive as soon as possible."

These two were not among the younglings. They were old enough to be told the exact situation.

"For the time being, have have locked down the Enclave. Our priority is to protect the younglings at all costs. I have dispatched two Knights and their Padawans to gather them and remain in the common area with them."

His expression was as grave as his tone.

"They'll come here, I'm certain. We're a relatively soft target and many have a vendetta against us."

He gestured to the elderly head of the archives and several of her young assistants.

"I will send our Lore-keeper and her assistants to help defend the children when they come. For now, they're monitoring communications."

Dune indicated the main entrance with another gesture in that direction.

"I have sent the head combat instructors along with the remaining Knights as well as any Padawans they deemed ready to watch the main entrance. I'll be joining them. If you wish, you may also come."

Thema listened to what the Jedi Master had to say, but remained expectant by the time he finished. A few seconds passed before she realized he was finished speaking. "And... That's it?" She asked, a tinge of both surprise and disgust in her tone. Taking a step forward, she searched the Bith's face for any emotion, or faltering in his confidence. His face was a steel trap, it seemed. She took a deep breath before speaking once more, adjusting her tone to be more diplomatic, and less defensive.

"Master, with all due respect..." she started protesting, gesturing lightly with her hands, "if the citizens of Deneba are in danger, it's our duty as Jedi to at least reason with whatever's causing the attacks. Protecting our own is noble, but it's, well, selfish." Thema felt exposed speaking to a Master in such a way. Who was she to question the decision of a seasoned Jedi? She could feel the eyes of her fellow padawan silently stab into her, judging her actions. Nevertheless, she continued.

"Allow me to coordinate local enforcement." She requested, demanding tone softening into a more pleading voice. "I'll be cautious, I swear- All I want to do is figure out our losses, and find a way to secure civilians. Nothing drastic."

Meru Spaceport, Deneba
08:40:52

The last time Prazutis gripped weapons and wore garb such as this it had been many years ago. During a time when he himself was lost, Kaine and the future he paved for himself never even crossed his mind back then. But even though it was so long ago that he wore the mantle of mercenary, contract killer the weaponry and garb still felt familiar. Inside this elevator roughly twenty individuals had clumped together in similar garb carrying similar heavy weaponry. Most of those around him were of average height and weight, with the exception of himself and the other fellow towering individual at the front of the elevator [member="Darth Carnifex"].

Prazutis ran his weapon briefly through its paces in a pre-battle check to ensure everything was in ship shape and ready to go. Most of it was trained muscle memory from intense repetition over the years, such a common routine sometimes he did it automatically without even thinking much about it. For what they were about to do inside this spaceport the large repeating blaster needed to be in tip top condition. The plan the two Dark Lords put into motion took weeks to move this many weapons and ammunition to Deneba and close to the Spaceport, but finally all of their plans had come to fruition.

As the group stood in relative silence with some whispering among themselves his master and nephew Kaine whispered into his ear reminding him to not use the force. While it was understood by both Sith Lords it was wise to have a reminder, using the force was so apart of their nature it was the primary weapon these two wielded against their enemies, but here it would have no part in the plan. Prazutis nodded in confirmation to Kaines warning, gripping the handle of his repeater and placing his finger on the trigger. The final ding signified the elevator finally reaching their floor, The doors opened wide and immediately the large group rushed out into the packed lobby in a firing line.

Then they opened fire.

An explosion of laser fire erupted from the rapid firing repeaters that tore through the room scything down civilians like a farmer reaping corn during the harvest season. Those closest to the firing line were simply blown apart from the powerful weapons while others lost limbs, blood and gore sprayed out like crimson clouds of mist, screams drowned out against the thunderous boom of their weapons. The large group moved through the lobby mowing down anything that moved, and finishing off those who were still living on the ground.

They separated into individual squads then moving through the station each taking a different area, to inflict the maximum amount of damage as possible. Regardless of who or what they were, even why they were here didn't matter. Each passing moment the body count continued to rise. However it didn't take long for rapid response teams to arrive at the spaceport and for several hours a standoff ensued. But when these forces finally breached the interior and finally killed or incapacitated all of the members of their death squad, the two titanic individuals were nowhere to be found.

They were extremely thorough during the standoff in wiping all servers, erasing all of the camera tapes. A carefully crafted electronic virus by Braxus Zambrano's people ripped through the network and electronics of the entire station and its people like a hot knife through butter. As far as anyone was concerned this was just a horrific act of terrorism, and the two Sith Lords were just getting started. The Deneba Spaceport would be the spark to ignite the inferno that would set everything ablaze, and the Republic was hopeless to stop it.

On Deneba Faith was currently in a meeting trying to work a negotiation that would help put trade vessels on the Gamor Run and operatives on the ground. The great thing about being Intelligence and an Ambassador she could easily tie the two together. The male sitting across from her with his arms crossed, staring at her as if she had just asked for his first born was called Kaen.

He was adamant that Deneba did not need the 'interference' from the Republic that they wanted to remain under no one's authority.

She was thinking of how to reply to such a statement especially since Alderaan not long ago had gone through the same thing. BUT. They were now under the Mandalorians. So. Feth.

She leaned forward, "Kaen, I understand the need the want to stand on your own, to not feel the yoke of anyone other than your own government." Feth.
There was a knock at the door, and Ana appeared, "excuse the intrusion Minister, but there are reports. There's fighting, a rebellion has broken out" Just beyond her looming in his armor likely already biting at the bit.

"It would seem for the moment our talks are to be left open"

Kaen gave her one of those little I won smiles, but was he really or were the people of Deneba going to pay a price. She had to get off Deneba, or find a way to squash the rebellion.

Their ship was sitting at the Embassy just outside the City. She stood up sighing heavily as she did so, "I really do hope we can continue our trade talks." It was then at that moment the building seemed to shake. She looked to Ana and Draco, "Time to go"

"Kaen, really think about what we discussed. Vena, Aldera, and Alderaan can help Deneba." She walked around the table towards the group, Captain Lindsey of the Royal Guard was at the ship waiting, impatiently for them.

Draco had been seated away from the Minister Desks in a sort of antechamber. As a Mandalorian, he wore his beskar'kandar with sword on his side in a knight's scabbard. Beskar revolver sat in a Level Three security holster on his leg. T-Visored helmet rested in the crook of his arm. He was more here ceremoniously, but since they were outsiders he wore his armor as a custom and a reminder. Despite what anyone thought, Mandalorians were conquerors, a culture built on war that produced warriors without true equal. The iconic armor they were known for was a staunch reminder of that. That any one of them could be a shield against your enemies as he was for Faith, for Alderaan and its people, for the Clans, or a blade held against you, as he had been many times against many people.

The building rumbled and Draco stood quickly, securing his helmet and expanding his presence, increasing and fine tuning his sphere of responsibility to its limits where he could still differentiate each individual and their resonating thoughts and intentions. Most of it was fear, something he could draw upon like a drug in the past, but refrained from now. Calm, collected. His addictions to Force Drain and siphoning the fears of others had been held at bay since the Planet of the Force, and he would not falter just yet.

"Yes, time to go." Draco echoed, taking stock of the situation and falling in beside Faith, putting his left hand on the small of her back protectively. Touching her, he could do so much more to protect his love than otherwise. Ana followed close behind him, sticking well within arms length of the Mandalorian. She was well aware, that he would protect her if he could and she didn't want to be just out of range of that protection given the rumbling and sounds of laser and gun fire in the vicinity.

Goran, the Mandalorian Wookiee who occasionally joined Draco when a small, yet effective guard was required, was waiting on the ship, tapping his foot against the metal deck, holding hammer in one hand impatiently. He was the perfect bodyguard, and a close friend, stereotypical of wookiees and of many Mandalorians, he was loyal, honorable, and protective. He viewed Draco's family as an extension of his own for now, and as his duties as Huntmaster were not currently in effect, he was a guardian ever since the Death Watch lead by Tralik had attempted to assassinate him several times.

"Come on cyar'ika. We will get out of the city and survey what is actually going on if we can. Then we can decide what to do about it." Draco's instincts were to evacuate or go to ground, try one then the other.

Harley was speeding away, from the dog pound and she was listening to the radio.

News just in, terrorist strike at Spaceport. The police as long with some republic forces moving in to investigate, more news as we get it.
Also in other some nut job has killed one dog warden, and injured another. Then let out of the stray dogs and cats, the police are little stretched to investigate at moment.

As she listened to it, she saw the city zoo. She decide to dismount her bike, and go straight in. She was upset with people locking animals in cages, she did not like being in one herself. She went to ticket stand, and walked straight through. One of the supervisor went upto her and said Excuse me miss, it is ten credits to enter. She looked at him, and then shot him in the chest. The people around her screamed and ran for it, a few wanna be heroes decide to fire back at her. She ran for cover so not to get shot, as she was not to use the force yet. She then shot back, and took one out. She then ran into control center for the zoo, the door was locked. She shot the lock out and ran in, and looked around, it was automated system. She then pointed her gun at the zoo keeper in charge, and said Listen Puddin, realise the animals now, or you don't go home tonight! He looked at her in disbelief Listen Luv there are Rancors in the zoo, I can't do it, if I did they start eating people. She then put two blaster shots into his knees, as screamed in pain she said I am moving up with the next shot puddin. Seriously Rancors are in this zoo, as well as lot other predators. he said as winced in pain, her retort was one blaster shot to each bum cheek. He then pressed the button, and animals started to be free, all the animals of the zoo. Including two rancors, who where used for breeding. She looked out as the beautiful creatures where free again, and those horrible people where running for there lives, well who in there right minds locks up animals.

Soon the animals, would be making there way into the city.

Dune allowed Thema to finish before he shook his head.

"Not yet, Thema."

He would explain because it was a chance to teach.

"A Jedi has limits. Even a Jedi Master can be shot in the back while surrounded by enemies. We're too few in numbers and so we must wait for the Republic to arrive. The Force is unlimited but our ability to wield it is not."

That was a hard lesson any apprentice must eventually realize. One who could touch the Force was not a God. Their powers had limits, even if their ego told them otherwise. They must learn to work within limits.

"There's no glory in a foolhardy charge into your death. Besides, you'd leave the younglings to the same horrific fate of the beings outside. Remember that you're responsible for their lives, not just your own."

"Besides, I sense a trap. I don't know exactly who these cowards are, but I suspect the Black Ties, their Mandalorian masters and perhaps even the Sith."

"If my suspicions prove correct, we will have our chance to engage them. So we wait for reinforcements, we coordinate and then we act."

With each passing second, she could feel her skin crawling more intensely, the wailing of the dead filling her ears. The dead... And zoo animals? She shook off the thought. "I know that, Master." She insisted pleadingly, scrunching up her nose. "But we're supposed to protect the people of Deneba! Support the local authorities! Take care of the wounded, do something-" She clenched her teeth, suppressing the anger in her. Rage and impatience was not the way of a Jedi, that much she knew. But for something like this... "You were the one who taught me all life had meaning and value." She pointed out, her voice a sharp hiss. "A couple of Jedi isn't worth all these lives! By the time the Republic gets here, there will be more dead than we know what to do with! We could at least do something!" Thema knew she was being reckless and impatient, but she couldn't stand this feeling of helplessness. As she spoke, she couldn't help but recall stories of impatient Jedi, later turned Sith due to their mistakes. Darth Vader. Darth Revan. But somehow, this felt different.
