  • Sentient (Personality Also Reliant On User)
  • Augments Force Powers
  • Lightsaber Resistant
  • Extremely Dark Aura (Bordering Force Insanity)
Strengths:
  • Flick O' The Wrist -
Noana is conventional in almost all aspects of Sith Swords, not showing any great difference besides its somewhat blocky aesthetic and the sith runes lining much of its spine; however, the major difference is quickly realized in just what its sole purpose and power is. The blade works as an effortless, autonomous defense for the user in question, allowing a second weapon to actively follow them into battle wherever they please. A constant ally, and even a training partner should it ever be needed.

[*]Moral Compass -
  • The sickening nature of the weapon is a double edged sword; the advantage being that cowards will soil themselves when witnessing the blade. Even war frenzied mandalorians hesitate when bearing witness to the extraordinary evil that is Noana; something abysmal festering in its very nature inspiring them to run for their very lives. This can even distract notable force masters should they not pay attention, leading to more than a few being used to quench the hungry blade.

In addition, this 'fear' transfers back to the user in a lesser magnititude; making even them fear the blade's frenzy. Hesitation in the middle of combat can mean death, and the constant whispers the blade utters mid strike can hamper even the most dedicated master.

Weaknesses:
  • Forcefully Conventional -
With almost all design put into its sentient prowess in combat, the blade suffers in the fact that is... almost negligable in all other categories. Its average in weight, reach, peneration, and manueverability, and all of this means that without The Force, the blade simply will not respond to its master's commands. Although it's certainly viable as a weapon should the need arise, its sole purpose is null and void when subjected to Ysalamiri fields or other force negation auras, albeit voidstone will slow its reactions and moves considerably.

[*]There you are! -
  • One downside of imprinting a sword with the reflective personality of its user filtered through the long dead spirit of a leviathan, is that the weapon is extremely dark in presence. While wielding this, lesser men may run simply from its debilitation, sickening, pressure; but more experienced force users and like would be able to seek it out like the lone hutt in a room full of zeltron models. Its very easy to find if one looks, and thats where the other half of the double edge swords comes into play. It might be scary to play with, but if you want to find it, you will.

[*]The Devil's Bargain -
  • While many artifacts drain the user from use, the passive nature of the device relies on an upfront cost rather than a lengthy cost. Use of the artifact involves selling a portion of the soul to its depths, meaning there will never be a comfortable existence so long as one remains connected. Should the user ever die, a fraction of their eternal nature will forever be trapped in a torturous limbo that will never cease.

[*]Monolith -
  • To compensate for the fact that there is no real weight behind the weapon, it was made larger than usual. This comes with a few issues, most notably that the weapon is dangerous to fight around, and unwieldy in its entirety. The weight makes travel with it difficult to say the least, and while the additional weight can help maintain 'strong' attacks, it is still notably lighter than most conventional fighters heavy strikes.

[*]Born in The Dark -
  • Just as any dark side artifact, light side powers and auras can weaken the connection and even destroy it should the assault be focused enough. Bringing a calmness to the storm can be very dangerous; but is one of the most viable weaknesses on the sword, effectively disabling any of the darkness within. While some may consider music to sooth the beast, but its the light side of the force that silences this one.

DESCRIPTION
Crafted in the belly of a dark sided forge, Noana is the masterwork art of numerous sects of sith magics; not solely the side of alchemy or force imbuement as usual. Taking a step out from the norm, during its creation The Slave chose to not only create the weapon as he usual had before, but also bring about a force spirit to simply exist within its depths; a devious way to fuel force powers that were to be actively inherent in the blade. What was this soul? The bygone spirit of a long dead leviathan, stripped of any conventional personality, and forced to reflect the users deepest traits.

Now, bonded to the master, the weapon takes on numerous aspects of their personality and reflects it back. For the young and adventurous, the blade takes on a youthful pressure that fights with the same energy and quick movements as its master; while more aged and experienced users might bear witness to a personality more robust and contemplated. These unique personalities rely entirely on the user in every aspect; and while it's certainly possible to like the sword for its various traits, it's also very viable to simply hate it for reflecting traits you refuse to recognize in oneself.

However, to even bond yourself to the blade, a small ritual must be done to let it take from your traits. Unwrapping the leather handle revels a small thumbprint of an unknown creator, where the new master shall set their finger. Numerous needles will prick the skin and steal blood from the soon to be master, taking it in while the various runes along its spine begin to blow a mandarin orange. The blade will seize, before the area directly around the ritual receiver will darken, with nothing surrounding them but the abyss. Through a seemingly infinite silence and unsettling hours, two massive orbs would soon reveal themselves in the distance. Through the darkness, no form will be seen, but the size of the vessel is extraordinary that much would be obvious. Its voice, as course and loud as a raging inferno, he’d offer them the terms of the deal. This deal varies person to person, but should the user accept, they’ll find themselves the new owner.

With the ritual complete, the new master will find themselves quickly copied in personality towards the devil ridden sword. Whatever deal they’d make, the sword will now serve them until the contract is complete or renewed; meaning until that next cycle it will actively perform the duties it was chosen to perform. While it could simply be a companion for some, its primary ability is its prowess in combat; more specifically its ability to copy, reflect, and perfect perform pre-choreographed moves in time with its masters sword moves.

The mental connection between the two allows for perfect duo fighting techniques, but is completely restricted to the intelligence and swordsmanship of its master. Despite all the power put into the weapon, there is simply no way to be dangerous in the hands of an acolyte; lest they lose themselves in it. To be effective the weapon must always be put in the hands of someone trained heavily in the various forms of combat around the galaxy to maximize its potential; though this can be compensated for in its ability to copy more unconventional tactics at times. For example, perhaps the sword itself, floating in its ability, can not force push someone, it could viably augment a sword strike to push someone with substantial power; though its ability to perform these acts on its own is limited.

Lastly, the weapon can not travel more than three meters from the user, hilt to heart. This is due to its lasting connection with their blood; meaning that when moved farther than this it has a temporary timeframe of a few minutes before it’ll cease to reflect their personality and fall into a state of hibernation until the two are reunited. Should this separation happen for more than a week; the weapon will clear them from its depths at the cost of the contract and the price paid, effectively resetting it for the next owner.

This is an interesting submission to say the least.

  1. So how does it fight on its own? Float? Guide the user's hand? This needs to be clearer.
  2. What kind of sentience are we talking about here? Animal-level? Human?
  3. On the one hand you state it augments Force Powers; on the other you say it can't directly affect opponents with the Force. How does this work, exactly?

Extremely Dark Aura (Bordering Force Insanity)
  • This is a pretty powerful effect to have on top of the LS resistance, sentience, and autonomous fighting.
  • If you'd like to keep it, derive another Weakness from it – that it also affects the user, perhaps something similar to the Soulsaber, though obviously diminished in magnitude.
  • I would also suggest you incorporate 'the deal' mentioned in the description into the Weaknesses in some manner. Perhaps some kind of toll the sword exact on its user in exchange for its service?

To finish, the weapon is an extreme powerhouse in its presence, power, and ability in the right hands, but suffers in various other aspects with hard weaknesses when taken advantage of. The weapon is only as strong as the person utilizing it, but its potential is nearly limitless; another artifact to strike fear into the many soldiers of the galaxy.
  • Reword this to something less suggestive of absolute power, or remove it.
All in all, really neat concept, but it needs some balancing still. Tag me with your edits / questions, and we can move this along.

The intent was to float, up to five meters from the user. Clarified the special feature.

Human, a conversational partner based entirely off the user.

Effectively, it'd improve someones ability to utilize the dark side of the force so long as the connection is there, but itself can not 'force push' an opponent mid combat, even if the active user utilizes this in their combat techniques. If that makes sense.

Added both.

I removed it, as I don't think it fit the rest of the submission in tone. It was a hamfisted attempt at just summarizing it lmao

On the whole with the amount of strengths this has, I would still like you to add another weakness. The ones you currently have are very situational, and/or entirely dependent on the user of the weapon to roleplay them properly.

There needs to be a weakness here that opponents can exploit as well – the blade's lack of crossguard; the additional weight alchemy imparts on an object; the fact that a sword floating in the air doesn't have much striking force/support behind it, etc.

I have read this over, taken a break, read it again, and then again.

The sword carries the typical properties of a Sith Sword, is imbued with the spirit of a leviathan, has some semblance of sentient nature to it, and is therefore able to float, accompany, defend, and attack on behalf of its 'master'. Furthermore it increases one's own abilities to a substantial degree, and requires it remain within a three meter distance to maintain its floating ability, lest it be for less than several minutes apart.

Its weaknesses are that it's heavy despite not requiring anybody to actually hold it in almost any situation, a flavor text bargain agreement, which while interesting and unique, does not serve to sustain the weakness category, a vague nod to I think describing it as an inability to stealth due to its dark nature, and the fact that without the Force it's just a sword.

I like your creative ideas and submissions, but at the moment this one isn't going to pass as it is.

I'm certainly not the best with weaknesses, but I'm always down to change it. Are there things you'd like removed, or otherwise changed in particular?

The leviathan is just flavor text to be spooky, and to give credence to its sentience. The sentience is just for the sake of having development come with it outside combat, should someone want. I can't make excuses for it floating, nor improving force powers however.

The easiest one to throw in is the weakness to intense light side energy from focused manifestations such as Wall of Light.

Aside from that all I can really offer are creative suggestions such as the ability for an adept Force User to either subdue or otherwise interfere with the bond/connection to the blade through telepathic means of some kind, or perhaps give it a bane of some kind in the presence of some material such as Songsteel or something other than a nullification field where it loses its ability to levitate or it's ability to act as a typical Sith Sword, or something along those lines.
