No Turning Back (Taeli Rae)

Raven had looked as she saw Taeli standing near her, looking at her as if she were a pitiful animal. She answered with a groaning "Nnn...Never!" Her hand waved across and from her shadow five crow familiars appeared. They flew towards [member="Taeli Rae"] and crowed while trying to scratch or peck at her. Raven had deactivated her lightsaber when she had fallen out of the window. She didn't use it yet as she instead dove and grabbed Taeli's ankle, trying to force her off her feet. It brought back memories of Ossus, where they'd first met. Even then, despite not being a match for her, she still fought with all her strength. Everything about this moment had brought back images of that day, only making Raven all the more angered it had come to this.

The crows flew from her shadow, her whole thing about ravens and her Sith name just making Taeli sigh a bit. She had taught her how to make Sith familiars, and explained that if they were attacked, they would just . . . well . . . not be much of a threat. As the crows attacked, Taeli merely sent concentrated bursts of Force energy at them, intending to just overload them with energy and make them burst into shadow.

A hand closed around her ankle and Taeli found herself falling to the ground as Sophie pulled her to the floor, trying to wrestle apparently. her lightsaber had rolled away, the blade deactivated, but that wasn't a worry right now. Taeli's hand flicked out and went to smash into Sophie's face as she relied on her Mandalorian upbringing for this part of their fight. Rolling so she would be pinning Sophie, her arms moving to force her into a headlock after her jab to her face.

"Stop it Sophie, you're only going to get hurt more," she said, struggling to grapple the woman.

She was disarmed, which made it all the better. As Raven scrambled to get her hands on [member="Taeli Rae"] she felt her hand forces up into her face, breaking her nose. She let out a painful yowl before being cut off when she was forced into a headlock. She struggled before hearing Taeli call her by her real name, only to make her angrier as she yelled "Stop calling me that!" Her foot reached up and stomped on her master's toes before she tried to send a punch to her gut to make her let go. Once she was free she lashed out with a swing to her master's face, her bloody nose trickling and flinging red specks as she did.

Taeli hissed in pain as her toes got stomped on, but she curled in on herself to absorb the attack to her gut. Unfortunately, it meant she had let go of Sophie and the swing at her face came out and smacked her across the cheek. She could feel some blood welling up in her mouth, but nothing had been broken.

Rolling away to put some distance between herself and Sophie, she realized the girl just wouldn't stop. She would let Sophie make the next move, and she had a feeling Sophie would try and take advantage of the fact that Taeli appeared to be unarmed currently. Reaching with the Force, she called her lightsaber to her, the hilt flying through the air towards her hand.

Not even a might Sith Lady could stop an old fashioned punch to the face. Raven had taken a lot of joy in that, giving a more satisfied hiss. When [member="Taeli Rae"] face her again Raven tried to attack her by running towards her to tackle her to the ground. Unfortunately she didn't see the lightsaber flying towards her as she did. The hilt flew across the air, striking Raven across the forehead as it did. A big welt had formed as she felt herself stumble to the ground. She held where her head had been hit, feeling a bit of blood, before trying to stand. She stumbled again and fell onto her knees. She gave hurt little noises and grunts as she looked to see blood on her hands from the spot. She couldn't see straight and everything looked dizzy to her. She looked up to Taeli, more hurt and unfocussed eyes of yellow, while trying to stand but failing yet again. She was done without even realizing it.

The saber met her hand, but she didn't activate the blade. Her lightsaber's hilt connecting with Sophie's forehead had stunned her, and probably thrown off her sense of balance for right now. A feeling of pity in seeing Sophie in such a state sprung to her heart, and it could be clearly seen in her eyes as she looked at the girl struggling to stand.

"You're done, Sophie, the fight is over," she said, a sigh escaping from her lips. "Please just listen to reason and realize that you're over-reacting and twisting my words in your head. We don't need to be enemies, I don't want to fight you. Let's stop so I can patch you up."

She really really hoped Sophie would finally calm down, and actually realize what she had said. Her jaw was sore from the punch she had received, but it would heal within a day or so once she gave herself a stim of bacta.

Despite her words Raven looked up to [member="Taeli Rae"], her eyes still dizzy and yellow, and said "You....you're...not going to....fool....me." She looked over to where her lightsaber had fallen during the fight and tried to crawl over to it, only for her to still stumble and barley see straight. "You're....a liar. I hate you... You're not my master.... and I'm...not your student...or your...friend." She reached out to try and grab her saber while struggling to say "You'll-You'll betray us all...betray...us...like you did me...I-I don't love....don't want to love you any...any...." her words faded as she began to cough before falling to the ground, blood pouring from her nose and wound. Her white dress stained with it as it mixed with the pouring rain. She was a mess, and a pitiful one at that. Raven was still conscious but clearly had no strength left. She looked back to Taeli and said "Just....kill me now..."

"I didn't betray you, Sophie," Taeli said softly, coming over cautious to bend down next to her former apprentice. Spitting a glob of blood out of her mouth onto the wet ground, she sighed a little and continued saying, "I'm so sorry, Sophie, so so sorry that I don't share the feelings you have for me. I don't want to kill you . . . I don't even like seeing you injured at all. I'm telling you the truth though, but . . . you'll see that in the end I think. The future is constantly in motion, and we can never predict where it will lead us. Even those with farsight can't foresee everything."

Reaching out to wipe the blood away from Sophie's face, she sighed again.

Her face was wet from blood and rain and yet Raven could see as [member="Taeli Rae"] knelt next to her. She tensed only to hear her apologize while saying how she didn't betray her or want to kill her. It didn't make her feel any better, especially when being reminded she didn't feel the same way for her as she had loved her. When she rubbed blood from her face she was still at first, feeling her ex-master's gentle hand on her face. Part of her wanted to kiss her fingers while another wanted to try and bite the off. Instead she only shook her hand off her while bringing on hand up to block her from doing it again. She resented her more now than ever. Finally after a moment Raven reached into the pocket of her dress and revealed the communicator Taeli had give her earlier. She gave a little toss so it would land near Taeli's feet.
"Go....away...." she said, not looking her in the eyes now. "I don't...want to see you...anymore..."

"I have a feeling . . . regardless of your current feelings of wanting to never see me again, that our paths will cross again in the future," Taeli said, sadness encroaching on her heart as she watched Sophie reject the offer of help and continued friendship. Sighing again, a few tears starting to mix in with the water running down her face from the rain. It was the end of the girl she had trained, the girl who had been her first ever student. She just hoped that girl could be found again in the future.

Getting up, she said added one more thing.

"I'd recommend replacing the casing on your lightsaber as it will shatter again if you activate it, too much stress from the elements," she said, placing her own lightsaber on her belt.

Turning, she started to walk away, leaving the communicator and a bacta stim from the pocket of her dress near Sophie. It was almost like a reverse version of what happened with Connor she realized.

Raven didn't look at her when she spoke. She just wanted her to leave. Even as she told her about her lightsaber she made no indication she was listening or not. She saw her put the vial down near the communicator. She heard [member="Taeli Rae"] walk away and eventually hear the sounds of her shuttle fly off. It was only then that she used the vial and placed it on the wound over her head. As everything began to come back to her it was also the realization of what had happened. Her master was gone and she had faced the beating of her life by her. She confessed everything to her about her feelings only to be met with rejection. And she still had the feeling she would not see her return to the Sith. Not after this day. Raven looked up to the sky, as if looking towards where Taeli was, and was angry.
Her hateful gaze had held for a long time before more tears mixed in. Her anger turned to sorry as she broke down crying again. The first woman she ever loved, the woman who took her in and taught her the ways of the darkside, was gone. She drove her away. It was all her fault. She banged her fists against the steel of the landing platform for her own sake. She wasn't strong, not as much as she wanted to be. She'd gone too far now. There was no turning back.
Her state broke again as she realized the pain setting in. Her master did this. Her master, whom she trusted, did this. She now cried over the pain she endured, both in mind and body. Nothing could bring it back to the way it was. A forever broken thing.
That realization had made her angry again. Her master had beaten her and was leaving to possibly join someone other than the Sith. She looked back up as clouds began to thunder. All of her rage built. All her sorrow built. Everything that fueled her emotions in the darkside built. Everything began to shake, including herself. And finally Darth Raven had let out a powerful Force Scream. The sound of metal bending, glass breaking, a thunder clap from above. All signs of her rage endued state. This was a sign. Darth Raven was here now, not Sophie Gustav. And she would one day have her revenge. No matter how long it took or what hardships she endured, she would have her revenge.
(This song so fits the mood it made me cry)
