BIOGRAPHY:
Once upon a time Nikos was an engineer attached to the Jedi Praxeum on Dellalt. Disinterested in the ways of the Force himself, he did believe that the Praxeum presented a good opportunity for the denizens of Dellalt to be given protection from pirates, outlaws and other scum preying on the weak in the Tingel Arm. For a time this remained true. Youngsters from all over Dellalt came to the Praxeum to be taught the ways of the Force, or to be given the opportunity to help the Galaxy in different ways. Nikos himself came from one of the outlaying villages and offered his technical skills. Always good with a wrench, he fixed up ships for the Jedi, tuned speeders and anything else that might be useful.
It all changed when the Sith appeared.
They conquered Dellalt with a ruthless hand, wiped away any trace of the Jedi and subjugated the population in a truly brutal fashion. Nikos was not the kind of man to bow down and accept their rule however. Instead he disappeared into the wilds of the planet. From there he and others like him fought a guerilla war against the occupation. Of course, there was little they could do in the face of a Galactic imperium.
By the time the Sith Empire collapsed Nikos believed they would be free at last.
He smiled too soon. Only a breath and a half passed before the Bryn'adûl subsumed the planet. If they had believed the Sith to be brutal than the Bryn'adûl were on a whole other scale altogether. They did not care about occupation, or conversion, or petty things such as rule. They put the world to the sword and fire as they had done with scores of other worlds throughout the Tingel Arm. Only luck had it that Nikos had been off-world when tragedy fell. From engineer to freedom fighter to... something else. This was Nikos' path. There was no home to return for him and so he began to roam space.
Together with a handful of old companions they realized that the Galaxy at large did not care about people like them.
They had been more than willing to let the Sith Empire have its way with their planet, until ambitious Imperials decided they wanted to be in charge. They didn't care when the Bryn'adûl consumed world after world, until their own borders were at risk. And certainly now with refugees flooding in from all these ruined worlds... they don't care what would happen to them.
Nikos had to look after Nikos.
And so his path found a new calling. They'd call him raider, pillager, pirate, but Nikos was still fighting the old war. It transformed, yes, but the stakes never disappeared. He would just have to make the Galaxy understand their pain.
That was the only way they'd learn.
