NFU Ranks Suggestion

Maybe I should read a bit more into this whole discussion, but I do think there's a vital point all of you are missing. We are Sith From an OOC standpoint, all the things about NFU equality is well and good... but look at who we are. We are not the republic. No freedom... we kinda fight that thing if you guys remember. I can't recall a single time in sith history where a sith really had to answer to someone below him. Grand Moff tarkin might have had some influence on Vader.. but go one more force rank, and that moff is a puppy.

^ Exactly. This isn't some equality thing, it's about having separate and distinct roles for Sith and non-Force users.

But yes, why don't we look at the Republic. They seem to have room for both Republic and Jedi characters in their faction and it works just fine. Not sure why it needs to be such a problem here.

Also, the point about Tarkin and Vader is off base. Tarkin was basically Vader's boss.

This subject shouldn't even brought up. Vader was demoted for failure by Palpatine and that was why Tarkin was above him. Nothing more, nothing less.

You guys are way over thinking this.

Sith currently dominate this faction, thats how it is. ICly they hold the reigns and complete control because...well they were the ones doing all the conquering and leg work from the beginning. The NFU structure just came about as a way to support them.

The idea of Moffs as governors of planets makes sense, but to have them be on par with the Sith right now? No, that doesn't really make sense. Creating a Grand Moff position out of the blue just for OOC purposes seems kind of lame. The one NFU with real power above Sith(And even then its a First Among Equals power, so more of authority than anything else) right now is Avadreia who was appointed as a voice by the Dark Lord himself because of her capabilities, an IC gain.

Push it IC. Have more NFU do more stuff and gain power then push the agenda in a faction thread. I guarantee you that [member="Darth Isolda"] and the other two admins will gladly go along with NFU gaining power in a natural way that makes sense. If you're a general, simply RP gaining the loyalty of more troops, pushing yourself into prominence and forcing your way into power.

Thats the way to establish ranks.

This works. I wouldn't mind helping - I imagine as an NFU in a relatively high ranks, Avadreia could help to smooth the path for the establishment of NFU ranks, and I'd be comfortable helping with that, but it would have to be in the right way.
