Culture and General Behavior:

The race as a whole tends to value law and order as well as strict government adherence over more basic freedoms and democracy. Due to their culture's history and the beginnings of their colony thousands of years ago, Neznakomtsyans prefer a strong, centralized government with a single political party to lead and control the state.

Neznakomtsyans are often considered paranoid by galactic standards due to their tendency to watch newcomers and keep tabs on strangers, despite their welcoming outlook towards new beings. Many put this down to curiosity, others to paranoia, but the general reasoning is that Neznakomtsyans prefer to know those they're around fully before taking their eyes off them.

Neznakomtsyan culture revolves around laws and the government system. They generally have a harsh outlook on lawbreakers and punishments for breaking the law, leading outsiders to see them as overly strict and, in some cases, barbaric in regards to their legal systems. Many consider their punishments second only to Hutts in harshness in some circles.

Neznakomtsyan society is equal opportunity, granting no benefits towards males or females of the species. The species also believes that duty to the state is paramount, meaning most Neznakomtsyans have often spent time in the military or worked for their government in some way, shape, or form. In general, however, most believe that hard work is to be considered a goal, not a chore, and the population tends to lend itself as a whole to their labors and state projects.

A strange fact about the Neznakomtsyan mindset seems to be their ability to handle high levels of emotional and mental stresses with relative ease. What little medical evidence is known is that Neznakomtsyans seem to be able to minimize or compartmentalize that region of their brain. How they do so is unknown, but is believed to be the root of their mindset towards hard work, order, and unity. Theories speculate wildly, but the common belief is that the root cause is a type of trance or perhaps a "state of mind", much like the Jedi achieve. This seems to be passive and affects all of the race, both Force sensitive and non-Force sensitive, but allows them to operate in highly stressful fields and areas far, far longer than a standard human. Because of this, it appears that normal mental problems associated with high stresses and other triggers such as disassociative disorders and PTSD are very low among the Neznakomtsyans.

However, it must be noted that while the stress thresholds are very high, they are not immune, it seems. In fact, in the few cases found where Neznakomtsyans have suffered mental or nervous breakdowns, treatments are far more complex and take far, far longer compared to standard humans. Also, long term effects seem more pronounced and are often far more detrimental than in other areas of the galaxy. The general outlook of the population towards these individuals is a strange sort of out of sight, out of mind mentality, though the care for the individuals appears to be top notch. Few Neznakomtsyans seem willing to speak on the matter, however, leading to a possible racial fear of losing one's mind.

Technology level: Standard
History:

Little is known about the initial colonization outside of stories passed by word of mouth that were later put to paper. The general themes were that settling the worlds was difficult and frought with danger, death, and hardships. In order to survive, the colonists banded together under a single banner, giving absolute to the group that led them. General plots from various sources place this occurrance many thousands of years ago.

In time, the situation stablized and societies formed, still following the same group, now a political party, that had led them before. Time went on and the other moons were settled and established with populations of their own. By the time of the clone wars, two things had happened. First, the worlds had been fully settled and established, each with a stable economy and population. Second, due to genetic mutations, natural adaptations, and a variety of other biological processes, the beings inhabiting the system deviated genetically from humans and became near-humans.

The system remained undiscovered before the Gulag Plague and, when the Gulag Plague struck, were untouched. Life went on with minimal occurrances outside a minor uproar or riot every other decade or so until it was rediscovered when the Gulag Plague lifted. The discovering parties were raiders and slavers who found the worlds and deemed them easy pickings.

As the Neznakomtsyan fleet salvaged the wrecks of the raiding ships, hyperspace data back to the galaxy as a whole was discovered. Using the wreckage to reverse engineer the technology found, they developed their own hyperspace engines, hyperdrives, and commlinks. Armed with new technology, the Neznakomtsyans have managed to burst out of their system and, after a few trial and error runs with the new hyperdrives, rediscovered the galaxy for the first time since the colony was settled.

This looks very nice but I would like to see some more history of the species. Explain more about them on the world and setting up their society, explain their first interactions with the galaxy was like and how it might have changed them.
