Next Timeline Update

Status
Not open for further replies.
As previously promised, every six months we'll be looking to do a small time hop forward. This hinges on having enough events that influenced the board to make a timeline update.

Here's where you, our lovely members, come in. We need events, you know what happened. Member submissions of events that influenced tides and times on the board are necessary for a timeline update to be made. Without enough that have weight, we will bump this down the road another six months and do a slightly larger time jump then.

Please include:

An overview of what happened, including if possible farther reaching effects

These should be things that affected more than one faction, or large scale public events with many participants. Submission doesn't promise inclusion in the next timeline update, but the more far reaching the event is, the more people involved and impacted, the more likely it will be.

Hit me with your best shot Chaos, whatcha got?

Event: The Zati Tsis Rebellion - The False Sith Rebellion
Threads:
Major Players:

As the Sith Empire expanded its dominion across the Tingel Arm, the gaze of the Emperor and the apparatus of the Sith-Imperial war machine moved ever further from the light of the Imperial capital; Bastion. In the Emperor's temporary absence from the seat of power, those possessing cunning ambition sought to supplant the Emperor's visionary system of power with one of their own making. But before they could enact their traitorous plans, their intentions were betrayed by one who had once considered himself among their ranks. Fleeing from the Emperor's executioners, the heretical Sith fled to the Unknown Regions to escape his wrath and branded themselves as the Jen'ari.

To expand their power, the Jen'ari sought control of the weakened Chiss Ascendancy. But their actions brought word of their whereabouts to the Sith Empire, who had been in league with certain elements of the Chiss Ascendancy for some time. The Jen'ari, in their scheming, had also brought forth the ire of the Sith-led Confederacy of Independent Systems, who found themselves in an accord with their cousins in the Sith Empire on the method by which they would rid themselves of these heretics.

Invasion.

A joint-operation into Chiss space shattered the Jen'ari's tenuous hold on the region, driving them back into the darkness. Ever vigilant, the Empire and the Confederacy scoured the galaxy before finally cornering the Jen'ari in one of the galaxy's distant spiral arms near Wild Space. It was there that the heresy of the Jen'ari was burned away, their strongholds gutted and their followers put to the sword. Though considered to be leaderless and scattered, the Sith Empire keeps an ever-watchful eye out for any further heretical uprisings.

Name of Event: An Order Sundered - The Collapse of the First Order

The Major Players:

The once indomitable military power, the First Order has collapsed. Its territories, extending from the furthest reaches of the Outer Rim all the way to the Core were ravaged in a series of sabotage and conquest operations by their old enemy the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium, hampering efforts to muster defensive posts. Already significantly fatigued from conquests during the Great Galactic War, the Order was unable to push back the initial onslaught. Dosuun, the proud capital of the Order, was blitzed by the Imperium, which brought insurmountable forces to bear on the First Order capital, forcing the beleaguered empire into a retreat and final stand over Bakura.

The battle was pitched and fierce, with the First Order aided by the Sith and Chiss; but the Imperium's onslaught proved devastatingly effective, causing naval and military forces to suffer extensive casualties at Dosuun and in the intervening evacuations. After the fall of Bakura, the First Order was forced from its holdings, and whatever remnants that survived had become divided into two groups. The first, led by Grand Admiral Cyrus Tregessar, took the remaining command vessels and departed for Lwhekk. It would be a suicide mission, but one which would avenge the empire's fall. The other group, formed from the fragments of the Sixth and Seventh Fleets led by Grand Admiral Carlyle Rausgeber, withdrew to the fortified planet of Pa’Desh, a First Order ally in the Unknown Regions, to rebuild and restructure.

In the wake of the collapse, the once proud and stable dominion of the First Order was a wasteland, ravaged by Ssi-Ruuk forces, or warred over by fanatics whose loyalty still lay with Supreme Leader Sieger Ren, who had not been seen since the failed breakout at Skye. In the absence of a strong First Order government, the systems fell into chaos, leading to the rise of factions, isolated from the remnants of the fleets but ambitious enough to claim the mantle of warlords. Meanwhile, neighboring galactic powers capitalized on the chaos, revenging themselves on the First Order’s territorial dominions once the dust settled.

Since the initial fall, the remnant junta has taken to consolidating its power: reconnecting with units and strongholds who were either successful in repelling the Imperium or those who had managed to flee the farthest and fastest - not a peaceful or simple venture. Those who sense the vulnerability in the remnant government have taken launching their own schemes - grasping at straws of power in a bid to restore the First Order’s autocratic empire in their own image.

Although some may believe the First Order dead, there are undoubtedly those who will see to its return.

Event: The Headless Beast - Chaos in the Outer Rim
Threads:
Major Players:

Unsettled by the First Order's incursion at Skor II, in 856 ABY Sharukan forces broke their hermit empire's long stance of isolationism and began to forcibly annex vast swathes of Outer Rim Coalition space. Obsessed with rigid obedience and structure, the Sharuka saw these lawless territories along their border as an unacceptable state of affairs and occupied many Coalition worlds, attempting to 'uplift' their populations into a subservient vassal class. The opening shots of their invasion were fired when the Testoran Guard lured Underground agents to Binaros with a distress call from the temple there. Killing many of the Coalition's elite and scattering others into hiding, Sharukan forces under Overseer Zal were now free to move on the territories in force.

Quickly conquering western fringe worlds like Thral and Won Shasot, Coalition early responders met the Sharukan advance on the Nagai colony world of Saijo. Convincing the warrior people to join with them and live to fight another day, an ORC task force escorted the refugees to presumably safe space in the Terminus system. Arriving at the same time as a First Order Pacification Fleet, by Zal's design their hasty retreat accidentally triggered the Showdown on Terminus, an uprising against Imperial annexation that resulted in their would be oppressors being driven from the system at great cost to the Coalition's already meager standing militia forces.

With their fighters in tatters and no hope of preventing the Sharukan march on Kal'Shebbol, surviving Underground agents intercept reports of a super destructive bio-weapon in development on Yuuzhan'tar by rogue Qektoth scientists. Both sides realize that such a device has the potential to change the war, and Coalition operatives infiltrate the Yuuzhan Vong world at the same time as the Tyrax arrives in orbit with Overseer Zal himself aboard. Recognizing their opportunity, the Coalition successfully recovers and destroys the bio-weapon while a strike team boards the Tyrax intending to assassinate Zal.

Shortly after receiving word that their once inevitable victory over Kal'Shebbol has been unexpectedly disrupted by the vanguard of a resurgent Ssi-ruuvi Imperium, Zal is put to the saber and the Underground escapes from the system. Stunned by this new war front and now leaderless, the Sharukan Empire is routed back into Wild Space by Ssi-ruuk warbands before their tide of conquest violently implodes when a vanquished First Order strikes back at Lwhekk. Deftly navigating the fall of tyrannical powers, Coalition guerillas use this opportunity to drive the First Order rearguard off of Sullust and Elrood and an Alliance Remnant is reborn. Now poised to strike at the last great Ssi-ruuk stronghold in the sector, Sluis Van's fate is yet to be decided.
