New Senate Rules

Purpose: To encourage more people to actively RP political characters.

Rational: One of the biggest differences between RPing a Force user as opposed to anything else on the board is the progression from apprentice to master. It is a rewarding experience that helps one feel more involved in the character as they grow. Sadly in this galaxy one can just start a senator, a general, or whatever right off the get go for the most part.

Who this effects: Those who do not already have senator characters. Though, it is highly encouraged that they restart just for the sake of involvement.

Rules:
1. No one starts as a senator anymore.
2. They must work their way into that position by RPing as some other variety of political character. (Diplomat, Senatorial staff, etc.)
3. After a time of proving activity they may be elected to the senate.
4. If two or more players seek election of the same planet then elections will be held.
5. No specific time required, just activity enough to be considered a good candidate.
6. Approval by faction staff only.

As stated this will not change already existing characters.

Until we gain more senators, for Senate threads Jedi Masters without senate characters may RP a senator NPC. Eventually this will no longer be in effect if we get more senators. These NPCs are meant exclusively for the Senate Forum and do not have any purpose outside of it.
^This is up for debate more than most other rules.

Rules of Bills were introduced awhile ago but I would like to show them off again and retool them a little bit.

Rules of Bills:
1. A development thread is required. This entails gathering support, scheming, etc. 40 posts minimum between 2 senators.
2. When a Bill is submitted it must in the proper format (evidently this no longer exists, so one will be made again soon) including development thread(s) and participants.
3. If the Bill passes but the Faction Admins do not think it benefits the faction in any way then it can be denied. Likewise the Supreme chancellor may veto the Bill, but if the Faction Admins think it should be allowed then it can be approved.
4. Votes of No Confidence require serious development threads (no specific post numbers) and require Faction Admin approval.
5. Abuse of the rules may mean revoking the privilege of a player to put forth Bills.

Input on all of the above is appreciated.

No. Meta-gaming is meta-gaming by any other name. Writers who have earned a Jedi Master character are not special. They are not an elite, they are not a click, and they should not be pandered to.

I might request this be changed from 'Jedi Masters' to 'Faction Admins'.

No. Meta-gaming is not Administrating. If the Staff cannot allow the Supreme Chancellor to RP his character at his own discretion, then the position of Supreme Chancellor should be abolished all together. Or,

I might request that the position of Supreme Chancellor be held by a Faction Admin at all times.

Should the position of Supreme Chancellor be held by a Faction Admin at all times, Votes of No Confidence should not be allowed. Nor would they be necessary at all. See above concerns.

Everything else looks like a very good start. Way to go Selena! :D

(Oh, and remember. Selena can create as many Faction Admins as he so desires, for whatever reason he so desires. That position is only limited by the number of individuals that Selena trusts enough to empower as Staff. *wink*)

So far at least from the last few Supreme chancellors they have been faction admins already or promoted to it.

But I like everything else I'd just change jedi masters to the faction itself all have a say
