  • Wealth: High
  • Stability: High
  • Freedom & Oppression: Most of the citizens of New Junction are happy Imperials, however, it being in the Empire means their overall Freedom is infringed. Frequent surveillance by COMPNOR, a full garrison of Stormtroopers and Defense Forces, and a fleet above the planet impart feelings of safety but also suffocation. Lower classes of citizens also do not benefit as much from New Junction's industries as they would in freer systems such as the Alliance despite its overall wealth being high. The Moff of Junction and the system is a staunch Paelleonist and so it is freer than most Imperial cities but still, an Imperial city.
  • Description: New Junction was a coastal city with a strong nascent military tradition influenced by the Mandalorians. A trading hub at the crossroads of several hyperlanes and super-hyperlanes the city has seen a prosperous time under the Empire. Its architecture inspired by Mandalorian and Imperial designs is brutalist. It sports a bustling port district with Imperial pleasure barges for the rich and a prominent limmie scene bringing in sports fans from across the Empire. Its main domestic industry was producing tibanna and its scrap industry but is home to a local branch of the Mining Guild.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • New Junction Grand Terminal - The main hub of ground and space transport, Grand Terminal was New Junction's primary starport. It also connected various sectors of the city via mag-rail. Grand Terminal's mag-rails went from the coastline of New Junction all the way across the continent as well as the various settlements and smaller cities on the planet. Imperial and personal pleasure barges often launched from Grand Terminal over the bay.
  • Skinker's Salvage - Located a few dozen miles outside of the city proper, Skinker's Salvage was an old, family-run salvage yard that saw a large boom after the fall of the Mandalorians. Using their reputation as an expert salvage operation, they secured several contracts with the Empire to break down Sith warships as well as any other salvage found. They made frequent use of Jawas and their Starcrawler junker ships.
  • Fort Braxis - Once Fort Tefka, Fort Braxis was renamed after the Empire re-took the planet. Named for Lord Regent Hawke Braxis who kept the people together and gave his life fighting Sith Tyranny, Fort Braxis was the largest military fortification in the city providing training and housing for the Red Legion. It was also the home of Knight Regent Melvain Braxis.
  • Imperial Center - Once New Junction's military sector, Imperial Center was where the majority of the official Imperial military presence was stationed. It consisted of its own starport, barracks for Sector Defense Forces and Stormtroopers, several armories, and hangars for mechanized units and starfighters.
  • New Junction Memorial Hospital - A military hospital dedicated to those Mandalorians and Red Legionnaires who fought to free New Junction.
  • New Junction Memorial Square - A memorial park that was meant to imitate the one that had been destroyed by the Sith Empire during their occupation. A smaller imitation of the original Memorial statue was built in a fountain here, though the Jedi Grand Master was replaced with Hawke Braxis and the Mandalorians replaced with Stormtroopers.
  • New Junction University - A large university. It didn't hold the prestige of a Core world university but it was one of the best in the Empire. It was known for producing military history experts and had a connection to the Imperial Military academy as well as several exchange programs with the Alliance's Gilad Paelleon Officer's Academy. Said exchange programs were canceled and students were ordered to return to Imperial Space after the Battle of New Alderaan.
  • The Nexus - The home stadium of New Junction's premier Limmie team the New Junction Nexus. It had a bronzium statue of Irveric Tavlar displayed prominently at its entrance, thanking the Empire for its salvation from the Sith Empire and allowing them to continue the sport they loved.

SECURITY: Medium
The personal forces of Moff Melvain Braxis included the Crimson Command, a small fleet of red Imperial destroyers, as well as elements of the Imperial Navy patrolled Faerie Junction and its neighboring systems. On the surface, a garrison of Shore and standard Stormtroopers, Sector Defense Forces, and local Red Legionnaires made up its defensive ground compliment. Planetary turbolasers and a city planetary shield from its time under the Mandalorians also defend the city. In the far reaches of the system, Imperial Mining guild ships watch for smugglers and illegal prospectors.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Situated at the center of two super-hyperroutes, the Hydian Way and the Mara Corridor, and four total hyperlanes Fearie Junction was a prominent trade world in the Theseme Sector. Even before the Mara was charted and founded though, Junction saw prominence as a trade world under the Mandalorians and was the location of two pivotal battles in their war against the Sith Empire. Destroyed during the first Battle of Junction, it was retaken after the Mandalorians sought the aid of the Republic and the Jedi Order. After reconstruction, New Junction, as it would be called, became an important logistics hub for the Mandalorians and became heavily militarized. Then Mand'alor Gilamar Skirata and his second, Strider Garon, founded the Red Legion, a foreign military unit of volunteer soldiers who wished to fight the Sith under the banner of the Mandalorians but did not wish to fully assimilate into their culture. The site of the Red Legion's main base of operations became New Junction where the Red Legion would go on to serve in more defensive roles after the war with the Sith ended.

After the collapse of the United Clans of Mandalore, the Red Legion took control of the system under the leadership of Hawke Braxis who took the title of Regent. The world would go on to maintain some form of independence for years before the Mandalorians returned under the Mandalorian Empire. Brought in by friendly faces from the past, Braxis maintained Junction's relatively independent stance during the reign of Mand'alor Yasha. The world would be one of the first casualties of the Sith's betrayal however as the Sith moved to take worlds from the Mandalorians with whom they had been building a tenuous new friendship with. Under Sith Imperial control monuments to the Jedi and Mandalorians were destroyed or confiscated. It wouldn't be until news returned to Regent Braxis that his son, Melvain Braxis had been captured by the New Imperial Order during the Sith-Imperial Civil War that the Red Legion and Fearie Junction would rebel against the Sith.

The city would be devastated by Sith brutality in the rebellion by orbital bombardment. In the chaos of war, Regent Braxis was killed leaving the people of Junction without a leader. Returned as a Knight in the New Imperial Order's Force Corps, Melvain would sweep through Sith Imperials in a brutal campaign after the battles of Darkness Falls and Tratior's Gate. Under the Empire, the city was rebuilt and trade re-established with the surrounding area as the Sith were slowly pushed from the Outer Rim. Years of rehabilitation and New Junction stands tall as a shining example of a New Imperial city. Its citizens found incredible wealth as traders and several prominent Gas Giant mining corporations made the city their headquarters due to the world's proximity to Yavin and their Corusca Gems. Salvage was also one of the city's primary industries, the lower class workers finding their fortunes pulling apart vessels destroyed or decommissioned during the war with the Sith. As a result however, an underground market for Sith artifacts and Sith memorabilia was prominent in the city's underworld.

As one of the Empire's shining examples, the Imperial Mission had a heavy presence in the city as did the Imperial Knights. Many of the facilities once used to train Mandalorian Supercommandoes and Red Legionnaires now served to bring up the next generation of Stormtroopers and Imperial Knights. Its university, while not the cream of the crop, did hold some weight with corporations in nearby sectors and the Outer Rim. New Junction was quickly becoming a city known for its opulence and devotion to the Empire. Though the world has not seen much of the war against the Brotherhood of the Maw or the Chiss rebels, the city observed several weeks of mourning when Emperor Fel was killed in battle at Tython. With their Knight Regent returned from Tython and the age of Strife begins, New Junction faces an Empire at odds with itself.
