SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Fuel Tank - The back plate of New Imperial Flame Armor comes with a 5 gallon durasteel/plastoid alloy fuel tank that can safely fit most common flammable substances. The fuel tank has a circular top that can be sealed by a hinged lid or inserted into the tube for an incendiary weapon, providing it with fuel. In emergencies, the fuel tank can be removed from the Flame Armor by detaching its two hooks from two corresponding secure points on the back armor plate.
  • Pyro Mask - The headpiece of the Flame Armor is a combination of a helmet and a mask. While sturdy enough to resist damage from opposing forces, the headpiece's mask portion serves a much more important purpose. Since the helmet is entirely airtight, the mask contains a filter that removes toxins from the surrounding air and then circulates it into the helmet, allowing for a trooper to avoid breathing in the smoke and cinders created by their weaponry or their environment.
STRENGTHS

  • Pyro's Panties - New Imperial Flame Armor is a pyromaniac's dream, designed to be capable of maximizing the offensive potential of a flametrooper. Consequently, New Imperial Flame Armor has a remarkably high fire resistance for its price, its plated armor and insulated facial region allowing for its users to walk through burning forests unfazed while contributing to its demise. Additionally, the fuel tank on the back of Flame Armor allows for flametroopers to be liberal in the use of their weaponry.
  • Blast Resistance - Alongside its fire resistance, New Imperial Flame Armor also has a notable resistance to the degrading effects of sudden high temperatures resulting from explosives. Consequently, Flame Armor can stand up to indirect explosives such as the shockwave from an artillery blast without much difficulty. However, Flame Armor provides much less protection against a direct hit from a grenade, rocket launcher, or other explosive device.
WEAKNESSES

  • Soft Insides - Since Flame Armor is primarily focused around high heat resistance with few basic protections, it is not difficult for conventional weaponry to penetrate Flame Armor in most areas, especially the sections only protected by the leather body glove. Even the rigid armor plates in the chest, back, and face regions of Flame Armor can be pierced in a single shot by most sniper rifles.
  • The Legs - New Imperial Flame Armor has close to no plating below the waist, leaving the legs of flametroopers very vulnerable. Even basic handguns can easily penetrate any part of the Flame Armor's leg portion above the knees, so troopers must be careful to ensure that their lower body is in peak condition.
DESCRIPTION

As the ranks of the Stormtrooper Corps swelled, its leaders realized that new armor would soon be needed.
There were numerous trooper specialties, from scouts to snipers to demolitions experts. However, it was the incendiary field where the most rapid growth was occurring. As more flametroopers joined the ranks of the Corps, it was soon found that basic stormtrooper armor limited their performance in combat and did not provide sufficient protection from the heat of their own weapons. Consequently, work began on a specialized fire-resistant armor.

After two months of development, their final product was ultimately deemed satisfactory: it provided both sufficient fire resistance and enough armor to keep a trooper safe from most blasts.
