OOC INFORMATION
STRUCTURE INFORMATION
  • Location: Kashyyyk System, in orbit of Kashyyyk
  • Affiliation: Helix Syndicate, GenoHaradan
  • Station Model: Cardan V-class Space Station
  • Classification: Merchant
  • Defenses: To preserve power and space, New Hsskhor does not feature any of the laser cannons or turbolaser batteries typically found on stations of its type. Instead, there are various point defense emplacements scattered around and a few tractor beams to boot. To put it shortly, ships larger than a freighter should not be very worried about the station’s defenses. Otherwise, the station’s primary defenses are its shield generator and sturdy make.

Internally, New Hsskhor possesses manned security checkpoints between the more densely populated deck areas. These checkpoints include metal and explosives detectors and auto-turret defenses. Major hallways on each deck also include ray shield traps. Security cameras are also prevalent. No one so much as sneezes on New Hsskhor without the Syndicate finding out about it.

POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Red Decks [20% of station space]
Due to its affiliation with the Bounty Hunter’s Guild and the Trandoshan Bounty Hunter’s Alliance, New Hsskhor features a dedicated wing for holding incarcerated individuals who are awaiting processing. These are known as the Red Decks. There are enough cells and facilities in this wing to comfortably hold just under three thousand prisoners at any time. These prisoners rarely stay put for more than a month or two, of course.

[*]Green Decks [60% of station space]
  • The Green Decks are, essentially, warehouses. Due to the large amount of exported materials coming from the foresting operation on Kashyyyk, there must be ample space to store those materials. The massive cargo containers containing Wroshyr lumber and leaves are kept on the Green Decks until picked up by various merchants from around the galaxy.

[*]Blue Decks [15% of station space]
  • New Hsskhor receives a lot of traffic from both hunters, lumber mill workers, and merchants. The station manager strives to generate an enjoyable experience for these people to ensure their continued patronage. The Blue Decks are designed to do this, consisting of shopping malls, promenades, restaurants, show rooms, and more.

[*]Yellow Decks [05% of station space]
  • Security is important to the Helix Syndicate and its allies. To this end, a large amount of space has been dedicated to maintaining law and order on the station. The Yellow Decks consist of armories, control rooms, and detention blocks specifically kept for non-bounty targets. Yellow Decks also house maintenance areas and power generators, keeping them under heavy guard to prevent sabotage.

[*]The Orange Deck
  • Housed in the same section as the Yellow Deck, the very existence of the Orange Deck is kept under wraps. It is perpetually closed off from intrusion, maintenance being the cited issue. The Orange Deck an elaborate listening post built into the station. It intercepts, decrypts, and stores all transmissions coming in and out of the Kashyyyk system. The equipment housed here is very sophisticated and, when properly attuned, can also intercept all interplanetary communications in the whole Mytaranor Sector. Many of the Blue Deck recreation areas and lodgings are also bugged in addition to the Red Deck cells. Conversations held in these areas are also monitored when they may be of importance. The trained, elite staff of Helix Syndicate Communications technicians work tirelessly, aiding in their work by an Aurelius-Class Decryption Engine.

DESCRIPTION

New Hsskhor is a large, refurbished Cardan-V Space Station operated by the Helix Syndicate at the behest of several large, allied corporations. The station is used most heavily by Mytaranor Lumber, serving as the primary point of export for their products. Processed Wroshyr tree products, like sap and lumber, are shipped up to New Hsskhor station for safekeeping. Merchants from around the galaxy then arrive at New Hsskhor to purchase these materials, either for their own purposes or to sell them elsewhere at markup.

Aside from the various merchants, Trandoshans and Bounty Hunters operating in the area also make ample use of the station, as it provides adequate facilities for the temporary housing of their bounties when not traveling. Because of this, those who place bounties on others typically list New Hsskhor as the designated drop off point. It saves them the trouble of having to meet with bounty hunters and also keeps their target from escaping. The Bounty Hunter’s Guild operates a lodge on the station as a result, hoping to recruit more hunters into their organization.

In order to make money from the operation, the Helix Syndicate places a 5% Sales Tax on all transactions which take place inside of the station. Aside from the obvious sale of Wroshyr products by Mytaranor Lumber, this includes the operations of the various vendors on the Blue Decks, as well as any bounties claimed by dropping them off at the station. Security on the station is handled by Helix Syndicate Enforcers in collaboration with Corondex Arms’ Wraithguard, but passing Trandoshan mercenaries and bounty hunters may also elect to defend the station if a firefight breaks out.
