Description: Built off the remains of the elegant building that once stood prior to the One Sith invasion of Alderaan, this super structure remains in the heart of New Aldera City and stands a testament to the hardened will of the Alderaanian people. It is built on a rise on the edges of the city, much like the old Palace once was – overlooking the recently restored Organa Lake. The new compound is surrounded by layered defenses that include mammoth ramparts as well as an assemblage of well-placed defensive turret systems spread throughout the two kilometer compound. Beneath the foundation – durasteel as well as other materials were layered to prevent ground penetration by enemy forces as they had done so before. On the edge of the compound, a warning system was installed that allowed better reaction time for the Alderaan and Republic defense forces to evacuate citizens and prevent loss of life.

The internal parts of the palace have been relatively left unchecked. They contain kilometers of winding corridors, bedrooms of all manner, shapes and sizes – ballrooms that are fit for any occasion as well as reception rooms that rival the most storied places in the Galaxy. The Grand Reception room was restored and is contained in the central plaza of the Palace while one of the Grand Ballroom featured the marble staircase leading from a throne room, a bridge over-looking a reflecting pool as well as a study for both Alyesa Organa and Faith-Balor Organa – to which overlooked Lake Organa and was surrounded by a garden composed of their favorite flowers. The Royal High Council room was located in the rear of the compound and had massive 30ft doors that were made from thick wroshyr wood and contained nothing more than a well-polished oak table. The table itself was circular in nature and had sixteen chairs surrounding it – each chair contained a Royal Crest, and the largest chair had the crest of the Organa family at the “12 o’clock” position, presumably the head seat. Although Aldera Palace contained several entrances – they were modified in secret to allow adequate escape for civilians and nobles alike – should the need arise. The First Hall – which was the primary hallway that led to the Grand Hall, was decorated with statues, holo-art and sculptures. These artifacts were recovered by various individuals throughout the Galaxy and brought back to Alderaan – to their rightful place. The First Hall is also home to the offices of dignitaries and nobles of the lower houses on Alderaan – to include the Alderaan Department of Fine Arts.

The First Hall was just one of many ways to get to the Grand Hall, especially for visitors. The Grand Hall was the center of the Palace, so to speak. It was a pathway to a series of chambers, both up and down – lined with marble pillars that had intricate golden designs emblazoned upon them. One pathway might lead someone to the Alderaanian Royal Court, whilst another led to the heavily guarded Throne Room. A path on the main floor which was lined with statues of nobles past led the visitor to the doors of the Royal High Council Chambers. There were many paths that visitors could take but not enter, obviously for security reasons. It is said that there are secret pathways to the mountains where a Hanger containing transports for the nobility and civilians inside the Palace are on constant ready to leave the system. It is also said there is a modified command center to organize troop movement and defenses if the planet were to be invaded again.

The New Aldera Royal Palace was meant to make up for the flaws of the old – defenseless and weak, however it didn't lose the touch of elegance that Alderaan was known for.

History: The Aldera Royal Palace is also known as House Organa, this Palace was once a centuries old building that was the heart of Aldera City. It is the home of the Royal House of Organa – as well as the offices of many nobles and dignitaries. Throughout the history of the Galactic Republic, it has been an icon for elegance and beauty – but that ceased to be when the One Sith invaded Alderaan during the Great War. Not only did the One Sith make it a testament to destroy the complex around Aldera Palace, they brought the Palace down. After disarming the armament left behind by Princess Alyesa Organa, who intended to destroy the Palace and the Sith within – they taunted the Royal House by defaming the very seat that their family held for generations. Then when they had rubbed enough salt into the wound – a monstrosity was unleased upon the Palace, and soon the elegant building that had stood for thousands of years, vanished in a smoldering ruin.

However, the One Sith didn’t stop there.

The Yuuzhan Vong came and desecrated the very ground it stood upon, vongforming the area with their foul creations. It took a Galactic event of epic proportions and a private Army to finally retake Aldera City – and Alderaan but the damage had been done, six years had passed and Alderaan was suffering. The Queen had not returned to Alderaan for she had no throne, so Princess Alyesa took it upon herself – with the assistance of private investors and her own funding, to rebuild what was once their home. She had to start somewhere, the people of Alderaan needed a beacon of light – a sign of hope. What would serve better than the Palace that once stood in the heart of the city? So the work began and after several months – the Palace was complete and people began returning home. Refugee camps were built around the Palace complex in order to accommodate those displaced by the war, and once again – the Palace became a sign that Alderaan would not give up or give in.

Intent: To recreate what was destroyed – the proper way.
