Primary Weapons: Turbolasers
The turbolaser emplacements, on both sides of the ship, are positioned 20 feet from each other to prevent multiple targeting/destruction from incoming starfighters or other capital warships. With the positioning of the primary weapons and the length of the starship itself, the total number of turrets is 50; 25 per side.
Secondary Weapons (Defense): Point-Defense Cannon

These smaller cannons are used to fast-track and target incoming enemy starfighters. Unlike their brothers and sisters, the turbolaser cannons, they are used in defense of the ship and are mounted on swivels that rotate 180 degrees. Their punch is not as powerful as the primary weapons on the ship, but they are powerful enough to penetrate through starfighters shields, but not other capital warship shields, hence the defense aspect of their nature.

Also, these cannons can also track and destroy incoming missiles directed at the starship. They are positioned around the turbolaser cannons while a few are mounted on top and underneath the ship. Total number is 26; 5 on top, 5 on bottom, 8 on each side.

Hangar:

1 squadrons of Black Talon Starfighters for a total of 8. *Note....the Black Talon Starfighters (see link) is grouped in to an 8 count rather than the traditional 12*

1 squadron of BR-Devastator.

2 Transport Shuttles. The shuttles are used mainly by the Captains/Admirals of the starship for various reasons such as fleeing a crippled vessel to docking with another starship (i.e. meetings)


Special Features:

* Orbital Strike Cannon: The cannon is mounted underneath the vessel and is guarded by five point-defense cannons (see armament). The laser is not powerful enough to penetrate planetary shields, but are deadly enough to ground forces once the planet's shields are down.

* Escape Pods: Seven escape pods are attached to the starships left flank. The escape pods are used by only officers and medical personal in the event the order is given to abandon ship.

* Deflector Shield

* Life Support System: The system is in place to allow for the starship to sustain life while out in the galaxy. When the starship is docked, the life support system is recharged. The life support system has a maximum working efficiency of three months.

* Sensor Array: Standard issue. It is used to detect incoming ships/projectiles, collect data from the surrounding area, navigation, charting/plotting.

* Communications Array: The system is designed to keep in contact with other starships, the starship's personal starfighters, and commanders/troops on the ground. It possess a galaxy wide holonet service to allow for communication with "out-of-line sight" starships, space stations, and planets. However, this system is not functional to maintain contact with ground forces that are "not in-line-of-sight" (meaning over great distances).

* Advanced Targeting Computer: This computer is an upgraded version of the standard targeting computer to allow for the ship's computer system to easily track incoming targets or seek targets in the field.

* Navigation Computer: It allows for navigation officers to plot safer and less time consuming routes through hyperspace travel.

* Meditation Chamber: Can only be used by those with the Force.

* Command Center: A special enclosed room was created on the bridge where the Captain/Admiral could track both space and planetside battles. The computer displayed holoimages of the planet's terrain, blue for foe and red for friendly, when this function was in use. When the feature was in play for space battles, the same colour coded icons were displayed. This allowed for the Captain/Admiral of the starship to assist with the ground forces commanders.

* Encryption Module: The module's main function is two-fold. The first function is to allow for the communications officer's to send encrypted messages (such as orders, troop movements, etc) between ground forces and other ships without the threat of the enemy "peeking." The secondary function is to assist the com officers in trying/attempting to decrypt enemy transmissions.

* Jammer: The jammer is used to disrupt enemy communications.

* Cargo Capacity: The ship has a massive cargo hold area where supplies such as weapons, building materials (mostly used for constructing temporary bases/command centres for ground troops), replacement parts, tools and dry consumables. It also has a computer monitored refrigeration system that holds perishable foods.

* Medical Bay: A medium sized medical bay is located in the centre of the starship. Varying models of medical droids are stationed in the MB to assist the medical staff.


* Prison Block: A prison block is located in the rear of the ship on the third level. The block is designed to hold no more than 10 prisoners (10 separate chambers make up the prison block).

* Housing Units (Crew / Officer Quarters)

Description:

The Neurio-Class Assault Frigate was designed to be the first in a long line of warships the Taobh Dorcha Industries plan to release. This model, at the request of Covenant of the Black Rose Council, was solely created from them. The production was classified as limited.

The warship's crew was broken down as follows.


* Crew:

- 30 Officers (Includes Captain/Admiral, Nav Officers, Com Officers, XO, Squadron Leaders)

- 20 Pilots (20 assigned to starfighters/bombers, 10 reservists)

- 100 Engineers / Mechanics

- 10 Medical Staff

- 140 Workers (Hanger Bay, Kitchen Staff, Bridge)

- 20 Prison Block Guards

- 300 Troops (for the defense and security of the starship or to be employed as reinforcements to the ground)

- Total: 632

Intent: To allow the Black Rose to have a warship as they continue to grow their Naval Fleet.

"slow" for a frigate would be 12, while "fast" would be 8.

Speed and Maneuverability 20 is a little silly for a Frigate.



Also, the maximum hanger size for a Frigate is 2 Squadrons, which is typically 12 starfighters. When asking for a squadron size in a starfighter submission, the number does not simply mean how many fly in a single grouping, but restricts how many can fit onto a ship using the 3.0 guide. Some shuttles and other large craft are restricted to squadron counts of 4-8, while smaller and simpler craft are allowed to reach larger squadron sizes, such as 18 or 24.

I would suggest making a submission modification request for the Black Talon Starfighters, increasing their squadron count to... 18 or 20. It's a small starfighter with a limited weapon profile, isn't overly fast or agile, and doesn't have any overly complicated or advanced systems.

(12 meter standard starfighter length, times standard squadron size of 12, =144. 144 divided by a 7 meter long starfighter comes out to 20.)


The two extra shuttles are fine, but I'll need you to specify that the ship has one squadron of Black Talon Starfighters and one squadron of BR-Devistators. (plus the two shuttles) The exact number of Black Talon Starfighters allowed on the ship will then depend on your submission modification request.

I appreciate the feedback and the tips.....this whole starship thing is new to me and I appreciate everything you are doing.

Changes: 1. Squad count to 1 = total of 8 SF (reason for it it in further subs).

2. Changed Speed/Manv to reflect more realistic numbers.

3. 1 squad of bombers
