OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create a Matriarch for the planet Arsenae.
  • Role: Nefeli is the Matriarch of the planet Arsenae. Overseeing and making important decisions that effect the entire planet. Mother of Ellie Ordo and Anna Omera.
  • Permissions: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 140 standard years
  • Force Sensitivity: Untrained Force Sensitive
  • Species: Arsenian
  • Appearance: Nefeli stands at 5'9", with a strong athletic build, blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin. Just like others of her species, she has scarcely aged and looks to be in her late thirties to early forties. Normally wears attire of the Matriarch when ruling and meeting with dignitaries (pic above). Most other times she wears more traditional outfits of the Arsenian people.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Nefeli Omera. Matriarch Omera. Queen on Arsenae.
  • Loyalties: Arsenae and its people.
  • Wealth: Wealthy. Nefeli's family owns a large plantation of Melia trees, along with a winery and a building for processing oil from the trees leaves.
  • Notable Possessions: Crown of the Matriarch. Wrist comlink. Her mothers necklace
  • Skills: Diplomat, combat, farming.
  • Personality: As a ruler, Nefeli keeps a level head to a point of having a stoic manner. Outside of her ruling tasks, she has a kind heart towards her family and is loyal to her friends. She tends to be wary of outsiders, since the first few run in with them ended up poorly. When dealing with offworlders, she tries her best to always put her people's intrests first and aims for neutral ground. Nefeli has a few habits that she tends to show. When frustrated or needs to think out tough decisions, she finds solace in her families orchard of Malia trees where she can be found tending them and thinking things through. Another place she can be found is her training grounds behind the family home, where she vents out the worst of her stresses. Nefeli has a habit of slightly flexing her right hand when nervous.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Heavy blaster pistols. vibrosword
  • Combat Function: As ruler of Arsenae, Nefeli is the acting chief of all military forces. While she trusts her generals and admirals, she has the final say in all military operations.
Strengths:
  • Leadership skills: Nefeli has been leading Arsenae for sixty years. Her reign starting ten years before the second contact with the outside galaxy and their first steps into it. She has had plenty of time to hone her skills as a diplomat for both her people and in dealing with new ones from beyond their home planet.
  • Combat skills: Before Nefeli was Matriarch of Arsenae, she was the right hand of the previous Matriarch. With this position, she was sent out to deal with anything that threatened the peace on Arsenae. For fifty years she honed her combat skills to perform this task to the best of her abilities. Nefeli excelled at hand to hand combat and with melee weapons. With the arrival of more advanced technology, her archery training was put aside in favor of blaster weapons. Long ranged weapons were never her specialty, but her skills with a blaster pistol are slightly above average.
Weaknesses:
  • Somewhat xenophobic: Nefeli isn't to trusting of anyone that isn't Arsenian, even more so of those that aren't human. This distrust is based off the Arsenians previous encounters with offworlders. They were almost driven to extinction thousands of years before by the Rakata, and during her reign, the planet was invaded by pirates. She doesn't truly hate outsiders, just distrusts them to a degree since she's trying to protect her people. Once she sees that someone isn't a threat, she puts aside most of her distrust and greets them as friends, especially those who support the Arsenians.
  • Loss and regret: Nefeli had three daughters, both taking after their mother in many ways. She was proud of them in everything they did and pushed them to excel even more. One day reports of a decent sized pirate base reached Nefeli's ears, a base that was close to their sector. Nefeli despatched a strike force to eliminate the threat. Her eldest daughter Ila begged to lead the team, insisting she was ready to prove herself. Nefeli, prideful in her daughter's skills, agreed to let her go. This was a decision that cost her her daughter's life. Nefeli was filled with regret for such a rash decision, one she knew was a mistake from the start but let her own pride of her children make a bad judgment. Because of this, she can sometimes be hesitant to send out strike teams against threats, even minor ones, before she goes over the plan a dozen times to make sure she won't be filled with the same regrets as she was with her daughter.
  • Leads from the front: Nefeli likes to be in the thick of things during combat. This can sometimes put her in harm's way, which is bad given her position as Matriarch. In more recent years she has been forced to lead troops from the back of the lines. While safer, it can make her frustrated that she can't see the whole picture.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Nefeli was born to a wealthy family who owned a farm with several large orchards of melia trees, from which they produced wine and oil from the leaves. Her early life was pretty typical for an Arsenian child, learning skills such as farming, combat and other necessary skills for day to day life. When she turned eighteen, she joined the military as was expected for someone her age. At the age of twenty, her squad was assigned as personnel guards for Maya, the Matriarch at the time, as she traveled across Arsenae. The two found that they shared a lot in common and became close friends.

By the time she was thirty, Nefeli was the right hand of Matriarch Maya and carried out her will across the planet. For fifty years she held this position and defended the people of Arsenae. During that time, she had two daughters and ran her family's orchard farm when she could. When Nefeli was eighty years old, Matriarch Maya passed away, leaving the role of Matriarch to Nefeli. A position that Nefeli wasn't sure if she was ready for. She proved herself wrong over the next ten years by leading her people with great skill she had learned from Maya. However, in her tenth year of ruling, an enemy the hadn't expected descended from the skies.

Pirates had found Arsenae and believed that they'd be easy prey with their inferior technology. This proved wrong as the Arsenians made short work of the pirates, forcing them to flee. Days later a Republic cruiser arrived looking for the pirates only to find the Arsenians. Since that day, Nefeli has been trying to rapidly bring the Arsenians up to speed as far as military technology in order to defend themselves.

I know that the pic is from the movie, but per the template we still need image credit with a source link.

To keep things simple, you can just link Wonder Woman's IMDB page.

  • Image Credit: [ Provide credit to the original artist of the images in your submission. Link to the web page where it can be found and state the name of the original artist if possible. Each image used must be credited. Use TinyEye, Google Image Search, or the Image Credit FAQ to help.]

Regarding your Strengths and Weaknesses, they are both more personality traits than things that are applicable in a combat setting. You say she has combat skills, but that can mean many things.

Basically, if this character had to fight someone, what would she be good at? What would she be bad at? Is she someone who would fight on the front lines, or is she more of a big picture person who would command her soldiers from the rear? Etc.

I'd recommend adding something to both categories that makes her strengths and weaknesses in a combat setting clearer.

For future reference, just imagine what kind of weapons and techniques they are good at and which they're not.

For instance, a character may be a good swordsman, tough and strong, but be poor at using a sniper rifle. Maybe they're very strong and tough, but not fast (think Mountain). Or very agile and precise, but have to rely on finesse rather than brute muscle strength (think Oberyn).

Or perhaps a character is hindered by mentality. For instance, they don't like fighting dirty and want 'honourable' combat. Or a character is a stealth expert, taking out enemies stealthily with a dagger and/or a sniper rifle, but the light, stealthy armour they wear obviously cannot absorb that many attacks since it's not tanky.

A common weakness for high-ranking officer types, like generals, is that since they tend to command their troops from the rear, they're not exactly elite fighters. A general tends to carry a pistol, not walk around in heavy armour with a big gun. If a character is a very strong Force-User, maybe they're so Force-reliant that they're significantly handicapped if deprived of the Force (for instance, Elpsis here is physically blind and needs the Force to see, so being around ysalamiri is bad for her). Or they're weak against certain techniques (for instance someone is a master lightsabre duellist, but has little formal training against mental attacks, illusions etc. or they're a strong mentalist, but not great at using a sabre).

Some people are good at leading, but instead of being big picture strategists who coordinate large armies, they're the lead from the front types. This is good for morale and inspiring for the troops, especially if they're real good in combat, but means that while they're good at attacking what's right in front of them (e.g. a town, a trench), they don't see the big picture and will have trouble commanding large forces since they're busy fighting. An example for this would be many Jedi Generals in Canon.

Hope that helps a bit for the future.

  • Loyalties: Arsenae and its people.
I did not notice this during my initial review, but please hyperlink Arsenae.

Once that's done I can approve this.
