ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • HIMS
  • Detachable center complex
Strengths:
  • Quick: The Necros Corvette is built to enter a system quickly and efficiently, as well be built to get away from a location as quickly as possible. Its lack of weaponry and heavy shielding is put into having a higher number of maneuverability thrusters and engines so it can avoid confrontations.
  • Detached: The central section of the Necros class Corvete is able to disengage from the two hyperspace wings on either side of the main hull, allowing it to land on the surface of a planet at will.
Weaknesses:
  • Light tap: With its reliance on speed and stealth, the Necros Corvette does not come heavily armed. Only two rotating heavy fighter cannons are placed along the vessel.
  • Frail: The Necros Corvette carries only light shielding and armor, allowing the vessel to move faster at the expense of further protection.
  • Firing Arcs: The Necros has all of its limited weaponry located directly forward or directly aft of the main section, allowing for only one hundred and eighty degree firing arcs in total. It cannot fire broadsides.
  • Vulnerable: When the center complex detaches from the hyperspace wings, the wings themselves lose all ability to move on their own. For this reason pilots will often hide the hyperspace rings at the edge of the system they are in, and fly the central complex to and from.
  • Overpowered: The engines of the Necros were originally designed for a craft several hundreds of meters longer then its own frame. This allows it to achieve incredible speeds, but at the cost of occasional overloads.
Description: The Necros class Corvette was designed and built by the New Sith Order under the direction of Darth Animus. The vessel is designed to provide a mobile base for Sith operatives across the galaxy, as well as transport vessels for NSO forces in the future. As such, a HIMS system was added to the vessel. As well, to allow the vessel to enter a system and land on a planet in quick order, the entire center complex of the Necros is able to detach from the two newly designed hyperspace wings.

HY/S84 Renewed Engines
Do you have a link for these please?

Does this work for typical space travel? Or just in the atmosphere?

Overall, this is four ratings too high. As always, you can balance this out by lowering ratings, adding significant weaknesses, or lowering production.

Lowered speed and maneuverability, added some more weaknesses, and changed the engines. It was a mix up, those other engines were meant for a different project, the correct ones are now there and linked.

Please answer this question.

Overall, we're looking better, but we're still two ratings too high.

Not entirely sure what you are asking to be honest. The central complex can travel on its own for short distances, but can't go to hyperspace. The wings themselves cannot move without the central complex, but they can remain attached to a vessel for landing on a planet.

As for the ratings, were the weaknesses not substantial enough to help things? I can't change much more without crippling the ship for it's intended purpose. I can add another weakness and lower one more rating maybe?

Can the Central complex fly around in normal space on its own as a separate starship? Or is this strictly a space to ground, atmospheric shuttle type of thing?

If the weaknesses listed are already reflected in a rating (such as the low armament) or do not reflect a rating (such as light shields/armor with a 'moderate' defense rating), I've not been counting those towards the balancing out for the additional rating bonuses. Some of the other weaknesses (such as the firing arcs) have some overlap with other balancing features already listed (the low weapons in this case) or are not significant enough to merit a full increase of a rating.

As a suggestion, what you could do is lower the defense rating to "Low", which would match the weakness description of "frail". This would give you enough ratings to keep the rest of the ship's features as they are.

The central complex can travel for short distances on its own without the hyperspace wings. Travel through systems and such, but anything more long term is not possible. As well, the amount of maneuverability it has is severely limited without the added power from the hyperspace wings. Losses both speed and maneuverability. Its primary use is a simple space to ground transport without the wings, providing a sizable mobile base for operations across a planet.

Lowered defense.

[member="Darth Animus"], ratings look good now.

If this can effectively function as another ship for system-wide travel, this central ship should probably be its own submission, with the "wings" acting as an aftermarket attachment option (like the hyperdrive rings on the prequel Jedi starfighters). Alternatively, it might be easier to limit this detach ability to orbital ability only (from space to ground, ground to space), etc.
