• Modularity: No.

  • Production: Limited

  • Material: Computer Components │ Durasteel Plating │ Faraday Cage │ Combat Deionizers
SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Anti-Ysalamiri Wavelength Generator

  • Two Modes

  • Directionalized Wavelength

  • Locale Neutralizing Wavelength
Strengths:

  • Anti-Mando -

As much of the Mandalorian military is based strictly on anti-force user bubbles capable of stopping most enemy combatants well versed in such arts; there is an equal market for cancelling out said fields. In this, Jaeger put its two cents in to recreate a product known for neutralizing Ysalamiri fields by killing the creature.

[*]
Small Form Factor -

  • Able to be held on a vambrace, on the back of an armor, or even a belt or pocket; the “Ri Qorit” is fully able to be hidden or attached to other armor with generally minimal effort.

[*]
Dual-Phase -

  • With a second mode, the device is capable of cancelling out the fields through the use of focused and magnified busts; effectively doubling the range at the cost of reliability. This allows more directionalized assaults against specific targets, instead of a wide encompassing area meant to kill squads of Ysalamiri. Stop the enemy in their tracks through focus, as it would be.

Weaknesses:

  • Range Deficit -

In traditional Locale use, one must not only submit themselves to the ysalamiri field, but end up deep within its reaches. With a limited range of 5 meters, most users would be within melee range to actually stop a Ysalamiri. This can severely restrict tactile ability.

[*]
Directionalized Ionic Energy -

  • Able to shrug off passive hits from ion blasts, a more dedicated assault through immeasurable means may very well bring down the device long before it is finishes what it needs to do. This includes sources like lightning, ionic weaponry, and the initial EMP blast from say, a nuclear weapon.

[*]
Overcharge -

  • In its second mode, the device suffers from a number of drawbacks. First, the accuracy of the device can be put in question, as there are no actual aiming sights or other assisting means. Second, this can only be done a few short and quick times without maintenance, as each ‘focusing’ of the device can cause an unintended feedback loop, effectively turning the device off for a short time. This can be up to 30 seconds, and after most tests it serves to show that these can only be done up to 10 times in any combat situation without failing; past that will force the device into a reboot that will require a trained technician to fix; while the main mode has a battery life of only a few hours, meaning long term engagements will see the device fall off without proper usage. Once more, if the device dies in combat, a hard reboot is required through a trained technician.

DESCRIPTION
Jaeger Solutions has long considered how it can sell devices to fight force users, but never considered how to assist force users in fighting back; and because of this they created another product for the masses whose design was given to the its founder for a short time during his stint during The Primeval. Recreating the device using known principles of biology, the recreated YND is capable of killing the now overbred lizard with minimal effort.

Just as its predecessor, the device doesn’t attempt to negate the force but to target the Ysalamiri itself; emitting a signal towards the animal that can cause a number of misfires within the creatures mind. On the same theory as soundwaves causing unforeseen consequences in humans, the wavelengths carry with them a misfire in the heart that will cause a number of valves close within the heart that would otherwise be open. Forcing the heart to seize is the first step in outright cardiac arrest, and without immediate response from the caretaker there is an extremely high probability for the ysalamiri to die within moments.

This device does not carry the needed information within it to actively harm other species, and is only designed to stop the heart of the Ysalamiri. Being smaller, and less advanced than more traditional combatants, it is relatively simple to send the signal compared to attempting to stop the heart of a full grown adult human by comparison.

In addition, unlike the original the more updated formfactor did add a faraday cage and combat deionizers with the small device to better allow protection from rogue emp eruptions, the likes of which produced by the edges of large scale ion strikes, or nuclear detonations. This however, does have its limits as any focused assault from electricity can indeed overpower the defensive measures implanted into it, and cause it to burst; likely causing harm to the user and more permanent damage to the device itself.

Overall, the device is to corner a market not often utilized in the modern day. Jaeger Solutions expands its products to meet any threat, and today is no different; after all, it pays more to sell arms to both sides of a conflict than just one. Either way, you supported the victor.

Added, and went into detail about the rogue emp eruptions. Made mention it would be what would likely be found on the edges of ion cannon strikes (not direct hits) and the resulting blast from say, a nuclear explosion.

Lower this to a Limited production and I'll approve this. Also if there is an inherent weakness to emp / ion disruptions, it should be a weakness as well, not a passing mention in the description.

Overcharge - In its second mode, the device is capable of cancelling out the fields through the use of focused and magnified bursts, which while it sounds like a strength can become a weakness for two reasons. First, the accuracy of the device can be put in question, as there are no actual aiming reticles or other assisting means. Second, this can only be done a few short and quick times without maintenance, as each ‘focusing’ of the device can cause an unintended feedback loop, effectively turning the device off for a short time. This can be up to 30 seconds, and after most tests it serves to show that these can only be done up to 10 times in any combat situation without failing; past that will force the device into a reboot that will require a trained technician to fix.
This is a strength with an attached weakness, wrapped up and packaged solely as a weakness. Please separate them so it is clear what is a strength and what is a weakness of that strength. I will re-review this in full once that's done.

For some reason I didn't get this tag, I apologize.

The only major issue I have with this is the ability to simply kill off Ysalamir. If you wouldn't mind altering this wording to something more along the lines of interrupt their ability, or cause the animal duress, or otherwise contain the potential to incapacitate, rather than outright kill the creature then I can pass this.

I mentioned the main mode has a restricted battery life of only a few hours, and should it die it can not be restarted without a trained technician. Also didn't realize, but I already have it set to limited instead of minor. Apologies.
