Nateo's armor is comprised of a two major components:
- Cortosis-Weave Fabric: A basic fabric that has been woven with Cortosis forms the basic under-webbing suit on which the armor plates are mounted, as well as the overcloak that drapes down over the shoulder. It provides above average protection from energy blasts by dissipating the energy over the full length of the suit, allowing for absorption of approximately two or three glancing shots, or a single direct shot from most standard blaster pistols and light rifles. The fabric can also protect the wearer from glancing blows with a lightsaber but not a against multiple direct strikes, although contact with lightsaber blades against the fabric will momentarily short out the blade's operation.
- Alchemically altered durasteel plates: Mounted to the fabric under-webbing and overcloak mentioned above are tempered durasteel plates that have been alchemically altered to increase durability beyond the properties of normal durasteel. These plates can deflect multiple (more than twelve) shots from blaster pistols and lighter rifles, six shots from heavier rifles and perhaps one or two direct shots from heavier weapons than than. They can also stand up to repeated direct strikes from lightsabers (approximately 5-6 strikes per plate).
Strengths:
- Highly resistance to Lightsabers and Energy Fire: Through the use of Sith Alchemy and Cortosis the components of this armor have been altered to make them highly resistant to lightsaber and energy fire (ie. From blasters). The under-webbing fabric can withstand one to two glancing shots from light blaster weapons and up to one glancing blow from a lightsaber while the plating can withstand several direct blows from heavier energy weapons and lightsabers.
- Shorts Out Lightsabers: The use of Cortosis in the fabric of the suit's under-webbing and overcloak gives it the ability to short out lightsaber blades that come into contact with it.
Weaknesses:
- Powerful Darkside Aura: The Sith Alchemy processes used in the alteration of the armored plates have given the suit as a whole a very potent Darkside Aura. This Aura cannot be contained by any techniques a being might use to mask their own presence in the Force. For untrained for sensitives, this armor might simply give them a sudden feeling of cold or unease. For trained Force users, this armor shines like a beacon in the Force as a wellspring of all of Nateo's anger, hurt, rage and grief. This effect can be mitigated somewhat using Force nullifying creatures or technologies such as Ysalamiri, but since that would also nullify the wearer's connection to the Force its not exactly an ideal solution.
- Very little Kinetic Protection: This armor, while excellent at protecting against Blaster and Lightsaber attacks provides very little protection from kinetic attacks like vibroblades or projectile weapons.
Description:
Nateo built his armor centuries ago when he was known as Darth Adamas, a Sith Lord. A picture of elegant simplicity, the suit is made up of a alchemically enhanced fabric and alchemically enhanced durasteel plates. It was designed to provide above average protection to lightsaber strikes and energy fire while allowing for a full range of motion that is required by many Jedi and Sith battle techniques. Seeing no particular need to fix the unbroken, Nateo has made very few modifications (other than routine maintenance) to his armor over the years.
