GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: The Nar Shaddaa Deployment Troopers
  • Affiliation: The Hutt Republic
  • Classification: Infantry
  • Description: The Nar Shaddaa Deployment Troopers are the next generation of infantry for the Hutt Republic. Replacing the old mercenaries armies of the Ancient Hutt Cartel with a formidable fighting force that can hold the line against any invaders. Handpicked from the Crime Filled Streets of Nar Shaddaa; these individuals are trained in battle tactics and given the standardized armor of the Deployment Troopers to make for a force with a variety of skill levels; be they experts in sabotage; infiltration; slicing and other noticeable traits that they have learned on the harsh streets of the smuggler's moon. The Deployment Troopers work well with the Nal Hutta Heavy Cannoneer Units and combined arms tactics are regularly employed between the two to bring down enemy's positions regardless of how strong there defenses might be. The Emblem of the Deployment Troopers is a Nar Shaddaa Sky Palace with their standard helmet on top of it. With a variety of different skills the general mindset isn't always geared towards victory but to what they can gain from their hutt overlords for a job well down; be it a pay rise; 24/7 attendants or other bonus items that they can sell or use for other purposes.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Large
  • Unit Availability: Common
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: The Nar Shaddaa Deployment Troopers are a front line fighting force comprised off individuals handpicked or conscripted off the streets of the Smuggler's Moon of Nar Shaddaa. The Chance for a better life had driven many volunteers to the service as they grow tired of the constant crime that had disrupted their daily life's. With bonuses and rewards set up into place through a tier system; many have decided to stay in the service of the hutts and defend their interest as they have nothing left to do with their lives. Each individual that makes up the Deployment Troopers are unique and have different personalities that often conflict with each other. This can hinder operational effectiveness but overseers have been put into the ranks to make sure that everyone is getting along and fighting for the same purpose of defending their hutt overlord's property. They work extremely well with both vehicle's and the Nal Hutta Heavy Cannoneers as they have a wide variety of individual skill level that is trained to be effective in combined arms tactics.
Strengths:
  • Each their Own: The Deployment Troopers are comprised of many different backgrounds and various amounts of skill. This works to their advantage is that someone will have the technical know how to handle any situation that comes their way and allow the troopers to advance unopposed.
  • Maneuverable: The Deployment Troopers lack of heavy equipment and armor makes them more maneuverable in battle and better allows them to regroup if they have to retreat and organize a counter strike against an imposing force. They will also suffer less losses because they can more easily maneuver into cover to protect themselves from enemy fire
  • Working as a Team: The Deployment Troopers are well trained in the use of combined arms to defeat their foe even when outnumbered and know how to operate all machinery that may be fielded by the hutt republic during a battle. They are best suited with the heavy support of the Nal Hutta Heavy Cannoneers as they both are infantry units that can play off of each others strengths and protect each other from their weaknesses in the field of battle.
Weaknesses:
  • Infighting Happens: Much like it can be a strength; the blending of many different people into a fighting force is often difficult as they have many individual goals in mind and many different ways to win a battle in their head that doesn't exactly respond to the tactics issued by the Hutt Republic's Commanding Officers. With such a blend also comes another problem; is that these people have different beliefs that can spire into an argument and decrease the effectiveness of the operations being carried out as tensions run high.
  • Great Vulnerability: In order for the Deployment Troopers to be more maneuverable in combat; they have to lose a lot of armor protection that can end up in high casualties at an alarming rate as the battle commences. They are vulnerable to light vehicles and other heavy equipment that the enemy may field on the battle and can be taken down by a few blaster bolts in their unprotected areas.
  • Difference in Skill: While the conscription efforts have proven a large success story by drawing in volunteers. These people have a large a ray of skills or no skill at all when they come to enlist for the rewards offered by the Hutt Families for their services. As such it takes a long time to train everyone up to an operational status and may cause resentment from the lower level people when the volunteers with skill show off; further creating division instead of a unified force as intended. Often units will be pushed into battle without full training just to fill out the rank and file numbers.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Nar Shaddaa Deployment Troopers were another concept of the Militaristic Qunaalac Kajidic. In order to replace the expensive mercenary armies fielded by the past version of the hutt cartel; the idea of an organized fighting force along the lines of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps was tested at first with a small regiment hand picked from Nal Hutta's Populace as a supposed recruitment drive into the Hutt Guardsman Guild, this attempt ended in failure as the infighting problem was swiftly noticed when attempting to train two different people from two different life styles into working with each other for the common goal of protecting the Hutt's Interest in the Galaxy. In order for the program to work as intended; the Hutts would still have to rely on mercenaries for their main infantry, but the reorganization of the Deployment Troopers along the line of the Interstellar Regulators into Front Line Infantry for the Hutt Republic was apparent, while the troopers would never completely replace the mercenaries as the dominant fighting force; they now compromise 1/3 of the fighting force that the Hutts can now wield into battle against their foes. They are mainly stationed on the two main planets of the former Hutt Cartel; Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa. The later is where they had gotten their namesake for a majority of the volunteers were handpicked from the smuggler's moon to serve in the deployment troopers. A few regiments have been sent to the Retreat World of Darvannis to act as reinforcements for the Local Security Forces on the Planet and to test out if they are suited in the roll of police instead of military units if the hutt republic doesn't have any more enemy's to fight currently.
