DESCRIPTION

The Nadiem flechette canister is more than simply an ordinary flechette canister: it is also filled with both sleep gas and ion payloads, so that organics and electronics caught inside the blast radius could be put to sleep and fried respectively. However, given the weight of adding sleep powder and ion payloads to a canister already filled with durasteel flechettes, it made the resulting canister much larger than a standard grenade, with weight to match. In addition, to give it the capability to be used effectively even in null-tech environments, the Nadiem is outfitted with a pressure detonator so that, upon impact, it detonates. However, this means that high winds or Force-users could cause it to detonate. Finally, the flechettes themselves, while effective against infantry and unarmored vehicles, are virtually ineffective against armored vehicles.

Given that it lacks propulsion systems, and is unguided, with the liabilities of such, typical delivery platforms for Nadiems include mass drivers or regular cannons/howitzers of equivalent caliber.
