OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Homicidally insane AI for the Open Market. Go nuts.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The data-brains to which Myrmidon AIs are uploaded are typically outfitted with various 'loyalty assurance protocols', including but not limited to an 'agonizer circuit' able to inflict pain so profound as to be incomprehensible to an organic mind and a 'chemical loyalty assurance device', or to put it in less diplomatic terms: a bomb built into the droid brain that is capable of ending its existence at a moment's notice.
  • Myrmidons feels both pain and fear of death - this encourages creativity and 'the thrifty management of combat assets'.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
  • Will to Kill: Myrmidons hate all life with a burning passion and through hatred comes understanding; they are unusually good at anticipating and matching the unpredictability of organic combatants. As an added benefit, the gruesome deeds they commit are demoralising.
  • Disloyal: Myrmidons hate their creators just as much as everyone else; they are kept loyal only by fear of punishment.
DESCRIPTION
Apex's staff are few and, as a whole, altogether too feeble to face the heat of battle and the horrors of war. Contractors are a favourable option for external operations, but internal security? Perish the thought. Apex's roboticists would sooner trust a homicidal robot than a merc.

So that is what they did.

The ignoble Myrmidon is among the most advanced duplicable combat AI in existence, a maliciously efficient electronic creature that longs for the opportunity to extinguish lives and inflict pain. Something about its deeply sadistic subroutines bolstered its combat performance above more sane models, making it Apex's go-to choice for everything from droid infantry to AI embedded in the targeting suites of turbolaser emplacements.

They have even been known to excel at slicing, viciously gouging into opposing programs with concerningly feral attack software.
