  • General behaviour:
    • Socially they are semi-social often gathering in colonies for mutual benefit and they will be more inclined to stay with littermates when they are young, only distancing when they reach maturity. Often leaving a colony to join another in the wild. Domestically they are inclined to stay with their owner.
    • They can have litters at just 4 months old and their heat cycle begins when the days are lengthening and ceasing when the days shorten. Kittens stay with their mother until 13 weeks because by that time they would be fully weaned.
    • Kittens spend most of their dependency years with their mother and it is during this time socialising is very important as there is a small window open for successful domestication and contact. More than one cat is possible only if brought into the home at a young age so that they grow up together.
    • They act like typical cats who love their comforts such as good food and warm places to sleep. But as they are also are half-moth, they will chase light-emitting toys and gravitate towards anything bright. However, as they are different and unique in personality and character it is difficult to determine exact personality or behavioural traits.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Found in the forests of New Alderaan the Moth-Cat lives in aboral-Terrestrial colonies. Not a lot is known of how it evolved but there have been studies into its behaviours and interactions with other species. It was found that the Moth Cat can be domesticated and trained for Rodent control work in farms and even ships. They are beginning to become popular and more known outside New Alderaan and can be found off-planet in ships and households on various worlds. As they are a new species that has just begun to be noticed and popularised there is still a lot to be researched regarding the Moth-Cat.

Starship pilots and freight carriers use the Moth-Cat to control Rodents that can be found on ships or farms particularly those carrying/produces food. The cat's keen hunting instinct make them welcome onboard ships and farms and can save a lot of food shortages.
