- Planet Name: Morradon
- Demonym: Morradonian
- Region: Unknown Regions
- System Name: Marvus
- System Features: The Marvus system got its named due to the bright white solar body that grants heat to those planets that orbit it. The heat so much so that many of the planets closer to the star than Morradon are completely barren of life or the surface too hot to walk on, and even those that come after Morradon still have perfect levels of heat they receive from the star. Orbiting Morradon there are 3 moons all that move in a continuous orbit around the planet, each visible at some point during the day, it isn't a rare occurrence for there to be an eclipse a couple of times every month or so bathing the planet in darkness. None of the moons are known to be habitable by the occupants of Morradon due to their surfaces being too hot and often completely barren. Being the third planet in the system Morradon falls directly into the habitable zone of the star but due to the distance from Marvus its orbital period is incredibly lengthy taking up to five-hundred and ninety-five days to complete a single orbit. The rotational period of the planet is incredibly long with days lasting up to 36 hours, only seven of which are night.
- Coordinates: Z, 8
- Major Imports: N/A
- Major Exports: While Morradon doesn't export any of its goods to other planets it does have certain minerals and metals that naturally occur on the planet such as Ardanium, Exonium, and it's even possible to find Adegan Crystals in the deeper portions of the underground.
- Gravity: Standard
- Climate: Arid
- Primary Terrain: The surface of Morradon is a dry, barren wasteland matching that of planets like Tattooine and Klantooine. Bodies of water are incredibly rare to find on the surface, even worse when the sandstorms kick up easily capable of knocking a full-grown human onto their bottom. There are large rocky mountains that reach up high into the sky and are incredibly difficult for one to traverse often a journey taking months without the use of a vehicle of some sort to simply fly over them. Disperesed across the planet there are large caverns or crevices that appear to reach deep down into the planet and if one were to enter them they'd find a whole other world beneath the surface of the planet. These underground caverns and tunnels are often referred to as the 'Visuom' which is an entire ecosystem on its own. There are area's of the Visioum that are laden with lava and the heat can be absolutely unbearable, while there are others that could be completely submerged in water. All throughout the caverns there can be ores, crystals and gems found if one were to look hard enough and despite how long the planet has been around the Visioum has yet to be completely charted.
- Shorin Ta: Once a natural formation that led into the Visioum has been mined down and restructured into a grand entrance that leads down to the major city Velociton, standing outside the entrace some could possibly be entranced by the appearance. Some would compare it to the gateway to the nether, as from within one can see the red glow of the lava falls, the sounds of drums and hammers clanging against metal can be heard from outside the entrance. The outside of the entrance has been redesigned over the years to make it look far more threatening, almost as if it were the mouth of a beast. On each side of the entrance extending out the rocks have been carved into jagged edges resembling sharpened teeth, above them two indents carved resembling eyes which would glare down on those who wished to enter.
- Velociton: The main city of Morradon, or at least the one that is the most well known. The first thing one notices is the great heat and the ash that fills the air. While bearable it can take time for one to adjust to living in the underground city. All around from the cave ceilings above lava flowed freely creating a molten lake at the base of the city. Extending out of it large pillars on which the city itself was built, a metallic masterpiece. There are over twelve layers to the city itself one starting out high, closer to the ceiling where the Lord of the Forge's castle is located, while the lower down it becomes more downtrodden. The layers are built on top of each other at times even homes having to be stacked on top of another. The first three levels could be compared to more civilized species in that there are some forms of technology and that humans and others who had somehow found their way to the planet are located. This is where their homes, some of which being large and grand others not enough to house a single person. Factories are present on these levels in which people are sent to work, harvest, or process other materials not necessary to forging such as food, technology, and other such things. The lower levels is where the species native to the planet are stored, usually used as slaves, the area is downtrodden, mucky and usually smells of must due to the occupants rarely bathing. Their homes are little more than diginified huts. The last four layers of the city are dedicated strictly to forges' where the Tutaha spend their time processing ores, crafting weapons, armors, and technology for the upperlayers.
- The Dark Forge of Morradon: The dark forge, is considered the innermost sanctum, the most highly defended of area's and only the Lord of the Forge and those allowed by him can enter. Beneath even the lowest layer of the city, almost touching the magma is a chamber in which an almighty forge was created by the Sith that had once came to the world, a dark aura fills the air, where the rest of Velociton is unbearably hot the chamber is almost freezing when not active, the death of thousands can be felt coalescing into a dark vortex that fuels the forge, the screams of those sacrificed in the creation of the forge are heard whenever the forge is activated. The furnace blares with intense, green flames that lick out and if one were to look into it could almost see tormented faces shrieking for freedom.
FORCE NEXUS
- Size: Area(The Dark Forge of Morradon)
- Effect: The effect of the nexus trapped within the Dark Forge is that it amplifies one's ability in their use of Sith Alchemy not that it makes their creations stronger, but instead depending on the materials placed or used in the creation of a weapon or armor, or special item it alters the properties slightly giving the weapons special effects or attributes that wouldn't have been common without the use of the forge. This nexus can not be used to bolster one's abilities in the force, nor can its presence truly be felt to those unless they get particularly close to the Dark Forge. The past Lords of the Forge has been known to draw on the Dark Forge to prolong their life though no longer than an average trained force user of their species would live.
- Intent: To explain the special properties of the Dark Forge and expand upon the planet of Morradon.
POPULATION
- Native Species: Dathari, Tutaha, Voktari, Bantha
- Immigrated Species: Humans, Duros, ect...
- Population: Moderately Populated
- Demographics: On the surface of Morradan in the wild desserts it is possible for one to find small settlements spread out across the vast desert, usually these settlements will be filled with the natives of the planet but it is possible to find the few rare settlements established by those who had accidentally found the planet. Unable to find the technology necessary to take back off or unwilling to leave these settlements settled by immigrated species will have a mixture, some with humans, duros and even jawa’s while others could be nothing but humans. Though once one goes beneath the surface to the Visioum they will find more people native to the planet such as the Dathari and Tutaha, while there may be the few odd off humans or other alien species that found their way to these underworld cities they are vastly overrun with Dathari. Outsiders that come to the planet are usually untrusted less they prove themselves useful in some way and are almost always kept under close observation by the Dathari. Some off-worlders can even earn the Lord of the Forges’favor and live on his estate.
- Primary Languages: Galactic Standard, Sith, High Sith
- Culture: Living on Morradon is a struggle for survival on the surface, every day there is a new challenge, whether it be having to hunt for food or surviving a Voktari attack, it’s even possible that you may have to survive a vicious sandstorm that could snatch a small child up and away to never be seen again. It is not a planet for the meek, only the strong can survive and it is a true challenge. There is no government or religious bodies on the surface leaving the people with whatever beliefs they had before they immigrated to the planet, almost all of which was never by choice but due to crashing on the planet or becoming stranded. The general rule of the land on the surface is that you do what you must to survive, technology is scarce and what few settlements there are rely on barter due to the lack of an official currency and no economy. For entertainment people may use parts scavenged from crashed or down ships to access the holonet, news broadcasts and such but those are the lucky ones. Others just bide their time telling stories of the planets in which they or their forefathers originated from. It is practically an anarchy which functions based off of people’s moral compasses.
The underworld of Morradon is a completely separate entity from the surface, the cities down in the underworld worship the Lord of the Forge as their god. The Lord of the Forge is a ruling family that was appointed long ago by the Sith as the ruler and the one who had shown those who live in the underworld the true path. The natives to Morradon that live in the underworld look at the Lord of the Forge as their savior as he gives them foods, provides them with goals and gives their lives meaning. Those that were immigrants to the planet who had managed to find the underworld cities may not believe in such things yet don’t voice it due to the religious police that aid in enforcing the Lord of the Forges’ rule. The common day to day practices down here involve one going to work with the tutaha often working the forges, or overseeing the Voktari. The Dathari act as guards, religious police, and even as the ones who distribute food out to those that inhabit the underground cities. Those who immigrated to the planet are often given tasks which involve the manufacturing of technology with what they’re given or the production of food and such. Those unlucky could end up having to work with the Voktari or having to go out hunting with the Tutaha. Though while the people below live in what could be hideous conditions the Lord of the Forge and his trusted appointees are all safe on the highest level of the city overseeing the operations, they have a wealth of technology that has been gathered and often live in the lap of luxury.
- Government: Theocracy
- Affiliation: Lord of the Forge
- Wealth: Low, As a planet that doesn’t participate in exporting the materials on the planet or importing any goods, Morradon is a relatively poor world. The materials that naturally occur on the planet could easily make it an incredibly valuable world yet without exporting there is no chance for wealth to come in. The settlements on the surface don’t even work off of an official currency going off a barter system. While in the underground people earn their food every night and there is no pay.
- Stability: Medium
- Freedom & Oppression: The true ruler of the planet is the Lord of the Forge, a position instated by the Sith when they arrived on the world long ago and gave the people a purpose, posing themselves as the guides to a brighter future and enlightening the people. Its more of a religious position that people native to the planet follow or stay silent on due to the religious police that will detain one for speaking negative of the Lord of the Forge or the Sith. On the surface this isn’t enforced at all as most will never find their ways to the entrances leading to the underground nor have any clue about the Lord of the Forge. Those in the underground cities are forced to work in order to receive food, water and whatever else they need which is rationed out to them as there is no true economy, its do as you’re told or die in the underground. In contrast to the underground, those on the surface rely on bartering as there is no currency or economy either. The planet is relatively poor and each day is to survive.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
- Military: Morradon has no formal military, neither on the surface nor in the underground cities. While the civilians will muster to defend the planet they are nowhere near as well trained as a military, there is no chain of command besides to protect the Lord of the Forge, and even then that only applies to those of the Underworld and who know of the Lord of the Forge. With no planetary defenses or defenses for their cities or settlements besides guards the planet is relatively defenseless.
- Technology: Technology has never been a staple of Morradon, a majority of what is used was scavenged from ships that crashed onto the planet, or is only necessary for the day to day operations. On the surface, those who immigrated to the planet will use technology standard to the galaxy bringing it from their planets. Those who live in the underground cities don’t use technology except in the use of their duties delegated to them, while only the Lord of the Forge and those close to them are able to access more technology. The world started out with no technology whatsoever, it was with the arrival of the Sith during the time of the Inter-Sith wars that caused the boom granting the planet technology.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Morradon was first discovered during the Inter-Sith war era just a couple of centuries before Vitiate’s empire returned to the galaxy. A sith scouting party under the command of Darth Ruloir was sent out to the unknow regions in order to scout what planets were near and possessed valuable resources for the eventual Sith empire to utilize, as Morradon wasn’t deep in the unknown regions and more so bordered the outer rim it was one of the first true worlds that Ruloir found and landed upon. Scans showed a vast hoard of resources on the planet making it a valuable commodity, but upon landing on the planet what Ruloir found was a wasteland. A planet whose surface could give the other infamous dessert planets in the galaxy a run for their money. Besieged by the dangerous Voktari predators and other creatures of the planet Darth Ruloir and those appointed with him fought to survive, they had no intentions of leaving what could be a treasure trove so they stood their ground and fought. Thankfully they had speeders to aid in their journey significantly cutting short the time they would’ve spent walking through the wild wastes.
Days were spent traveling following what tale tale signs of resources they were able to pick up till Ruloir came across a massive entrance, one that was completely dark, it was akin to staring into an abyss and what they found within was a civilization. Not a cultured or particularly advanced one, but one who knew their way around the forges and seemed to have a natural inclination to the darkside much like the Sith. There was much potential to be had of these people, Ruilor saw them as a way to aid in the soon to come war when the Sith returned to the galaxy. Shipping materials in and out from the planet would be far too expensive and not worth the cost to do it often enough to where the world would be of significance. Instead Ruilor had the brilliant idea of establishing a forge on the world and leaving the people to forge weapons for the Sith and when the time came return to claim the weapons and utilize them in the war effort. For this Ruilor first began to preach the mantra of the Sith to the Dathari, teaching them to honor, obey and worship the Sith as their lords and rulers. This blind obedience was only the first step as what is now known as Velociton was not the lava filled hell that it currently is. It was a damn cool cave that housed a tribe of Dathari, Dathari that would serve a purpose in becoming the basis of what would be one of the finest forges in the galaxy. Utilizing his powers in the force Ruilor began to alter the inner tunnels allowing the lava to pour in sacrificing a massive amount of Dathari lives that all coalesced into a powerful nexus on which the Dark Forge would be built. From there came the construction of Velociton to Ruilor’s specifications which included the numerous layers of the city.
While content to rule these people Ruilor knew he was to return to the Sith with news of his findings so he had an heir who would go on to become the first Lord of the Forge, a lineage deigned as the rightful rulers by Ruilor himself. The Dathari worked eventually pulling other species such as the Tutaha into their fold to serve as their slaves in a sense, all in preparation for the day in which they’d aid in the rise of the Sith. Millenia have passed and yet the call never came, even now the forges burn bright as the current Lord of the Forge grows old waiting for his people’s time to rise.
