Plenty of companies are making the next top dogfighter, the fastest and most heavily armed space superiority fighter for the greatest aces in the galaxy. This ship isn’t for them. It’ a little big and doesn’t sport that many weapons. It’s for the average being just starting out in the galaxy. Someone may want to haul a little cargo or get into a fight or two, ferry a passenger to the next system over, who’s willing to sleep in a fold-down bed if it means they have the freedom to traverse the verse.
Centered around a large main body, the Morat features a large cockpit that seats two, aft of which is a small living space, side entry ramp and enough space for a few crates of cargo. Two asymmetrical wings rotate around the ship’s fuselage, altering the ship’s flight profile and folding vertical for landing.
Mercenary Arms designed the Morat fighter for the common being, the one without the glitz and glam or big budget, as a fighter that could do a little of everything. It’s rugged, easy to work on and modify. Marketed to people on the outer rim and less-developed planets, it didn’t take long for bounty hunters and pirates alike to take notice. Adding a door to the cargo area makes it a cell easily enough, and the standard ion cannons were ideal for disabling a target for capture, or plunder. Being little more than a box with wings and thrusters, the entire ship is just as easily modifiable, making few identical after years of changing hands and personalization.
