  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Alloy
  • Weight: Very Heavy
  • Color: Dull Gray
  • Resistances:
    • Energy (And other Blaster type weapons): High
    • Kinetic: High
    • Vibro: High
    • Lightsabers: High
    • Ion/EMP: None
    • Sonic: None
    • Acid: None
    • Flame: High
    • Cryo: None
    • Electricity: None
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Incredibly Durable Steel Highly Resistant to Wear and Tear, as well as Lightsabers. Requires vastly less maintenance than other Steels and repairs easily once successfully forged and can very easily be reforged once created for any number of purposes, allowing for cost effective recycling of the Material
  • Can be used in primary armor and weapons
STRENGTHS
  • I can't believe it's not Cortosis: Through a very thorough and particular mixture of infamously durable alloys, combined via both traditional smelting and subjected exposure to Molecular Furnace Technology that blended the resulting mixture with depleted Uranium to create a form of Molecularly Bonded Metal, Red succeeded in creating a material that can withstand a large number of full contact blows from a Lightsaber, mimicking the aspects of High Quality Cortosis weave Durasteel (But still not quite coming to the resistance of true Beskar)
  • Multipurpose: Can be used in both personal armor and weapons
  • Aegis: Protects from typical Projectiles very well as well as Vibroweapons and flame
  • Apocalypse Proof: Lasts an incredibly long time and requires less maintenance than other steels--rusts far slower. Repairs easily once successfully created and is easily reforged into whatever shape is required after initial forging, allowing for great recycling capability
WEAKNESSES
  • Acid: Acid eats through it in seconds
  • Sonic: Sonic Weapons crumple the metal like tissue paper
  • Ion: The metal degrades fast from exposure to Ion Weaponry
  • Cryo: Cryo weapons and cold temperature render it brittle
  • Weight: Very heavy, enough so that a Mandalorian may opt for only a few parts of their armor to actually be composed of this material, or may go with thinner layers of the metal for full coverage: While still providing the maximum resistance to the damage types it defends against even while thin, it can only withstand them at a few blows less than normal plating. For Example, a normal thickness plating could withstand up to seven full contact blows from a Lightsaber, while a thin plating could withstand only three full contact blows
  • Lengthy and Meticulous Forging Process: The Metallurgical Formula required to create this armor, the exact mixes and blends of which alloys is extremely demanding and exact: A single mistake at any point in the forging process could render it all unusable. It takes three times longer to forge this than other alloys, and drives up the prices as a result of the expenditure. The upside is that all Materials used do not require the hard to locate rare metals that typically go into Lightsaber resistant materials.
DESCRIPTION

The Grade 1 Mobius Steel was developed from a special metallurgical blend crafted by Red personally. This steel, while no replacement for Beskar, is high quality enough that it can be trusted to at least buy one time against the infamous Jeti'Kad. Many members of Red's clan swear by it, at least while using thin plates of it on their own armor, and is high quality enough that the Clan decided to put the material up for sale in Mandalorian areas, it's high price and weight balanced by its commonly available constituent materials which bypass the need for Cortosis or other rare metals to resist the Lightsaber as well as the vastly reduced degradation rate of the alloy in question, which is easily repaired once successfully created. The metal's sale is a sign Clan Mobius--which typically keeps it's head down in questions of Mandalorian Politics in most cases--is choosing to step up it's game for reasons that make sense only to them.
