  • Due to its adjustability features, can move in space, even though it is slow as molasses

  • Capable of withstanding fire regardless of how the drydock is configured
Weaknesses:
  • No armament
  • Very slow in realspace
  • Somewhat slow in hyperspace
Description: In today's shipbuilding environment, where construction projects greater than 3km in width or height became increasingly common, it was found that, while practical, the Tiplar was simply insufficient to service ships of that size. However, just because something is bigger doesn't mean it can easily be enlarged from an older solution, and hence it took a while for the actual drydock to be built. Once again, it is designed to fit what's being built, with, as is the case with its predecessors, all manners of standard equipment, as well as 120 docking bays for tugs and other support craft to handle the spare parts being processed inside, most of which are lined along the central boom, which also houses living quarters and storage space for both the organic crew and the droids in use. Due to its larger size, the extension and retraction times are obviously longer, and it takes 10 minutes to fully retract or extend the braces around a ship should the need to move the drydock around arise. It is even equipped with a hyperdrive, so that the drydock can be moved from a system to another if necessary. Obviously it is a high-value asset to any party capable of operating one, and the need to defend it is crucial.

Crew: 30,000 organic (10,000 support crew, 5,000 engineers, 15,000 mechanics), 200,000 droids (without storage pods)
Cargo space: 1,000,000 tons (without storage pods)-10,000,000 tons (when all the storage pods are attached)
Consumables: 6 months

Strengths:

  • Capable of servicing or constructing almost any capital ship so long as the width or the height does not exceed 3000m (can build or service ships longer than 3km but won't fit in its entirety within the drydock)

  • Due to its adjustability features, can move in space, even though it is slow as molasses

  • Capable of withstanding fire regardless of how the drydock is configured
Weaknesses:
  • Lightly armed
  • Very slow in realspace
  • Somewhat slow in hyperspace
