Description: The Titan is A.D.A.M.s go to body if he is forced to take the field and act as a heavy troop. It’s thich durasteel plating can handle most blows, and in the event that a plate is damaged, it can later be removed and either repaired or replaced. Below the durasteel there is a thin layer of Phrik over his essential components, so that a single strike from a lightsaber cannot destroy this behemoth. All essential components, and his limbs have enough Phrik to make sure they cannot be simply lopped over. Beneath that are the complex systems that make up his electromagnetic generator. Under that is a dual layer of Agrinium Mesh Underweave to ensure his own Electromagnets do not interfere with his systems. Below that are the usual necessary electronic systems for a droid and his durasteel skeleton.

As one can imagine with it’s size and weight, it is both an obvious target, and slow. A full run for the Titan is equivalent to a jog for an average human. The Titan faces the serious possibility of not being able to ride in standard vehicles or stand on unreinforced floors due to it’s significant weight. In addition, there is one notable weak point in the Titans design. An overlooked area within the droids ‘armpit’ houses largely unprotected hydraulic lines, and if an enemy should spot this weakness and exploit it, the Titan’s arms can be disabled, rendering it much harder to deal damage.

While A.D.A.M. is contained within his Titan body, he cannot control other droids, slice, hack or swap bodies when powered up. This is largely due to the extensive Agrinium underweave used because of the electromagnetic manipulation this model takes advantage of. As well as being able to magnetize it’s extremities (hands and feet) at will, the Titan can turn on an all over Magnetetic attractor attracting any nearby metallic debris. This would usually have the effect of causing damage to itself if not for the boosted deflector shield. Said shield generates a bubble around the Titan which can hold off a near solid layer of debris for roughly 30 seconds, by which point the Titan will rely on the EM field generator to not damage himself. Obviously this ability is hugely situational as there must first be debris to manipulate and consideration for allies must be taken.

Also, since the main components of his Deflector Shield are located beneath the ‘shield’ section of his left arm, enough focused damage here could destroy it, rendering his shield and thus his shrapnel attack unusable.

In addition, if a force user is powerful enough to affect his considerable weight, or precise enough to target internal systems, A.D.A.M. and the Titan have no current protection against force use.

What effect would this have on this droid itself, primarily its electrical equipment. i.e; Would this act like an EMP?
No, essentially it's not an EMP device, it functions more like a magnet. EMP's you're thinking of use microwave technology to temporarily overload circuitry. This is more like giving a magnetic polarity and being able to shift it between +/- So- to put this into more detail, there are four different types of energy that come from an EMP. There are
  • Electric Fields
  • Magnetic Fields *
  • Electromagnetic Radiation
  • Electrical Conduction
So, I've stripped three of these things and resort to the bare-bones of one of these types of energies. Magnetic, therefore it has no actual effect on electronics. It just has a magnetic pull to anythnig taht can be attracted by it.

So, to clarify, this turns the metal portions of the droid, be it phrik or otherwise, into an electromagnet?

Also, the weight of this is 1400 kg, while phrik remains one of the lightest materials in the SW universe. Could you explain this weight?

Yes, the outer layer turns magnetized in order to draw in magnetized metals. - That is to say it creates an electromagnetivity on the Durasteel plating to draw sharpnel and close-by metal towards it. If the shield is disabled then the debri would destroy the droid.

As for the weight, the main contributor is size and Durasteel plating, the Phirk is underplating, but there is a large amount of durasteel plating above it, also- The weight is higher in order to create a more balanced creation - That is to say that you wouldnt want something this big to be able to move QUICKLY (lol) But no, most of the weight is from the design and the amount of plating.

Clarrified:

Durasteel Skeleton
Durasteel Plating
These two things are what this droid MAINLY consist of. The Phirk is an Under-plating that allows for combat resistence AFTER it has broken through the durasteel

Also- Something I forgot to add, this is roughly the weight of a hippo, and solid metal is very dense and thick, increasing the mass. If anything, since it's made of solid metal, it actually might need to be made heavier.

What is the maximum size of debris/shrapnel/magnetic material you would expect this to be capable of lifting/moving/making significant impact on?
No more than 20LB per item/object, it wouldnt be able to pick up anything bigger than lets say, a B2 battle droid's chest (Shoulders excluded).. The main effect is to pick up "small" pieces and either use them as a absorber and buffer to the shield or release as a weapon, It would have specific effect on anything that can be magnetized withing about 3 1/2 yards, including ligthsabres made of it, however the pull isnt so much that someone could just hold onto whatever is being pulled.

Alrighty, here's a list of all canon sources of technology in relation to the electromagnetic stuff you want to use:
  • EM Field Generator (Different than the link you provided, this works similarly to how you have described your deflector shield working)
  • Magnetic Attractor (Works as you described pulling debris/material towards your droid)
  • Electrostatic Repeller (Repels small particles, such as dust and sand)
As it stands, the ability to reverse the polarity on your electromagnetic exterior is perfectly fine, but unless this is opposite of the polarity provided by the metals being pulled in it will not do anything except continue to pull them towards you (unless you can change their polarities, which is not quite how an electromagnet works). I listed the electrostatic repeller as a primary source to look into because I will allow the use of pushing away small debris ranging upwards 5-7 kg if you can provide a 10 post development thread towards advancing this technology.

I also request you alter your description of the EM field generator to coincide with canon, and utilize the magnetic attractor (or simply magnetize the exterior of the droid via electromagnetism, which differs from creating an EM field) as your method of control rather than the EM Field Generator.

Without Development threads:
  • Remove repulsing magnetic field.
  • Alter description of EM Field generator to coincide with canon.
  • Change the method of attracting materials in some way to fit with canon. (Strongly suggested to use the Magnetic Attractor)
With Development Threads:
  • 10 posts involving the advancement of Electrostatic Repellers
  • Alter description of EM Field Generator to coincide with canon
  • Change method of attracting materials to fit with canon, (Strongly suggested to use the Magnetic Attractor)
And for ease of access for where I found these articles, this is the Tool Category in the wookie, feel free to use it to find suitable substitutes or simply for further research.

I have gone with Option 1, I will do the tech development in a later submission or in a edit of this one. I believe I have done everything asked.
