  • Fixed Forward Weapon Placements; Consistent Reorientation for Target Acquisition.
  • Repulsorlift Jammers; Proximity Dependent as Jammers are Less Effective at a Distance.
  • Advanced Power Couplings - Notable Dips in Operational Performance when Power's Allocated away from Major System(s.)
    • Shunted to Engines: Weapons and Shielding are Weaker.
    • Shunted to Weapons: Speed is Reduced and Shielding is Weaker.
    • Shunted to Shields: Speed is Reduced and Weapons are Weaker.
  • Large Dorsal and Ventral Attack Profile - Higher Probability of Scoring Hits.
  • Squadron Mask - Disables Starfighter's Transponder via Dedicated Jamming Module; Ineffective at Range.
    • Conventional Sensors are Not Effected and the Starfighter / Squadron can still be Targeted.
    • Requires a "Cooldown" After Each Use.
  • SLAM System; Reroutes Power from Weapons to Engines - Temporarily Disables Armament.
  • Gyroscopic Rotation - If Damaged, the Module Locks and the Fang Fighter cannot Rotate.
  • Mirror Shielding - Less Effective against Kinetic Weapons, and may Interfere with Laser-based Comms.
  • Massive Attack Profile; Greater Chances of Striking the Starfighter from the Dorsal or Ventral Surfaces.
  • Assault Shield - Double Front; When Utilized, Port, Starboard and Aft Shielding is Weaker than the Bow / Fore Vector.
  • Sensor Inverter; Works best with Conventional Warheads; Higher Chance of Failure in more Advanced Warheads.
DESCRIPTION
The Mk IV Fang - Class Starfighter was designed to be fast and highly maneuverable - much like their ancient predecessors. Both aspects would prove to be an invaluable boon to those brave souls ensconced within the Starfighter’s cockpit. For an enemy couldn’t strike down, what their various weapon systems couldn’t hit. Thus, these ancient Mandalorian vessels - reborn in the modern era - could dance about the spatial battlefield, weave through the spreading fields of debris, and eventually slay their countless foes. These boons extended beyond the infinite, bespeckled realm of the spatial aether, as their capabilities weren’t diminished when embraced by a planet’s atmosphere or the respective gravitic field. Fang-fighters could accelerate to supersonic speeds through the combination of their advanced drive units, narrow forward-attack profile, and integrated deflector shielding. All with little concern of experiencing environmental drag that would inevitably deteriorate their momentum or mobility.

When it came to designing a new Starfighter for the disparate Mandalorian peoples who pledged themselves to the Sons of Mandalore, and the resurgent Death Watch, the Warsmiths at Mythosaur Forgeworks believed that it was wise to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors. At least, in the terms of invoking the twinned sensations of awe and terror that was rendered unto reality by the Starfighter’s elegant visage. From there, everything that these Warsmiths had learned throughout the centuries since the first Fang Fighters rolled off the assembly lines, would be incorporated into the venerable design. Through this combination of aesthetic and values garnered from the past, as well as technological advances made in the present era, the Mark IV would become one, or many symbols that would come to define the future of the resurgent Mandalorian Culture.

With its exterior set, the Warsmiths began focusing on the internal and integrated systems - all of which, when combined - would make the Fang Fighter extremely deadly in combat. The first of these systems that would be immediately recognizable, were the twin repeating particle cannons that were mounted on the rotating wings. While they weren’t readily comparable to the heavy weapons often utilized by other Space Superiority Starfighters, their destructive power was bequeathed by its plasmatic spread on impact. As most energy-based weapons sought to concentrate their power at a single point, creating a proverbial scalpel, these rapid-firing particle cannons sought to emulate a powered jackhammer. They’d batter down deflector shields, or bathe a significant portion of their enemies hull in plasmatic hellfire, likely exposing their opposition to the solar tides.

Coupled with the repeating functionality, and plasmatic spread on impact - these particle cannons would prove to be a nasty weapon when utilized against targets that were Xythan shielded. The reasoning there was that the damage would be absorbed by the shield, shunted towards their capacitors, but it would be unable to expend that unstable energy - as there was no bolt to reform. Sure, it would mean that the Xythan would bear the brunt of the damage and likely safeguard their opponent for a time - but as the Mandalorian Pilot no longer had to fear of being struck down by their own weapons? It was only a matter of time until their enemies' defensive barriers collapsed, allowing for the Mark IV to push into the gap and land the killing blow.

To ensure that such an end would come about, the Fang Fighter was outfitted with an Ionic Disruptor weapon - that was intended to disable starships and vehicles alike. This weapon would assault the various insulative measures that sought to defend a powered starship, or vehicle, from the overloading, and unstable nature of projected Ion weaponry. In a sense, this Disruptor weapon system was akin to a portable Ion cannon - but supercharged in a slow-firing capacity. With every accruement, the discharged beam held the capability of rapidly draining a deflector shield’s capacity - if not depleting it outright. A successive shot would overload, and likely fry the unprotected circuits within the starship, or vehicle. Should their circuitry be insulated, it was likely that more than a few beams would be required in order to wholly disable their target. Nevertheless, such a weapon would prove to be the bane of many opponents that were flown against these Mandalorian Starfighters.

After an advanced suite of targeting arrays, sensors, and the like were installed into the Fang Fighter’s spaceframe - the Warsmith’s elected to craft a trio of advanced ion drives that would propel their vessel to greater heights. Like many Star-drives that populated the known Galaxy, these engines would house a twinned function. Firstly, they were capable of utilizing the radioactive isotopes that were produced by internalized fusion, which was commonly known as Ionic propulsion at sunlight speeds. In addition, these advanced drives housed the combined technologies of Repulsorlift Engines and Turbofans - which would bequeath a greater mastery of a planet’s atmosphere, than standard ion drives alone. Not only were these engines highly efficient, but as they didn’t irradiate a planet’s surface when in used in a Planet’s atmosphere - they were also environmentally friendly in some capacity.

And so, with everything folded into an elegant, but wholly aggressive Starfighter - it was doubtful that there would be any opposition left standing in their wake - as the Mandalorian people reclaimed their place amongst the stars.
