- Stun Baton: The hilt of this weapon is outfitted with a powerful stun charge. By connecting the hilt of this weapon with an enemy it will send a powerful electric shock through their body, capable of disorienting/stunning most humanoids or comparable species for a number of minutes. Prolonged exposure to the electric baton can lead to serious medical damage and eventually death.
- Poison Reservoir: The blade of this weapon can be infused with a liquid poison at any time. The user need only open a small compartment in the hilt to add a toxin of their choosing. However, the toxin is advised to be extremely powerful in small doses due to the face that the reservoir can only hold a few ounces of liquid.
- Light Weight: This particular vibrosword is considerably lighter than most of its kind, making it ideal for traveling and prolonged combat.
- Lightsaber Resistant: The Phrik edge that this weapon employs allows it to go toe to toe with a lightsaber indefinitely.
- Poisoned Blade (Optional): When endowed with a poisoned edge, the effectiveness and lethality of this blade is essentially doubled.
- Effective: Along with an edge that can withstand the blade of a lightsaber, the vibro-function of the sword also allows this weapon to cut through most materials with ease, however it's blade is still second to a lightsaber.
- Awkward Handling: The near-weightlessness of the sword makes it very difficult to master. The majority of the swords weight is in the hilt which holds the vibro-mechanisms and other added functions.
- EMP Susceptible: An EMP/ION blast geared towards this weapon can cause complete failure of the electrical systems within the hilt. While the directness of the EMP exposure plays an important role on how long the weapon will remain dysfunctional, most cases result in the vibro function and stun baton being offline for two to four hours.
The Illyrian Military prides itself on the cutting edge technology and versatility that makes up the backbone of it's ground forces. To give the Illyrian foot soldiers an upper hand in prolonged combat, a specialized vibrosword was created by Dynetech Industries. The Mark I Dynetech Vibrosword is a Phrik-reinforced vibrosword giving it the capability to engage a lightsaber in melee combat. The blades are extremely expensive to manufacture, nearly three times the market price of a standard vibrosword. The titanium alloy is extremely light and makes for a better weapon in long-term combat. However, blades this light are not common in the galaxy, meaning that it is harder to master a weapon of its kind. There are a few added features, including a reservoir for liquid poison to seep down over the blade's edge. Another added feature is the sword's stun-baton embedded into the hilt of the weapon. This allows the vibrosword to act as a pacification weapon. The vibroswords have not been reinforced to be dependable against ION weaponry. A mesh to defend the sword's core electronics would have taken the blade over an already inflated budget.
