Intent: To create a HUD option for those who do not wish to wear helmets
Development Thread: If needed
Manufacturer: Justice Munitions
Model: Mk 3 Shooter visor
Affiliation: Open market
Modularity: Minor, only aesthetics
Production: Production: Mass Produced
Material: Durasteel, plasteel, fiber optics, computer parts.
Description:
Strengths:
+Light weight: this thing weighs as much as a standard pair of glasses
+Understated: this is perfect for special ops personnel, scoundrels, gunslingers, and all of those who do not wear helmets for cultural or biological reasons. To the outsider it appears to be nothing special.
+Amazingly cool: yes, these look pretty cool. That’s a total plus
Weaknesses:
--No scanners: unlike helmets who have built in scanners and most that have ventilation systems, this has neither.
--No head protection: Aside from keeping dirt out of your eyes, these glasses offer no protection from damage. They only offer the protection that a cool pair of sunglasses would offer.
Special features:
--Connects to devices: these glasses connect to the HUD attachments on weapons, ships, computers, datapads, comm units, pretty much anything that has a computer chip in it.
--Flash protection: the coating on these visors help to prevent blindness from sudden flashes, blinding lights, and staring at stars too long.
--HUD: this thing contains a HUD unit. Just like the HUD units that are in most helmets these days.
--Customization: this thing’s HUD display can be customized to color schemes, and so on that are desirable to the user. Some of these possible customized schemes include blue-theme, red-theme, yellow-theme, green-theme, and so on. This HUD also is able to display in infrared colors for the species that see in this spectrum.
--Visual cue sensors and mic: The HUD is able to track eye movement to take orders. These motions include blinking, twitching, eye shift, and so on. They also recognize voice orders of the user.
James hates helmets. They hide his gorgeous face, they mess up his hair, and they keep the lovely ladies from seeing his gorgeous eyes and expressions. However, for him and most soldiers the HUD was the most important part of their gear, for the simple reason that it gave them a constant stream of their most vial weapon, intel. Besides, there were many who were also like him who hated the feeling of wearing helmets. Or for them it was not the sort of thing that they needed to fit into their social group such as a cantina or the way that most all helmets do not fit on wookiee heads.
For these people James made the Mk 3 Shooting visor. While it is designed for combat scenarios, it is able to fulfill more stealthy missions, spy missions, computer slicing, piloting and the like. Its sole purpose is to interlock forms of data and display them on a visual cue for the wearer.
